    Fun Fact: The swordsman who Indy shoots in the first movie was actually a taxi driver who lived down the road from me in real life. He was supposedily super angry about the scene as he practiced for months for a sword fight.

      Man, the harsh life of the unknown movie extras. Everyone looks at a sick Harrison Ford not giving enough fucks to film the scene properly and 'whipping' out his gun to get it done quickly, while nobody appreciates the SICK SWORD FLIPS AND SWINGS of this dude. Come to think of it, this dude would be right at home in Star Wars. He picked the wrong Lucasarts film starring Harrison Ford :(

    There was a finished port of this by Factor 5 for the Genesis that kept everything intact but ran at the Genesis higher resolution. Might have the made the boulder chase scene a little more palatable.
    Unfortunately U.S. Gold the Publisher folded and no one else came along to release it. A couple years ago the rom was potentially going to get dumped but that seems unlikely now. On a positive note the SNES version was released. That's why having and enjoying both system libraries will always be the way to go.

    In regard to passwords, a lot of people don’t realize that inputting passwords is actually programming the game to reflect a certain series of information. It’s not actually a password like, “open Sesame”. So games that have A lots of complexity like a Metroid needs for you to program in how many missiles to give you, what power ups you have picked up, etc. Simple action games can’t have short passwords because the game only needs to know what level you are on.

    To be fair, on the second stage you can stay a bit to the left from where you start to have a bit more room to see ahead and still not get hit by the boulder.
    Just make sure to keep jumping when climbing the uphill sections or it will catch you.
    Also, the rocks that fall from the ceiling are only for show and the small floor traps won't hit you 99.99% of the time, so you only have to watch out for the tall ones that spring up.

    It's a damn good time. Plays much like the Super Star Wars games, but with a bit less polish. You get quite a lengthy adventure though, as it covers all 3 original films. It looks better than it plays, but if you're up to the challenge, check it out!!

    I was lucky enough to grow up with this game. It's kinda like Super Castlevania, only with more crazy frantic parts like you mentioned. The bridge level and the minecart level made me rage pretty hard. The plane level is easy once you get the trick. I can't tell you it, though. Top men are working on it.

    Thank you for mentioning True Lies in the "Good" movie-based games. Too bad if you used the password system in it to start past a certain point, you couldn't beat the game as it didn't carry over a key item from a previous stage that you needed. I can't remember what it was, and a quick google on Gamefaqs isn't helping as there's only one guide and minimal content on the message board of that game.

    The footage looks like if it's done in the super star wars engine (especially empire strikes back and return of the jedi). It wouldn't surprise me as Kalani Streicher was the lead designer of this game, but he was the director of the super star wars games.
    Note: I know all of this inside ball stuff as I had Streicher as a professor before and he would tell us stories of him working at Lucasarts game studio. He told us that he met with both Spielberg and Lucas in Skywalker ranch (well, he used to work there but the place is massive) to discuss if Indiana Jones could die because... well, it's freaking Indiana Jones. They gave him A LOT of input and crazy ideas on how to make Indy not die, but in the end they told him "do what you think best, you have free reign"

I never played any Indiana Jones on the SNES, but I still own The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles on NES (which is fantastic) and if I remember correctly, he worked on that one too. Speaking of Judge Dredd, theres a good light gun game on the PS1. Thank god my neighbor threw out a pretty good tube Tv a few years back, it even has component hook ups. Its a flat Sharp 25" or 27". Works great! Especially with the GunCons. I made sure to have 2. Id love to see, lets call it a "Cavalcade of Light Gun Games" episode. PS1 has a good amount of light gun games - Elemental Gearbolt, the Point Blank Trilogy, Time crisis, Time Crisis Project Titan, the above mentioned Judge Dredd game, Lethal Enforcers 1&2, Crypt Killer, some Jesse James Western game (I dont feel like looking what its called right now, maybe Gun Fighter?). It may be hard to record thou...

