not only Quaxly's evolution line isnt just about Carnaval but it is also a reference to Brazil's martial art which is capoiera hence the fighting type. I quite like it esp the final's idle battle animation which reminds me of Eddie from Tekken but it's dancing

my question is why a region suposedly inspired on spain has a pokemon themed around a former portuguese colony instead of a former spanish colony one?
Spanish went all around our continent and i bet there should one or two countries here with a cultural theme worthy of a pokemon......but nooooo lets pick brazil because them and Mexico are the only two latinoamerican countries that the world knows.

Hell, Spain has one of the most important Carnivals in the world, to the point were it actually had a record guiness to its name. Search Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife for more information.
I personally think they nailed the peacock + Carnival dancer + samba dancer + capoira figher idea they went going with, but I understand that is subjective.
