If you could take one home what would you pick? (Assuming you or your heirs can’t ever sell it to buy something else) I’d take the Darrell Waltrip Pennzoil car 😂
Love how the tour guide is talking as if he isn't speaking to a seasoned Nascar fan bc I'm certain a lot of people that come through these tours might not even have known about Richard Childress being a driver and how his career played out. Which is in itself a pretty inspiring story that shows that just because you aren't the best at something doesn't mean you can't pave out a great career if you're willing to put in the work. Another great video Mitchell!
Logan is my hero!!!!! We both love the old Wrangler cars. Mitchell. The 1987 Wrangler Aerocoupe MC , the last 3 races had a GM Goodwrench colored chassis prepping for 88 😊
Mitchell - you’ve got life all figured out. I’m jealous. Working in your passion, found a girl with the same interests, and the ability to create and promote all of this to the world. Great job!!!!
Thanks for the tour of glory road, very interesting.I just love to hear the old timers tell stories or hear stories about them.Nice to see Robert Huffmans #37 White House Apple Juice racecar,5 time Champion, and a great racer.
Thanks for the tour. I asked Ryan Newman why Darlington chewed up tires so fast, he said that the asphalt had sea shells in the mix, which was unique. Every track was unique to tire wear. I am fascinated on the older cars, late 80's and older, by how they were built and raced. Always wanted to do a nascar themed build of a mid 70's Monte Carlo or Laguna, like Childress' car.
Tom Jensen sure knows a wealth of information. Great job of capturing this tour and adding some questions that made the tour better! Many of us will never step foot inside the HOF, but your videos allow us to do so through your video shoots! Keep up the great work of videoing and editing the content.
Robert Huffman son races as well, and has been using his dad's old race shop, fixing it up, while winning his first Nascar weekly series championship out of that shop at Hickory Motor Speedway. Landon Huffman has his own TH-cam channels with one of them dedicated to behind the scenes racing endeavors, and the other dedicated to the podcast he recently began doing. Landon and his crew are a hoot, and I enjoy interacting with them, and yes I would definitely follow what Landon is doing including if he manages to get to Nascar's top three series, even know that pains me to say.
Happy that Jeff Gordon's World Famous "Blacker" car is in the NASCAR Hall of Fame.. but I wish the ultra famous Jeff Gordon "T-Rex" car was in the hall of fame.. that's a car you should do a vlog about
I visited the HOF 2 years ago now! It was really cool to see how the sport has changed, and it's cool to see that they're changing it occasionally! My favorite part was the driving sim.
Hey Stapleton42, did you notice that Nascar reposted your video? That is an honor to have the sanctioning body repost a video. Congrats and keep up the history saving.
What you do to save the racing history is what the HOF does as well, so I can definitely see them working very well with you. Keep it up and keep up the great content.
I'm really enjoying all of these Nascar history videos. Y'all do great work. Thank both of you for the hard work you do for these videos. I've been a Nascar fan since the 60's.
I got to go to the Hall of Fame in 2013. That place is VERY special to me being from Rome NY. My dad helped Richie Evans build his first oval car, the Green PT 109. With Richie now in the Hall of fame, a picture of the car my father helped build sits in that building and is part of the video that plays at Richie's spot in the hall of honor. My dad and grandpa were licensed NASCAR drivers on the local level for a few years, so to see some kind of trace of his racing past sitting in the hall of fame is just something I can't wrap my head around. A small part of my dad is always going to be a hall of fame visit away and I'm so lucky to have that.
The Josh Berry story is one I follow, was always an Earnhardt fan and with both done, Josh is where my following has picked up. On another note, the Richard Petty Racing experience needs to have an older car in it that you can drive, how amazing would that be! Thanks for the video's, love you guys do these!
I was lucky enough to visit the Hall on my birthday this past fall in the final months of the previous version of Glory Road. Cannot wait to see this one in person this spring! Thank you for your content. It's every 90s/00s NASCAR kid's dream!
Funny story, I was in Uptown Charlotte few times. I stayed at The Hilton behind the hall. 2 years apart, different occasions, but i think i was in the same room. Lol. I stopped by the hall in ‘21 on my way to Myrtle Beach. I wanted to check out the cars Dale Jr had there. Wish I bought a ticket there cuz theres a few things i wanna see that they added. Hopefully soon ill return
Talked to Tim when I was down there in October. Great guy to talk to and gave me a little personality tour for me before they opened up . Thanks for another great video buddy!
Thank you so very much for doing this for all of us who have never or may not ever have the opportunity to go see this amazing display!!! Your work will inspire and motivate new generations for many years to come. Again thank you very much!
