What did you think about the Razer Edge? Would you get one? Let me know your thoughts on the comments!

Personally I'm a man of Convenience and Functionality over Luxury. Also I already have a phone attached to a controller and I didn't care for it.

@@Pridetoons that makes a lot of sense. This is basically what that is.

The device seems good but it is not suitable for me. I prefer a device that doesn't detach, in this case part of a controller. In addition, it is a bit too big for me. Also, I prefer a system other than android, but it is not an obstacle for me.

I bought one. If something happens to the controller, you can just get another kishi and your back in business. If it was one solid unit, you would be down until you could get it back from repair. Nobody is talking about that. Great video brother.

Absolutely love my edge 5G. The buttons while different feeling than I’m used to, are actually awesome. Like clicky mouse buttons. It definitely feels premium. Both controller and edge. My only wish would be for a brighter screen. I stare at an iPhone 14 pro max all day at full brightness. Switching to the edge, I wish I had those extra nits.
Overall I like it. I returned the gcloud. Still have the iPhone v2 Kishi, a retro pocket 3+, and the edge 5G is my daily. I really like having the 5G. We have great coverage in my area and surrounding areas. 200-800mbs down depending on location. Cloud streaming is almost as seamless!

Great job on this one, well covered and agreed, it's getting more hate than it deserves (the device, not the marketing department)

Thank you! I agree. It's a pretty good device.

Bought last week, received from Verizon on Thursday and packaged back up and took it to the UPS store Saturday. Fat32 destroyed its emulation capacity. Several of my PS2 and Wii games won't play and I bought this more for emulation than anything. Razer is promising an update but I wouldn't hold my breath. Their support is spotty at best.
As far as build and screen it was an excellent job and performance was excellent in my limited time.

Wow! I just bought this thing and it's extremely underrated! I absolutely love it. I've tried every handheld in the android gaming space and this is the best one bar none! The screen is a double edged sword. It looks amazing but the rounded corners mess some things up. That is my only complaint about this. The battery life is insane as well.

I have the steam deck but I plan on buying one of these also as travel device

Good review, I only missed a size comparison to other devices you have, for example AYANEO Air Pro. I mean to show several devices close to each other. For me, the size of the handheld is very important. I have small hands and holding, for example, a steam deck for a long time is a problem.

    • @TechSummitTV
      @TechSummitTV  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Thank you! I'll make sure to have more size comparisons for future reviews. This device is slightly longer than the AYANEO Air Pro but much thinner. Almost exactly the length of the GPD XP. Hope this helps a little.

@@TechSummitTV Yeh it helped. I'm in the process of choosing the perfect handheld for me, it's not easy because I want a device that is not too big, and ergonomic. It's not an easy thing 😅.I think I'll wait a bit longer, maybe a smaller version of the steam deck or something similar will come out.

Can you play downloaded games without any wifi and can you downloaded steam games or Xbox games?

The whole idea of a separate controller attached to a tablet makes lots of sense and gives amazing versatility to the device. But Razer has to improve certain things. The tablet must be at 7"+ inches (8'' like the PS portal would be amazing) otherwise as many viewers said, you can use your phone instead. In that size there is a valid reason to use the Razer instead of your phone and also to use the tablet for other content consumption. It would make perfect sense and I would buy one tomorrow as with one purchase I would have a tablet, a gaming console and a controller to use with my phone when I don't wanna carry the edge around.

If it wasn't for that smartphone screen... 21x9, curved edges, it's like they just looked into a bin and see what they could Frankenstein together.
It's so damn wide for no reason. Everything is 16x9, the only thing this is good for is android gaming where the games scale correctly. Like mostly everything will have borders with this. Like you can put 2 n64 games side by side! lol.. At least for DS it looks good.
I wonder what their logic was putting in a smartphone screen into a rectangle device with a controller attached. Also the battery is quite small for such a bulky device, I mean it's not like a Pixmax Portal with all the sensors and sh*t that takes up space, I feel they could have added another 1000mah to it. I hear battery drain overnight is a killer.
The high refresh screen is nice but... what games take advantage of it? heh.. Only Geforce Now seems to really use this to it's full potential.
    Good review. :)

Its definitely designed for Android Gaming in mind. I don't love that aspect about it and I do hope that they make something that's better suited for emulation someday.

I have the AYN Odin which has a SD845 but is able to upscale most games better than what was shown here. PSP GoW at 4x, GameCube at 1080p, PS2 at 720p. I would have expected better from what’s supposed to be a rebranded 888.

For the price this is very very lacking. The SteamDeck is way more versitile and a 1TB even 512Gb microSD will fix the storage issue

The Razer Edge is a nice device, but the software is very bad. Razer needs to develop a dedicated software for this device like the Retroid Pocket. There's even GammaOS for Anbernic devices, I wish I had bought a Retroid Pocket.

    Awesome Content as always...
    As of Android platform...
AYN Odin 256gb internal storage and 8gb of ram Pro model is the best way to go...
Razor missed some great opportunities with this device...
Since Vita3K emulator is out... those little 64gb... 128gb storage internal is out of commission... Due to update and games installation...🧐🤔...
    Steam deck is Linux platform...
AYA Neo series...GPD... One X Player... AYN Lucky are Windows Platform...
Choose base on your need and $$$...
    And enjoy your game...
Me, just rocking with my Sammy Tab S7 11" 256gb internal and 512gb Sammy Evo micro-Sd Card... because I enjoy Drawing Tablet and Light Retro Gaming using Emulators for PSX...PSP...PS2... DREAMCAST...SNES...N64... GAME CUBE AND WII...🤔🧐🤓😎
