Simply by the sheer number of trains that pass through Haymarket gives you an idea of just how busy and important a station Edinburgh Waverley (by far Scotland's biggest and busiest railway station) must be and the sheer number of passengers it must see.
At the time, Winchburgh tunnel was closed so there were no trains to Glasgow Queen Street via Falkirk High. The only trains to Linlithgow and Polmont were the Dunblane trains so they were busier than usual and hence the longer trains.
poole train boy I know it just seems strange seeing virgin branding on a hst. What is een stranger is the VTEC is 90% stagecoach and 10% virgin so shouldn't the livery be more like East Midlands Trains?
They reversed at Dalmeny and took the route to Linlithgow. If you check google maps south of Dalmeny, you can see the line branching off to the west to Linlithgow.

Ah! the good old Virgin Trains - oh how we miss you, Virgin.
I was on the Dundee to Waverly that arrived at Waverly at 15:28
Very lucky to see your train in the video then
I think they're should be at least 1 terminus platform at haymarket for E.G Cowdenbeath to Haymarket sevice etc
Rare to see a single class 334 coming from thier to Edinburgh
I'm guessing the Dunblane service is big considering its never 1 train it's always a Combi of 170/170 or 170/158

@@TurboFintan thanks
@@TurboFintan rare to see a 156 going so close to Dundee at Kirkcaldy I'm not used to seeing them I'd thought that service would be run by a 158
Seeing the hst in virgin livery again seems strange as this was the livery they wore on virgin west coast!
Trainboy350 no they wore diffrent it was black and red

Trainboy350 yea i guess it is but i think stagecoach wanted the virgin branding and logo
Strange to see class 156 in fife
liked watching all that
so I take it that turbostar was going from Edinburgh to Edinburgh but it was taking the Fife Circle?
+Darren Harvey It was an empty train that reversed at Haymarket Depot, so it was just a positioning move to free up platforms at Waverley station.
TurboFintan thanks man
Darren Harvey dose it really matter
Lewis Smiles what
Darren Harvey could've been glasgow
Apologies I meant to say service
So if a service is cancelled EG Edinburgh-Glenrothes then does that service go back to Edinburgh or does it go to the depot?
In this case it was heading to depot, probably due to a fault with the train
@@TurboFintan Yeah that could happen well with old trains some can be unpredictable but yeah thanks again for the info I appreciate your help
How did the Dunblane trains go via Dalmeny?

Why did no Glasgow Queen Street-Edinburgh trains show up ?
At the time of filming, Winchburgh tunnel was closed due to engineering works so no trains ran between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh.
Yes. I was working Threre
It was that doh
