    Great video! There's also a third way that I find most common in 2nd wave shops... 1/3 coffee, 1/3 macro bubbles, 1/3 air 😆 At home I like to make make it as frothy as possible while barely being able to draw latte art (texture wise, that art isn't important).

    Second method all the way! I have customers from as far as Chicago (I'm in Cincinnati) come to visit me and have me make them cappuccino. Some people come every day for them...the guy from Chicago told me that cappuccino is hit or miss for him there, but he said I consistently make his favorite cappuccino. His friends who live here say he asks about ke often and wishes he could come more often. Im just happy that people like them!

      Yes you would need to heat it up, unless you arent looking for a warm beverage. Genereally heat to about 155°F before frothing. Or, I heat mine for a minute in the microwave.

    • @CoffeetoArt
      @CoffeetoArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey guys ! A cafe latte usually has more milk than a cappuccino. The ratio is different. In this video I use a 6oz glass, the ratio can easily stay 1:3 because I used a double shot at 18gr. of dry mass. Just to give you a visual idea, if you use a 12 oz cup, you'll need way too much espresso to keep the 1:3 ratio ! Cafe around the world don't want to price cappuccinos at 6-7 $ to gives different optional size. It's just too expensive for the customer. They offers latte format to use less espresso. I hope it hepls :)

    • @nightlessluck
      @nightlessluck 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CoffeetoArt 0:22 if we use 1:3 ratio, and you are using 34-36 ml espresso, it should be 102-108ml milk. How can you said 1:3 but the ratio espresso:milk is 35:150 = 1:4,2 and 35:200 = 1:5,7

    Why is a 3rd wave cappuccino called a cappuccino when it is not (Cappuccino means little cap)? If people like this drink, fine, but they should fine another name for it.

    • @CoffeetoArt
      @CoffeetoArt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey ! You are right. It only depends on the location. here, in Canada, cappuccino's and latte's are made with almost the same milk texture, it's only a ratio matter !

      @@CoffeetoArt I use to live in Montreal near the Little Italy and it is not the way they make their cappuccinos. I don't know what happened (perhaps Starbuck?) but 20 years ago, the only cappuccinos you could get in Montreal were the classic Italian style ones. Even chains like Second cup would serve real cappuccino (Ok, not the best ones but there was still foam on the top).

      @@missj.4760i know what happened. Exactly the starbuck style coffee shops , they couldnt handle the classic way because there is too many orders and less time for a take away style coffe shop , in this modern ways hou cant make cappu latte and flat in same jug and same foam ,taste meh ok but. There's 2 ways to make Cappuccino. Historically speaking, there's enough data to back each single one ! I have a decent load of respect for Italian espresso machines and tools, but for the "process of making coffee" I prefer other sources. Nothing bad, just somewhere else history ! @@CoffeetoArt Both cappuccino's we see today are modern interpretations of the original drink made in Vienna in the 1800s which was made by diluting the strength of coffee with cream until it was the color of the Capuchin monk's robes. I've heard some people think the foam resembles a monk's shaved head, but the Capuchin monks didn't shave their heads. Maybe the hood of foam could also represent the monk's hood? Either way, the original drink was just a measure of the strength of your coffee so both interpretations should be correct.
