I love Leorio bc he's always the guy who express what the audience thinking or saying. He's the most normal character there yelling common senses to these weird ppl (like Illumi or Ging). xD But Ging is a really interesting character too. I like how he's flawed as a person. He knew he should visit his son, he's not idiot. But even Gon being in verge of death, Ging keeps running from him and relies completely on Gon's friends to save him. The manga never revealed why directly, but we can guess. Ging said he doesn't wanted to see Gon because he wouldn't know how to face him and in Greed Island he said to send Gon to Kite if he used "Accompany" card and not "Magnetic Force". I would guess he's just shy and an awkward person socially. He tells to Gon in his tape he's a terrible person after saying he abandoned him because of his own selfish reasons, so it's natural to expect it would be very difficult (especially for him) to meet his own son. He's probably running from his problems and mistakes, he's always doing things that is convenient for him. Ging is a good example of Togashi's type of character, he has a lot of "shonen" traits, but there are a lot of intra and interpersonal characteristics in him at same time that anyone can relate with. It's always a cool approach to see on fictional characters.
Haha Leorio is the friend we all need! 😁 Yeah, Ging is such an interesting and complex character! And it's precisely because of Togashi giving him those characteristics that make him relatable (the characterization is one of Hunter x Hunter's greatest strengths), which is always amazing to see.
It's so funny that everyone including the viewers feels satisfaction by proxy with that punch "Tell everyone to watch!!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I love Leorio so much
I believe GI was a one time thing, bc no one won the game until 10 years later when Gon came so maybe the island just goes back be a regular island afterwards and I think the prisoners Ging employed on the island can be free or at least have their sentence reduced like the prisoners in the Trick tower during the Hunter exam The powers that were used on GI like Breath of Archangel are very powerful and it wouldn't make sense IMO with the limitations of nen if it was an infinite option, like you can just go back and win the card again and again...but still we learned that Ging has access to that level of powers so when he said "Gon won't die" he probably knew for sure that there's a solution out there and my theory is that he knows about Alluka's existence, that's why he wasn't worried There's the "he's my son don't underestimate him" mindset as well but we still don't know if that confidence is based on some nen related ability or just faith in his own genes 😅
We saw previously that a nen exorcist like Abengane in GI and the 'pregnant' ant girl in CA arc have to take literally the burden of someone else's nen on themselves when they remove it : the nen beast stays until the conditions are fulfilled and the ant girl stayed pregnant until Cheetu died,, so the exorcist has to evaluate the 'size' of the burden he'll have to carry and Gon's curse is way too heavy, probably impossible for an average or even genius nen user, so I understand no exorcist would want to take that mission Alluka's power is not exorcism so it doesn't follow those rules but still there's always some equivalent exchange rule at play

I hope to see Kurapika there again. Please animate the manga 😭 I agree with u that revealing Ging's talent to imitate someone's ability is a minor spoiler especially if ur not going to read the manga (other fans will consider it as a major spoiler though). He confirmed that it's not his actual ability, it's just one of his talents. Ging's real nen ability is still a mystery. Also, I read somewhere that Ging doesn't want to visit Gon bec. it will ruin their game of hide & seek. Gon's journey of being a hunter is to find Ging not Ging finding Gon. Hence the title of this anime. But, of course, we know it's not a valid reason as a parent.
It's not a bad idea, but in my opinion Ging is just running from Gon for his own personal reasons. He claimed in his tape he didn't want to see Gon because he wouldn't know how to face him. He even admitted that he's selfish at some time.

We'd love to get more chapters animated (we were tearing up a lot during the last episode knowing there's no more 😭). It could be what you said about Ging (Greed Island is one of the examples), but it could also be what @DanJudi said, that he didn't know how to face him. But yeah, he has to improve a loooot as a parent 😆

Great theory about leorios ability being linked to being able to perform surgery using the portals, ging confirms this a little later in the manga
