    I truly hope that this smear campaign against Bryan Harsin is nothing more than SEC cyberwarfare and not the Auburn family turning on its own. On the other hand, if it is the Auburn family that is treating our first-year coach like this, then we should be embarrassed, ashamed, and completely deserving of all the pain that is coming our way as we descend into the cellar of the SEC. No coach worth his salt will ever touch the Auburn football program again, and I wouldn't blame them one bit.

      I mean it's definitely Auburn. At a certain point everyone is going to have to come to grips with the dysfunctional power structure at the school. There is a whole lot of people who are power hungry and want to do things their way between boosters and the board of trustees. It's been this way for a couple decades now. Some of the power brokers wanted Kevin Steele bad when the job was open. Allen Greene went rogue and hired who he wanted to hire and it pissed a bunch of powerful people off. Some of these guys want a puppet that will run the program how they want it to be run...Harsin is the exact opposite and they hate him for it. He doesn't have any friends amongst the top tier powerful people involved with Auburn

      Well, I believe it since I have 3 brothers from my Auburn family that started this company with me and countless other connections that came from Auburn.

    For folks to make unsubstantiated claims assaulting a man's character, that is despicable to the highest degree. Keyboard cowards trying to take advantage of traction that can be created via social media. I would hate for Coach Harsin to feel he has to win now ONLY to spite the haters instead of for the betterment of the program. And yes, this is coming from a Bama fan who just watched DC Pete Golding give the haters EVERYTHING they need.

    Let's see certain "powers that be" pay all the fans to come back to the games once we boycott their businesses. You'd think, if they really feel this way, after all the talk of we want to hire a coach that can beat Bama and win games, they'd get out of their own damn way and take notes from Bama and Saban. I strongly dislike Alabama football, but I respect the hell out of Saban and what he's been able to accomplish. You guys said it, Bama was that way before Saban. He said nah, I'm gonna do it my way, hold my beer. I stand with Harsin. His record of success speaks for itself and the man has had one year...ONE DAMN YEAR! @@habershamjim I definitely agree with you. I think he'll learn. He had Bobo and Mason throughout the season who had SEC ties and had relationships with some of those recruits. I think Coach Harsin can get to a good understanding of recruiting in our area. Just have to give him more than a year to do it. However, he's got to get the auburn footprint flowing back through the south in recruiting....every position

    One of my kin folk is a college baseball umpire who's also an engineer, he works with an Auburn grad that told him this internet rumor is BS. The boosters are runnin with it cause he's pissed them off and they do want him gone. He also said Harsin's problem is he's kinda a my way or the highway type guy. And maybe he don't know how to talk to folks. Remember back when the top receiver gets kicked off the team, what did my man tweet? "He from the north, I'm from the south, he don't understand me". But, there's a current player that defended Harsin, and mentioned he's not baby-ing folks. That might explain Nix leaving. There was that rumor about Harsin wouldn't guarantee him the startin job no matter what.
    Man, this whole situation could be devastating for Auburn.

    Players leave for a variety of reasons. Bo Nix is just an example. The reason Nix left is likely that this offense doesn't accentuate some of the things that he does best. That doesn't mean there is anything wrong with this offense. It just means it isn't the best fit for Nix to highlight what he does.

    The difference between treating players like kids or adults is a big part about being a disciplinarian. Holding players accountable for their actions is a disciplinarian. It is as simple as saying we expect you to make these grades to play football rather than saying you must go to class or study hall. Now, if you aren't making the grades and you aren't going to class or study hall, suddenly you have consequences. Suddenly study hall and going to class is required. Some players are much more mature than others. See the article on Jabari Smith I shared on twitter. It looks like that kid is mature beyond his years.
    It should also be explained to players that they are to be held to a higher standard. If you are in some bar and get in a fight, it doesn't matter that you say it wasn't your fault. You put yourself in that situation. Don't put yourself in a situation that may put your actions in question.
    There are also types of discipline, such as how you communicate. How are you communicating on social media? What language are you using? How are you representing Auburn? You can have your NIL, but if you are representing Auburn poorly, don't expect to be on the field.

    If y’all love Auburn University, then please pray for Bryan Harsin. I do not mean pray for wins - that would be crossing a line of The Third Commandment- Thou shalt not take the Name of The Lord God in vain. I am saying that people who love Auburn should pray that he is able to take control of a near uncontrollable situation, and that he and his reputation can come out this situation unscathed by a lot of idle chatter [from the “good ol’ boy network “ of Auburn. If Auburn wants a “Nick Saban or Bear Bryant,” Harsin is your guy, and he demands excellence, personal sacrifice, and he will not put up with “personal feelings “ being hurt. He is trying to rebuild a program that has been down, and he wants good people who WANT to be at Auburn University. He has been put in an almost impossible position and situation, and he needs all the help and support that he can get. 🙏

    Mike G, I don't think there was another option than Bo Nix. If they had given Finley or someone else some playing time during the season, maybe they could have become an improvement, but with the limited playing time, they were not an alternative to Bo.
    Bo was injured in game 6. If that wasn't the case, he wouldn't have been pulled. Watch what Finley did in that game. The comeback had a lot to do with Georgia State getting worn down.

