I've always wanted to watch this film. I saw this video and after watching I immediately purchased the Blu-ray. It's such a meaningful and beautifully put together film. With everything going on in the World the message behind it has never been so important: Even in dire times, and ever changing circumstances that break our norm, we should stay strong, adapt and make the best out of a bad situation focusing on what's important: our immediate family and closest friends. Keep up the great work Nick, I can't wait for the next one!

@@cameronfrye8311 I think @Pogo has fostered a genuinely nice and wholesome community where the comments are actually worth reading, so I'm not surprised he keeps checking in on us 😄. The film made me tear-up in some parts so I thought it was worth sharing. I love Tevye's character development and how he deals with changes to his life and the challenges presented to his values and beliefs. If he wavered, the fiddler appeared to remind him to keep moving forward and prosper, literally in some scenes 😁 I'm just happy Fiddler found its way into my Blu-Ray collection, thanks to Nick for the final push ✌.

One of the greatest lessons in the movie for me is he prays to be a rich man, but in the end realized he had everything he needed. He was rich in family and community.

    • @davidthorvaldsen8903
      @davidthorvaldsen8903 3 ปีที่แล้ว +38

Haven't seen the film but that's a beautiful and true message - that the grass always seem greener on the other side and we always want more (to get richer e.g.), but that often we don't realize just how lucky we are. Imagine having people in ones life that love you and whom you can love back. The highest love though (which is a free gift to all who believe) is found by the cross in the person of Jesus who loved us so much he died for us. Man, I must've listened to this song about 20-30 times tonight - it's so good!!

Some big (Majestic Theater Dallas), some not so big(Local community theater/church productions). At one of his final productions, I was the lead bottle dancer; his real son dancing at his play son's wedding.

I recently watched Fiddler again. Tevye is such a wonderfully written character and reminds me so much of my father whom I lost 2 years ago. He was such a proud man, so protective and masculine in spirit but melted whenever affairs of his daughters were concerned. All he ever wanted between us was for me to be happy and healthy, otherwise he was so supportive of everything I did.
I miss him often and still have his number saved in my phone as "Dad" though it's been long disconnected. This video makes me wish I could call it and hear that familiar "Hey honey!" again. Thanks, Pogo.

Oh my god, I have been listening to this song for 3 months now. It has got to be Pogo's masterpiece! It brings out so many powerful emotions in me and I don't even know why. The video clip is amazing too and he did a great job in editing a summarized version of the film while putting so much power into sound and visual.
Nobody will read this, but MY GOD, there was so many songs I wanted to hug Pogo for, now I am ready to cry in his arms for this one.
The day the song came out, I was so obsessed with it I decided to watch Fiddler on the Roof that very night for the very first time. After the movie, I listened to the song again and burst out crying, overwhelmed by emotions and memories of days past.
I can't get enough of it. Again, I have been listening to it for 3 months and it still hits hard! Pogo has sold his soul to the devil to make this song, and God has reclaimed it when he saw the finished music video.

Literally watched 2/3's of this movie and we had to take a break. But I wanted to say how heartbreaking this movie is. It's the struggle of a father and how he steadily breaks away from tradition for his 5 daughters happiness. Even if it means going against his religion, his god, his traditions, and seeing his daughters go with other men, having them grow up before his eyes and having them fly the nest. I'm at the part where the villagers are pushed off their lands by the tsar for being Jewish and its painful. But at the same time, they are like, what have we here on this earth forsaken land, where we call home? Our ancestors have always been pushed off at a moments notice, and its so sad to see this happening in real life too. Evictions and foreclosures and wars pushing people off their land and homes. It's so refreshing seeing a believer constantly monologue, dialogue with God, who remains ever silent, but listening. This song really gives this sad and yet quirky movie a new happy twist, that I much needed when relistening to this song. I don't know if there is a happy ending for Teyrve. But i can only say that each actor was wonderful and their expressions and the use of silence and body movements is a wonderful change from the current movies nowadays. Recommend the movie! And this song just captures all their hope

      >father breaks away from tradition for the happiness of his daughters
Contrast that with Chapter 7 of 2Maccabees! Where the Mother stays strong to tradition by imploring their sons to stay true to it as well, and they both die a torturous death for true happiness in heaven! That is REAL JUDAISM. Or, shall I say 😏, REAL CHRISTIANITY

The final decision Teyve makes, the 3rd scene in which he debates within himself over a marriage, he chooses his faith over his daughter. I may be wrong, but I believe it's the one time the film specifically explains a decision as being based on faith: not simply "tradition". It's the one aspect of his being that cannot be changed. Hard to say if it's a result of his literal faith in God or the fear of ostracization by the Jewish community. It's a tragic end either way.

This is so poignant right now. For those who don't know what the theme of the movie is:
Tevye is a man who lives a simple life of purpose. As the film progresses, his world begins to crumble around him, yet throughout, he never wavers, he never gives up, because he has his god, his family, and his traditions that see him through even when he loses everything he built.
As our world crumbles around us, remember Tevye. Be like Tevye. Seek purpose in a purposeless world.

13 years later. He’s still making these godly Remix Songs. Even though he is still underrated.
Ignore me being 2 months late XD

Wow I LOVE this one! Great job Nick. It's upbeat, so I can "headbob" to this, but it's also really calming, which is something I love about your style.

Growing up in a Jewish home this was the movie that defined my childhood and you’ve created this beautiful love letter to it. Thank you so much. Recent events have worn my spirit down and this is a true mitzvah that has brought tears of joy, reminding me of simpler times. G-d bless you Christopher. I feel like a rich man.

The 70's were truly a golden age for musical movies, some of my favorites from all time came from that decade alone.
