I hope Iwo Jima stays within the American mind for the entirety of this nations existence, never should we forget the brave men who fought and those whom died on that island.

And did they cover Biak? Biak was significant and is often forgotten.

How many Japanese were on Iwo Jima? None. There were no Japanese ON Iwo Jima, there were 20,000 Japanese IN Iwo Jima.

5:03 “15 u.s. aircraft carriers”. Did I hear that correctly? In the allele of Philippine sea? Why were there so many in one place? 8:32 “ 34 us air craft carriers” involved in Leyte gulf? I haven’t ever heard that many involved in one battle and I didn’t even know the us navy had that many in there entire ship inventory in 1944

This interview with a 3rd Division Marine veteran of Iwo Jima is one of the most gripping and heart-wrenching I've heard:

British had the big bombs. Why did not USA use those British big bombs agains the Japanese bunkers?

U.S. had Napalm and Willie Pete. And many believe that the flaming-throwing M4 Sherman tanks were decisive in winning the battle.
