Most videos do the roof seals before the door seals and they do find a noise reduction with the roof seal alone.

I got a similar kit just purely for the looks alone. If it seals off noise too, that's welcome too :D

Well I decided to push my seal under the original seal. I just forced it in. It's only visible at the roof rack places. Not sure if that seals noise better, but now it's almost invisible, so there goes my looks, lol.

I have had one of these installed for a while. I was not able to make it fit correctly and had to cut it. I didn't notice any sound improvement but kept it in just because it kept stuff out of that crevice. You really got great results on the door seal so I may try that.

I've been reading reviews of some of the different sellers on Amazon. Some people are having issues with them falling out. I bought from one that didn't have any problems with being too loose.

Your decibel readings are highly dubious. A 10 decibel reduction in sound pressure would be VERY SIGNIFICANT, to the point of making the car interior literally the quietest on the road. -3 dB is half the power. The scale is logarithmic, not linear. That also paints the roof gasket and trunk gasket tests as not very reliable. It’d probably be better to just do a subjective test, perhaps with another person in the car too, so you can swap and compare the experience.

Got mine yesterday and have doubts it will make a noticeable noise reduction.

SO IT just goes around front panel----not the entire length of roof correct ?---so I dont stretch it to the back windsheild ?

Yes, just the front panel between the windshield and the rear window. It's been over 4 years and still works

I had a problem that after a few weeks the roof seal pulled under the glass window and the rear corners, so undermining the window. I took it off as I was concerned it would all water ingress into the gap as it has pushed down the original sealing strips.

Since there are many sellers of these roof seals, they may have different lengths. Some are tighter or looser than others. I'm thinking if it is too tight, it will eventually pull under the roof glass . I would recommend people check the seals out every once and a while to make sure. I haven't had that issue, but that is a good point.

@@MTNRanger I did a review and got one with good reviews. I might cut it (I know you are not meant to), and fit it to the front and back as that is where the turbulent air flow is.

I‘ve use a credit card to push the gasket deeper in

I thought of using a plastic squeegee or other tool, but decided not to. I got it in far enough so that it is even with or just lower than the level of the glass. I don't want to press too far to avoid damaging the existing seal. So far I haven't had any issues of it getting loose.

@Tesla Tips by MTN Ranger - Could you share any thoughts after 2 years of using these? Any issues?

    • @MTNRanger

The roof seal has worked well for me. However, I’ve read some Amazon reviews where they are either too loose or tight and fall off while driving.

@@MTNRanger Thanks! Appreciate your response. Good to know that it holds after 2 years.