100% agree that Earnhardt's 1987 Wrangler car is the best paint scheme. It can be replicated...and has been many times, but you can't beat originality. Props to you guy's and Tom Jensen for all the info...it is appreciated.
When the Dale Earnhardt souvenir trailer made its way to Texas Motor Speedway in the 2001 season, thousands of fans and I graffitied their goodbyes to The Intimidator on the trailer from top to bottom. An internet search of what happened to that trailer is what brought me to your channel. I'm subscribed and enjoying the channel.
Excellent video once again on NASCAR history and related subjects, you guys sure rock with this quality of video content! I am certainly appreciative of your & Logan's efforts in making these videos, and am right there with you. Am out of town right now but have a decent wi-fi hookup so not missing this! Thank you so much!
Another excellent video! Pretty cool to see Rob Huffman's Goody's Dash Series car in the lineup there. Rob's son, Landon, was this year's Hickory Motor Speedway track champion. He's been doing some neat stuff running his late models out of his dad's old race shop, which they have been in the process of restoring to it's old glory. You're probably aware of all of this, I'm just typing LOL. Keep up the fantastic work!
Glad to see some COT there. I think the only COT in the whole building last time I visited was Tony's 2011 car in the new inductees area. No it wasn't NASCARs glory years and many of us (myself included) thought they were ugly but they were a huge leap forward in safety technology and a big moment in NASCAR history.
You should've asked the tour guide when Smokey Yunick was going to be inducted! 😄At least they had his '67 Chevelle on Glory Road a few years ago. I know you do a lot of History Tours around the NC area but down in Daytona there's a lot of history too; not just at the track but in town as well, Smokey's shop might be a vacant lot today but his Daughter Trish or the Flis Brothers (Todd or Troy at Flis Performance, they might not compete in Cup but they have been involved in pro motorsports in Daytona for 30 years and definitely have connections to former cup mechanics, shops etc.) they could help give some good history lessons and show off some of the old race shops in town; the old Crane Cams factory was there too. Who knows maybe you could get Mike Skinner to do an interview with you down there too (if he's still living down there).
Love these videos I still watch NASCAR and for the most part I don’t mind the modern changes but I have respect for the older stuff👍🏻 Anything NASCAR related I absolutely love 🏁
Glory road my favorite. I dig how the guy pronounced Osterling. Some one needs to correct him cause i had no idea who was referring to. Give the dog a bone. Great AC/DC tune.
Hi Mitch and Logan. When I was stationed in Virginia we went to Martinsville Speedway that was cool place. Later I was stationed in California and we went to "Sears Point" Sonoma raceway. I met Davy Allison there after Clifford died. We had a nice talk. My wife was crossing the bridge at the track and walked into Benny Parsons. He was doing the ESPN thing at the time. I've watched a few races there. I had went down south for training and went to Riverside raceway once. Got to see Petty race. I'm involved in Drag racing now a days. Thanks for the video You guys Rock 🏁🏁🏁
I Like Generation 1 1957 To 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air And Impala Following By Generation 2 1976 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Finally Generation 3 From 1981 Buick Regal To 1993 Chevrolet Lumina Iconic NASCAR Thanks For Uploading
Thank You, a lot of info that needs to be out there for the kids of the future, you're doing a lot to make sure the future AND present knows the little things that mean so much 😀
Great video as always. At the very beginning in the background, I saw Biffles 50 truck and at first thought it was the Midwest Transit Racing No. 50 that Ricky Craven and Rick Mast drove, and I'm thinking, what is that pile doing there, that team never did anything noteworthy.
Checking this out from the Swamps of F.L. Very Kool! As a Nascar modular this is great stuff for correct deatails on the historic/legends rides from back in the day. THX for your vids and history lessons. Keep um commin. Just like u, i am a geek on this stuff. Lol
18:18 that looks REALLY close to my 99 buick century (of all things lol) . "auburn night mist" is the paint code..... goes from a purple to a brown LOL but still a cool paint
Hey man idk why but I was just sitting here and reading about Red Farmer and he’s an interesting fella and is still racing at 91 years old. You need to do a tour of his home and shop it was sadly damaged by a tornado in 2021 but I bet he still has some cool stuff and stories
Love watching your video and going back in time hearing story from all the guys I grew up watching. Kerry seem like such a humble guy and would love to hear about his racing career
Jack Roush used to have a competition called the gong show! on a yearly basis he would pick resumes from young drivers in other smaller circle track environments. And bring them to a track to test against his current NASCAR drivers. It was a way to bring in Youngblood up to the NASCAR level. It was the last open Path to NASCAR racing without buying your way in with cash has a driver