      @tomwaters5090 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Fiazco I would agree with you because Indiana Jones is something that feels a lot more at home in a game like the emperor's tomb than it does in a game where you're figuring out which item to use to advance the game. but I thought I'd put them up there just so people who read these comments in the future would know about them and if they like those types of games they would have that option.
      Also cuz I looked up the infernal machine and at least the steam version they have for the PC got pretty good reviews but I remember James and Mike trying to play through it on one of their James and Mike Mondays where they do let's plays and having difficulty with some of the controls and some of the jump mechanics to get past the first screen I don't remember exactly what the problem was cuz it's been a while since I seen the video but I do remember they didn't think it was a very well put together game from when they tried to play it. But I was surprised to see other people loved it. is it really that good of a game and worth trying to get a copy of?
      Also which version of staff of Kings is worth playing because when I looked it up it was released for many different consoles including the Nintendo DS I think. Too bad there's not an official PC port because I would love to play it in a way that was written for the PC instead of through emulation. because ever since I beat emperors tomb way back in the day when I had an Xbox original I've always wanted to find another Indiana Jones experience like that. Because I thought that game was freaking fantastic I could not stop playing it until I beat it.
      In fact funny story when I had the game I bought it new from GameStop at a time when they would let you return new gamed within 7 days at the time. so it was the 7th night of me having the game and I finally beat it just about a half an hour before my local GameStop was about to close I took the game back got my $50 back and put the money down on the Sims a choice I regret now but I really wanted to play The Sims back then. So I got two games for 50 bucks instead of one. #Beat the system

    My major complaint with this particular game is cramming too much content into one cart. Raiders is missing key action scenes: flying wing and truck chase; Temple suffers from no big Thuggee fight; Last Crusade: missing train sequence/Coronado boat fight, Boat/motorcycle chase and the trial sequences are not well represented...Too much content omitted. Another glaring issue is Raiders' music overplayed in Temple and Crusade scenes instead of their individual scores.
    I'm not sure if it was a rights issue or not why these were not released like the Star Wars ones on each separate cart.

    my favorite Indiana Jones game is always going to be Indiana Jones and the emperor's tomb which was released on PS2 Xbox and PC I believe. That is probably the closest I've ever felt like I was part of an Indiana Jones movie. Fantastic game very similar to a tomb raider but with Indiana Jones flare
    Also another great couple of Indiana Jones games are the old Lucas Arts point and click adventures a lot of people really like them because of the choices and the many ways to go through the game well like two but that was a lot for the time . The titles were Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis and Indiana Jones and the last crusade: the graphic adventure

    When I was a kid in the 80s I has an Atari 2600. I reaaally wanted the Raiders of the Lost Ark game, but I never got it.
    In retrospect, that game looks terrible. But I loved the movie and I just wanted to play as Indiana Jones (or some 8 bit clump of blocks that they told you was Indiana Jones, at least).

    The game does actually feature the famous swordsman scene, but not where this video states. More fitting the gag in the film, he arrives as a much more imposing boss character, yet can be dispatched with just a single shot of the handgun. (Which makes the fact that the various grunts take 8-10 shots even more ridiculous...)

    This is an interesting game by one of the era's most talented European developers Factor 5. Factor 5 was the vehicle for Manfred Trenz, arguably the greatest single developer of Commodore 64 games there has ever been, he really knew how to rag every inch out of that system in the same way someone like Treasure knew how to get the most out of the Mega Drive. Also at Factor 5 was Chris Hulsbeck, author of the Turrican soundtracks as well as other games, and all round one of the very best composers of music for pre-CDROM era video games there has ever been. If you have never heard the soundtrack for the Amiga version of Turrican 2 and you are into these classic old games, you owe it to yourself to see just what this man could do with 3 to 4 tracks of audio and about 100kb of space on a floppy disc. Don't trust that you heard the music from the Mega Drive or SNES versions of Turrican, so it will be just the same on Amiga. No, he made the Amiga in particular sing.
    Anyway, that was one gigantic sidenote. This game has a good pedigree, it is kind of the same deal as the Super Nintendo Star Wars trilogy, and is well worth a few hours of your time to try.

      @SNESdrunk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I forgot to mention that if anyone doubts F5's skills, one need only look towards what they managed to do with that Gamecube Star Wars game, what was it Rebel Assault 2?
      Though I know Trenz and Hulsbeck had certainly moved on by that point.
