Well...What a tale of 2 totally different Festival experiences...
Firstly - All of The Good 😁
It started absolutely seamlessly! Everything went off without any issues at all! No traffic, no queues, we meet everyone super quick and all got camped in Midgard togetherish. And It's an absolutely perfect festival! Make no mistake, it's spot on for the Community vibe we all have & Love. Bloodstock is definitely a meeting point for a few hundred of my closest mates that don't live close and we spend hours catching up & sharing stories.

I'm amazed at how many people quote certain things back to me that I've said in old videos & repeat flippant comments! I absolutely loved catching up with you all 🖤 and really did my best to at least get a quick "Hi & Bye" on camera! Especially in the first 2 days! The highlights band wise:
🤘🏻HATE!!🤘🏻 They were exactly what I needed! But so early! & We hadn't slept!!! 😂
Killswitch Engage (I was always a Howard guy) but they absolutely smashed it! & Took me by surprise.
Abbath I have never seen them be that good!!! 😂 I have seen him many times be sloppy as fuck but this was a good show!
Decapitated - My neck still hurts from headbanging that fast!!! 🤘🏻😎🍻 Exactly what we needed!
Lokust what a turn out! It was cool to meet so many people who went to the show, on my TH-cam recommendation! I tried to get this on camera as much as possible, I was shocked that it had that kind of influence!!
& Kinda the same thing with Sanguinem!!! It was so cool to follow their story from winning London Metal 2 the Masses to playing Bloodstock. That Live performance was so much better than the recordings!
The Bad
Unfortunately one of the worst things I've ever witnessed happened at this festival...
After Abbath we had gone back to Camp for more drinks. Whilst walking up to the toilet, I walked into the scene, slowly figuring out it's where my friends were camped & That Vyte had passed away in his tent.
Going from such a fucking high to watching that, was the biggest emotional drop I've personally ever had. Total silence...The Bloodstock staff & security were respectful & handled it as best as they could. Watching Debs give that speech to us lot after waiting for what felt like hours was too much for me...I couldn't cope & was a crying mess. So if any of us seemed off on the following day thats why. So many of us are still in shock & it really hasn't sunk in at all...
But we all stayed, we finished the festival, it's definitely what he would have done/wanted & my hope is that our little group of mates really pull's together & support/ check in on eachother through the following few weeks/months & most importantly the now empty feeling Gigs. Because he was at absolutely everything with us! A gentle giant & Absolute Fucking Legend.

On the way home
4 miles from Oxford services our car had ESP failure & suddenly went into Limp mode on the motorway & so we had to crawl down the hard shoulder 😂 I managed to reset the ECU at the services and got the thing 9.5 hours home, but it was a tough one! We passed out nearly straight away and my Mac completely broke whilst uploading the footage so hopefully thats not corrupted & I'll be working on the next series of Bloodstock Vlogs throughout this week. As usual 7PM & I will do the LiveChats🤘🏻and will be spending a few hours catching up on all of the messages I've (Not) ignored!

Glad I bumped into on Friday during Killswitch (your hair / beard smelled amazing 😂). I absolutely love how everyone looks after each other at Bloodstock, and these vlogs go some way to showing that. Well done for carrying on and finishing the weekend and the vlog. You're pretty strong . My son was camped in midgard and told us on Sunday what had occurred (we don't live far so drive up and back every day coz we're old) Had no idea at that point that this was your friend but Bloodstock is one big community and to lose one is a loss to all. We experienced something similar at Bloodstock a few years ago when a guy collapsed and died in front of us in the car park. He was alone and i can't imagine the effect that would've had on his friends waiting for him in the arena.

I actually remember the car park incident a few years back, a heart attack Wasn't it? I was parked behind the off duty nurse that attended the following year & got the full story. It stays with you man!

As they were attempting resuscitation his body just exhaled all the air out that they'd been blowing in and at that point I pulled the wife away because I've seen that before and I knew he'd gone. So so sad. But, on the flip side, if I'm gonna go I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be than with my mates and family doing the thing I love the most. It's not the easiest thing to shut out of your mind afterwards though. It's just part of the journey for all of us. Love your family and friends. Make memories and cherish them. F**k I love the metal community!

@@SonnyBurnett85 definitely! Its nice because they are natural vlogs. It's not "forced fun" for the camera its exactly what it is. Friends enjoying music and each others company. No silly gimmicks, no deliberately being over the top as its TH-cam for the content, no stupid sponsors which have 0 relevancy and you can tell the creator could not care less about the product etc.

Yeah the thing is it hasn't really stopped being on my mind. I re live & re play the days previous and just didn't see any signs. I still have his picture up in our place and I know our other guys are the same. It's just really tough to move on from. But all of that group of friends have supported eachother since and we regularly talk about it especially when low sow it's not a forbidden subject by any means.

see the issue nowadays is nobody helps and just whips a phone out instead. people cant seem to desensitised to it and its only real thru a screen. i'd have asked first for them to stop and see the seriousness of the situation, but after that i'd be taking their phones and throwing them as its just not acceptable.
obvs because i'm older i always do the easier thing, so i just go and get the car and pull it as forward as i can. saves all the lugging for as long.
ive had limp mode before on a mway and mine was serious (new engine needed as pistons blew) so i feel the pain there when trying to navigate and heavy traffic going. mind you i always exclusively drive as i feel safer... even when i broke my ankle once i said f that, i'll drive! glad ruby did that bit at the end. you're both nice people and i'm glad you found each other.

That was an emotional end my friend and like you said us men don’t talk and I’ve been there to and it’s f##king hard for us men to go and get help. It took me years and years of acting alls fine till it came to a head one day. On a lighter note did Barteks new trainers survive bloodstock? 😄