Love these History vids. To change stuff up a lil from NASCAR (which I love too) try expanding into NHRA & IndyCar since those 2 seem to be losing viewership more than NASCAR when I turn on the races or go to em. Big Daddy Don Garlits & maybe AJ Foyt would be amazing to hear from
Richard Petty's Dodge Charger to me is the best looking race car ever. I was at Rockingham and the Petty Blue and Day Glo Red was The Best looking stock car ever to me. I also loved the Modified Cars. They were so cool and still are. The off set wide tires and the way the are set up, they just look so cool and fast when they are lined up sitting on the track.
4:24 my dad has a 72 plymouth satellite sebring plus (with a 440 dropped in place of the OG 400) . i have ALWAYS loved that body style and front grill however... it seems like im the only one who cares LOL not much footage of that car racing
First of all love with you guys are doing on this channel, big fan here. As far as IROC goes absolutely one of my Fondest Memories of 80s and 90s racing. As a huge fan today as well as my children Ray has our vote for sure.
What D Earnhardt said is very true. Even if they don’t like you their making noise. Case in point… at Michigan last year when Kevin Harvick won, I was at the Fed X trailer getting a hat and everyone one was slinging S*** on K Busch. But when you looked back at the grand stand Skittels where everywhere. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Great video thanks Big Stape and Lo Glo💪 You guys are doing so much to preserve the history of so many things on a larger scale and for that I'm grateful for every video you guys post. I would love to see some replies to this from others in the chat to see if I'm on to something or if I'm just crazy but, the #1 Darrell Waltrip car is all wrong. The body is at least a 2000 cup body to about 2002. The decals are from a 1997-1999 monte carlo package in the front, but yet the rear lights are again from the 2000-2002 body package. Really threw me off when I saw it. For a NASCAR Hall of Fame level car, that is something I would think the Museum would have picked up on. That can't be the car that he is talking about from 1998 100% when he won that race. The body is not accurate. Maybe the chassis is, but the body is not. That body is 100% at least a 2000 body at the earliest with some 1997-1999 headlight package to pass it off as that race car from Pocono
You are correct. I believe that is the chassis from those races in 98 and instead of re bodying the car DEI just painted it with the 98 livery and gave it to him as is. If I recall correctly it was a gift from Michael. Probably run as an ARCA car or backup by 2002.
The thing I’d I’d like to know. Is What kind of basement does this place have. Do they store any cars down there? With all those cars on display. And then constantly changing then out. You got to imagine there’s probably has to be some cars down there.
We were able to go down there but couldn’t film anything. There are some cars. Mostly ones formerly on display waiting to be picked up by their owners. Nothing totally mind blowing honestly the basement is far smaller than I expected
Okay 2 things about this... 1. The tour guide mentioned Dale Jr's owner championships, but failed to mention his back to back driver's titles in the Busch (Xfinity) series that he won in 1998 and 1999 2. I still love the Bubba Wallace #34 tribute truck
EDIT: He also didn't know that the 2022 Daytona 500 car wasn't put in the Daytona museum due to parts shortages last year, but they scanned the car the same night and wrapped a Ford test car for the museum instead
So many great cars its hard to pick a favorite!
If you could take one home what would you pick? (Assuming you or your heirs can’t ever sell it to buy something else) I’d take the Darrell Waltrip Pennzoil car 😂
All or any Petty cars.
@@Stapleton42 Honestly, The #92 Bel-Air, or the #34 Wendell tribute
Not my favorite but I'd have to take the 88 national guard car.
@@Stapleton42 the modified. I used to race the modern version of them(stopped racing them in 2020).
Love how the tour guide is talking as if he isn't speaking to a seasoned Nascar fan bc I'm certain a lot of people that come through these tours might not even have known about Richard Childress being a driver and how his career played out. Thank you Matthew. In a way I am glad he took the ground level approach. This will be a good video for newer fans.
Richard Childress is the GD man
U have the best interview questions not just dry boring interviews!
Thanks John!!
The actual car that Gordon drove at Watkins Glen to get Chevrolet to 500 wins is in the Hendrick Museum.
Thank you Tom!
Yeah definitely got it figured out. His "girl" ? I'd say she's got his foot in many doors. God bless her.
I love the Robert Huffman DASH car! Sure wish NASCAR would bring that series back!
Thanks for the tour of glory road, very interesting.I just love to hear the old timers tell stories or hear stories about them.Nice to see Robert Huffmans #37 White House Apple Juice racecar,5 time Champion, and a great racer.