    • @dewaynephillips823
      @dewaynephillips823 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bo being pulled in game 6 had NOTHING to do with being pulled vs Ga state! Bo was playing horribly and Auburn needed a boost and TJ provided that! Ga state didn’t get worn out😂😂 zacoby came back on defense in the second half and that was the turning point. That game winning drive by TJ will be in Auburn history whether you like it or not😎🦅

    There actually should be participation trophies, at least in terms of kids buy in. There may be kids on the team that do everything right, put in the right effort, and simply don't have the talent to be great. Those kids should get credit for the effort they put in. If you are on the team, you work hard and deserve credit for doing that. The idea these kids don't work hard is likely incorrect in most cases.

    • @stevevest7206
      @stevevest7206 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why are the Universities Lawyers involved? It wouldn't be for players not liking Harsin nor recruiting issues. The only reason they would be for the alleged affair with a University Staffer. Why: Because if the Head Football Coach is having a sexual relationship with a University staffer, this could potentially expose not only Harsin but Auburn University to a Sexual Harassment Lawsuit. That would be the only reason they would be involved. If this is true, Auburn University could fire him with cause. Most of these contracts have a vague clause stating “otherwise engaging in conduct, as solely determined by the University, which is clearly contrary to the character and responsibilities of a person occupying the position of Head Football Coach or which negatively or adversely affects the reputation of the University". If you are stating that you know for sure that the alleged affair is not true, then they could have to pay him the amount of his buyout to relieve him of his duties. This is very similar to the Bobby Petrino matter. We will know soon enough what is true and what is not true.

      If you guys are correct and all the info or at least most of it was completely false or highly exaggerated, how are all sides going to be able to create a healthy working environment and relationship again. What just happened was really toxic from Auburns end. It does seem Gouge didn't take the bait and wants to investigate and separate fact from fiction, but from Harsins perspective, how does he continue to work for someone that investigated total bs made up by the financiers? It seems like it's untenable. I don't think I could ever continue working in an environment like that. It would be over. Of course, if I had that buyout, I'd make them fire me but the situation would be miserable. I hope Harsin does not see it like I would and is able to put his head down and keep grinding like nothing happened.

    Thank you for how you guys are handling this. This is nothing new. The is where the term JABA comes from and something that has basically happened with every Auburn coach since Pat Dye. The only big difference is how quickly this has occurred and I suspect this is due to the pandemic, NIL, and the new transfer rules. I predicted something like this would happen when Harsin was hired, although it isn't because I am psychic. It is just the normal pattern at Auburn.
    The sad truth is likely that Harsin's time is limited. Once the PTB at Auburn turn against a coach, their time is limited. It could turn into a Jetgate scenario, but even then the PTB will sabotage the program by basically not providing the support needed to the program, whether it be in terms of facilities or budget.
    The scary thing is I have already heard the name of the probable replacement for Harsin. No, it is not Kevin Steele, and I will not share it because it is still highly speculative.
    When it comes to handling situations like this, realize this effects the lives of hundreds, if not thousands, of people. It is not just one man who pays the price. The goal has to be to limit the collateral damage.

      In terms of not seeing what was going on behind the scenes, much of what was going on with Tuberville didn't come out until after he was gone. The description of the environment in the athletic department that came out after Tuberville left was shocking. I could only describe it in terms of being at a company that is continuously experiencing layoffs.

      It terms of how things have changed in terms of what coaches could do, there was a player in the 80s under Dye that actually died during practice. My memory isn't great, but I believe the name was Greg Pratt.

    I agree with your statements and I hope none of this is true. However, if there is evidence to any of this (which I think is false) he would be fired with cause. You're right his personal life is his personal life, but you cannot hire your mistress (see Petrino). But unfortunately this could end badly for him.

    I will say this about Coach Harsin, Auburn is 30 minutes west of the Columbus, GA/Phenix City, AL. He didn't see any of the kids from Carver High, the highly recruited DL from Hardaway, and Central High in Phenix City, AL. Carver High went to the GA Championship and Central High did the same in AL. Coaches Ryan Day, Mack Brown, Dabo Swinny, Nick Saban and even Lincoln Riley flew the USC jet; came to the area and recruited. These coaches visited Coach Pat Nix at Centeal High in Phenix City as well as other local area high school coaches during the recruiting process. Coach Harsin, comes to the area and takes a picture with Coach Nix at the 11th hour or almost last minute. I shakes may head... It's a sin and a shame that all these head coaches, come to the West Central AL/West Central GA. He comes to the Columbus, GA/Phenix City area high school at the very last minute. He knows about the area since he flies out of the Columbus Airport (really Rent-A-Car Terminal). I'm not here to assassinate his character; but, this man could be recruiting from this local area. He could recruit from Middle GA all the way to Middle AL, or wherever he can find talent. Give the man a chance coach the team and win ball games.

