- this was such a fun trip to visit my friend Erin who I haven’t seen in two years!! i got the train for the first time in my wheelchair, navigating the ramps, platforms and accessibility issues which was a massive win and milestone for me 🥹🙌🏻

My name is Zara Beth (zeezee25 on tiktok) and I post videos about disability, neurodiversity and living with Tourette's Syndrome, Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and Orthostatic Hypotension. Tourette's syndrome is a neurological condition causing involuntary movements called tics.
I use my social media (TikTok, TH-cam & Instagram) to advocate and raise awareness for my conditions and share what it's like living as a neurodivergent and disabled person. I am autistic, sharing my sensory struggles along with my experiences with mental health disorders.
I share the accommodations I use to help my daily life, and I'm an ambulatory wheelchair user documenting my life using mobility aids and how chronic illness symptoms vary from day to day!

Hi Zara! I love your content so much! I rewatch all of your videos because I find them so entertaining. If you do another Q and A, can you answer the question have you ever gotten stuck in a loop or in a tic, and if so, for how long? Also, some of my favorite videos of yours are the tongue twister with tourettes video and the nursery rhymes with tourettes, and I would love if you could remake them.

Love the video as always, just a question have you tried using wheelchair gloves so u don't cut ur fingers definitely help me only down side is if its hot my hands get really hot and I hate that feeling. hope u have a good week.
We use gloves but they're stiff so they kinda cause other problems too. Are there specific types of gloves we should seek out?
@@dragonflies6793 I just use fingerless cycle/bike gloves in the summer when its hot and the ones with finger during the winter

I do travel with a suitcase…
There is either the expensive option of made to click on ones. I do prefer a big shopping trolley clipped with a ‘mummy clip’ onto the bar that goes across my back. A good friend of mine has printed me a stopper so it stays in the middle. Clip it in and off you go. Clip it out and you can roll it around for parking.

You helped me realise that it's okay to use a wheelchair ambulatorily and I've now gotten my first wheelchair, so thank you! Quick practical question: how do you avoid rubber burns on your hands? I ALWAYS seem to scrape the side of my hands (at the base of my thumbs) against the rubber tyres and it's pretty annoying 🙃😅

I flew to California once and it was nerve wracking how I had to be put on the plane a thin board on wheels to get down the narrow aisle bumping my elbows on armrests my butt hanging off each side so uncomfortable. So glad it was only a 90 minute flight or the bathroom would have been an issue. I used to love flying too.

It's amazing that with your autism you're able to not only get public transport but also get public transport with major setbacks. You're genuinely an inspiration ❤
don’t take this video as the norm, i don’t usually travel
for context:
- i can’t usually ever travel alone as it’s not actually safe for me
- i can’t use buses or cope on them (i never take public transport apart from trains sometimes)
- i have to book special assistance in order to even make the journey or it results in meltdowns and lots of tears and getting lost
- i very often have severe flare ups after trips like this and it isn’t easy!
remember vlogs are a highlight reel, and definitely don’t depict every struggle or my capabilities ❤
but also, as i said in the vlog im super proud of what i DID accomplish in this! 😊
definitely not a usual level for me (and had so many setbacks and pretty large problems/breakdowns i didn’t show in this video) but the point is that i did it anyway and managed to enjoy most of it
@@Zara_Beth exactly, it's so good that you're able to look back on your excursions and be proud of yourself despite knowing the setbacks it could cause. Keep being proud of yourself and hopefully the stuff that comes after you travel won't hurt as bad😊

I was wondering if you have any tips to keep things in your lap from falling when you're actually moving? Is it easier in a custom wheelchair to carry stuff in your lap? I only have a cheap one from Amazon right now because I'm waiting to see a doctor about getting a custom one through insurance maybe 😅 whenever I'm moving around anything I try to put in my lap keeps sliding around and I don't know how to stop it

I have ADHD and my legs give out on me sometimes, but I normally catch myself and it’s just normally when I do too much or whenever my leg feels like giving out on me. I am 12 years old.

also, its so brave of you to travel in your wheelchair, especially on the train. when i went on holiday, we had to do a hire chair, which was already awful, because it was broken, and then i had to get on a monorail with it, and it was horrible. So i know how hard it is to get around on trains and i'm so impressed you managed to do it alone as well. Also, people were so helpful!

How do i know if i have either epilepsy, tourette's, tic disorder or nothing (i have seizures too , and I just wanna know what are the symptoms of each one/what happens in each one)
See a doctor. They'll do tests on you to check if your seizures are epileptic.
I could, but I just wanna learn Abt them first so I know what doctor to go to
And also I have tics and I curse sometimes in them too

From time to time I have problems with walking (it takes a lot of energy from me and I just get extremely tired) so I was considering getting a wheelchair myself but the thing that stops me from this, is that I'm scared that I will invoke misfortune and some day actually something bad can happen to my legs and then I would ACTUALLY become unable to walk (like at all).
P.S. That would be an ambulatory wheelchair using but still. I feel like I could challenge God with that.
P.P.S. Also, I think the wheelchair would be useless actually, because I wouldn't even be able to push myself. That would require too much energy from me and I would just end up sweaty after 5 mins. And because I often go to places by my own...yeah.
And I also wouldn't be able to store the wheelchair because I live in an extremely small apartment.

But turth is i what be with boys then girls but I don't know how stop thinking about it
It's possible to carry/pull a suitcase with a wheelchair. Even if it takes some creativity.

yeah this what i thought... if you see an weelchair guy or garl, always check their shoes! if the shoes are dirty, especially if you can see the bottom of the shoe, and has any dirt on, then dont give them a penny or let them cut the line or anything! it pisses me off, that people who can walk, and are just too lazy or obese, then just sit on a weelchair and push their little button and think they will cut the line!
and look at the other one.. all intatooed and overfed (stop giving it food!!)... probably on the inside, just as it looks on the outside, that one... probably just going around and scaring people, because the most scary thing is those people who make it too hard to love them. causes such big inside struggle for normal people. scarry...

You are actually too young and too inexperienced in matters of life and intimacy.....to even really know "who" you are.......much less "what" you are.
Don't label yourself in such a drastic and isolating"silo" until you are at least twice your current age.
Life has much more to offer.....and choices to make than the very narrow options that are calling to you at this time.
At your age, you are to be opening doors to your future ......not closing them.
