This video outlines several different methods of teacher collaboration which includes consultation, teaming, co-planning, inclusion classrooms, and the co teaching models of Marilyn friend and cook. The several co-teaching models include one teach one support, parallel teaching, stations teaching, alternative teaching, team teaching and others. This video is intended for both special education and general education teachers to view as a part of their inclusion classroom where special education students are mainstreamed in the general education population. There are actually more than five co-teaching models, and other examples of co teaching strategies are available beside the five mentioned in the video here. This video is part of a special education playlist brought by teachings in education and frank avella. Other videos in the playlist include the least restrictive environment, categories of students with disabilities, special education law, no child left behind act, the every child succeeds act, mainstreaming, teaching strategies for emotional and behavioral disturbed students, and many many more.

Thank you very much, this is very helpful for us in teaching in the professional education. Brief and concise.

Parallel and alternative teaching would seem to be better replaced by two classes in separate classrooms, since they function as if that’s what they were. The Cons are an artefact of placing two classes in one room, which in all of my experience (40 years instructing students ranging from primary/elementary to masters by research level) is disruptive of everyone’s concentration and thus of their learning.
The three listed in the left column I have found valuable in their place, and I agree with the Cons but they are manageable.

This was absolutely fantastic! I would love to see more videos on Specialized Strategies: STOP, DRAW, POW+ TREE, CAP, TASSEL, WATCH, and SPLASH. These would be so incredibly helpful.

I really like co-teaching/team teaching. Anything else for paraprofessionals can make one feel too much like a middleman.

What instructional system can you suggest for our children with special needs during this pandemic?