    I trust Allen Greene. He will make sure that our coaches have personal and professional integrity. He has proven to me that the Boosters will not be his primary reason for making a decision. I look forward to a statement from Allen regarding the state of the football program and the head coach. I sure hope that our defensive coaches and our head coach will see the value they have in defensive lineman Zykeivous Walker. This kid had an incredible freshman campaign but was severely underutilized this past season.

    Hope "Hars" survives this. I like his hard-nose style; that is what these young people need. As far as 0 players on signing day, well, no one else signed that many players either. I think we had a good signing day overall (f you coumt Dec), for us, and we can still fill some holes in the transfer portal. I wish the sports writers could just keep their mouths shut, and not stick a microphone in front of every discgruntled former player; seems like they (the reporters) are stoking the flame.

    You guys have kinda figured it out. Is Bobby Louder vengeful and sorry enough to implement a bunch of shit like this? You damn right he is.
    I just enough true Auburn people listened to what you had to say and give Harsin a chance.
    I think he has enough drive and determination to fool some folks. He deserves a chance to have more time to see. Having watched him after ball games w/ his family and he doesn't seem like he's the shag the secretary type of guy.

    Well now we know. Harsin said the reason he has taken so long to make hires is he can't get anyone to tell him what he can have for hires for his staff. And even stated he asked Gouge about going and meeting with the board and Gouge said it wouldn't be a good idea.... Auburn internally is a mess possibly a white collar mess

    I'm not in panic mode... Cause Hunters Prichard AL self out here talking about I didn't like the way he talked to me and he don't even know my parents name. Something similar stated from Bo I think. The leavers are bitching about it not be handed to them and it shouldn't that's why. Powers at be are behind the scene are pushing for every angle to put egg on his face so they could move forward with removing him. NOW Derek's weird "Well guys I'm taking sometime off" Then BAM! news lines 24 hours late Derek Mason taking DC job at OKState. Does anyone think these powers to be could even be sabotaging these recruits???!! I know it's a conspiracy theory type thought but how many were we in the running for top two some even stated the number one and bam signing with a whole other team not even as good as the Auburn program wise. All in an effort to try and choke every effort of Harsin to succeed. Makes me wonder so much behind the scenes like coach corn and Dereks lying a** about why he was leaving. ITS INSANE SO MANY QUESTIONS

  • @stevevest7206
    @stevevest7206 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am not sold on Harsin yet, but a coach that says I am going to do it my way, regardless, is exactly what Auburn needs. Auburn coaches getting more conservative as time goes by is something we constantly see. The reason is simple. They don't want to take risks that can be used to justify firing them.

    There is something to consider when looking at recruiting rankings. When it comes to recruiting rankings, what matters is how you recruit relative to your opponents. If all of your opponents are recruiting better than you, it doesn't matter if you have a top 25 recruiting class. You likely aren't going to finish a season in the top 25.

    Tonight's program brought to you by the "we want an interview with Harsin" committee. One of the strengths of this show has been the diversity of opinion among the hosts. Very disappointing to see everyone singing from the same hymnal. Something is definitely wrong at Auburn. So far, Harsin is the common denominator. Too many staffers have quit and too many players do not want to play for him. Instead of attacking them, look into their concerns. Hope you guys don't end up with egg on your faces. I am a big fan of your program even though my post is a bit critical. I was a student at at AU about a decade before you guys and I have never seen anything like this. I love Auburn and I am tired of mediocrity and chaos.

      Did you watch because we clearly said there are issues that need to be addressed and Harsin has things to work on...named specific things.
      Also, we were clear and saying our support of him is separate and apart from his job as a coach. This was about unfair character attacks.
      Thanks for checking us out and supporting.

      A lot to unpack here. First and foremost, it’s okay to have an opinion that’s different from ours. Obviously our platform welcomes that. But it’s a bit unfair to accuse us of having an agenda just because all 4 of our opinions don’t line up with yours on an issue. Let’s just respectfully agree to disagree. Secondly, are you even sure you understand all of our points? During this 2-hour show, we acknowledged that there are indeed issues within the program that Harsin has to own as well. We just don’t think that’s just cause for terminating him after a year. Thirdly, if this does go bad for Harsin, ALL of AU will have egg on our faces, not just TWR. That’s why I’m rooting for him to succeed. I understand your frustration as I’m also tired of the mediocrity and chaos as well but AU is in desperate need of a culture change. The ultimate problem is that a significant part of the AU Family doesn’t want to change.

    Ceasear makes good points why Harsin should be given years, not months, to turn things around.
