I returned this bag, I wanted to love it. I thought I would love that opening but I didn't like that it wasn't flexible. It was hard for me to rummage around in.

I ordered what I thought was this bag. It does not have the same opening. It just has a zipper like any other backpack. Not sure if I will keep it or return it. Traveling next month.

“A lot of them look good but aren’t comfortable to carry” - - I would have liked to see it ON your wife and see her adjust the straps. A backpack is all about the straps.
It is actually very comfortable. It can hold a lot of stuff, but my wife really used it a lot while traveling. Even when loading the bag, it was just as easy and comfortable to carry than much more expensive bags. I hope this helps.