Wish I knew more about the Wendell Scott, Bubba Wallace connection. I'm a hardcore Earnhardt fan. But also a hardcore Nascar fan and that's awesome.
They only share the talking point of being black.
Hey Stapleton42, did you notice that Nascar reposted your video? That is an honor to have the sanctioning body repost a video. Congrats and keep up the history saving.
Yes I did. We collaborated to make this video with the HOF!
What you do to save the racing history is what the HOF does as well, so I can definitely see them working very well with you. Keep it up and keep up the great content.
Dale's Wrangler no. 3 was my favorite paint scheme as well.
That scheme is one the reasons my race cars are yellow and blue to this day (not the only reason but one the reasons)
I'm really enjoying all of these Nascar history videos. Y'all do great work. Thank both of you for the hard work you do for these videos. I've been a Nascar fan since the 60's.

Thanks for the tour of the new Glory Road! The NASCAR Hall of Fame is one of my favorite places in the entire world. A must visit for any race fan.

I love watching your channel grow and the awesome content. I dont watch nascar anymore but still love the older stuff
I understand. History is fascinating
Love to see the Modifieds up on that Glory Road. Although for the 75 year anniversary, it should be an Evans car on their! Great video
Can we applaud this curator holy cow what a wealth of knowledge!

Fan of that #1 Steve Park car
The man has a wealth of information about the history of circle track racing, so cool😎😎😎
I've said it multiple times but you need to keep hearing it, the videos and shop tours are amazing. Keep doing what you do.
Thank you sir!!
Great cars all of em. Guy knows his history! I'm with you on the Pennzoil car Mitch!!!! Thanks!!!!
Thanks Dave!
You should've asked the tour guide when Smokey Yunick was going to be inducted! 😄At least they had his '67 Chevelle on Glory Road a few years ago. Glory road my favorite.
I dig how the guy pronounced Osterling.
Some one needs to correct him cause i had no idea who was referring to.
Give the dog a bone. Great AC/DC tune.
Nice to see the Goody's Dash Series finally get some representation on Glory Road
Love the Wendell Scott Truck and story behind the number/color
Thanks for this! We're going to Charlotte in May for the Coke 600 and plan to spend a week there visiting race shops and for sure the Hall!
Hi Mitch and Logan. When I was stationed in Virginia we went to Martinsville Speedway that was cool place. Later I was stationed in California and we went to "Sears Point" Sonoma raceway. How Bout that Josh Berry Car!
Amazing listening to this gentleman and mad respect for you to just let him talk even though I am sure you know all this stuff... Very cool video!

Our pleasure!
I like that they have the Waltrip #1 car on display. Always enjoy a new vid.
Thank You, a lot of info that needs to be out there for the kids of the future, you're doing a lot to make sure the future AND present knows the little things that mean so much 😀
I appreciate that!
better show than actual race plz keep it up
My first Nascar race was in 1959 at Martinsville and they were racing convertibles. I was 5 and I just remember it being very loud and very dusty.
Always super cool hearing history like this. Love it.
Glad you enjoyed it! We appreciate you Chuck
Great video as always.

"auburn night mist" is the paint code..... goes from a purple to a brown LOL
but still a cool paint
Love how the 2010 Jimmie Johnson "championship car" has the wing on the back

I’ve always wanted to go to the hall. Going to make it there sometime.
Another awesome video. Well done.
Great job! Keep up the great work you do!
@@Stapleton42 how small would you say? About half the size of the actual building?
Love your videos man, racing nerd history at it's best.
Great tour and video guys. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much!
Okay 2 things about this...
1. The tour guide mentioned Dale Jr's owner championships, but failed to mention his back to back driver's titles in the Busch (Xfinity) series that he won in 1998 and 1999
2. I still love the Bubba Wallace #34 tribute truck
EDIT: He also didn't know that the 2022 Daytona 500 car wasn't put in the Daytona museum due to parts shortages last year, but they scanned the car the same night and wrapped a Ford test car for the museum instead
@@TheMrtgamer Penske did end up giving the authentic Cindric 500 win car to Daytona to display in the museum.
Great job Mitch & Logan: Love the content 🙂
