im glad I saw this video as I'm about to probably swap out my 95 solenoid. I had no clue there was a harness for the gear selector.... I can't seem to get mine to hit 3rd no clue whats wrong really dont fee like taking it back out again...
I followed the transgo kit instructions for the check balls very precisely it took me two weeks to make sure I had everything just right. My fear is that maybe something could have slipped past the filter and clogged things up. Is that possible?
A bit confused I have a 93 bronco and my buddy gifted me a 95 e40d that I want to slap in. So you’re saying all I have to do is replace neutral safety switch and solenoid pack from 93 trans to the 95 and I should be solid?
Another question. I noticed the input shafts on the 93 vs 95 are different. 93 is a little longer. I’m using the dame torque converter seems like it went in perfectly. Will I see any issues there ?
So now I’m confused lol, I have a 1994 f-150 I believe I put a 1995 trans and transfer case in it, I was told the trans was good when I bought it, it feels like it’s slipping and not wanting to go into different gears. The current plan is to replace the shift solenoid and if that doesn’t work rebuild the whole trans. So I would have to put my shift pack and other connector you were saying from my 94 to my 95 trans?
Anyone know if you can ultrasonic clean one of these? I assume so. Just found tonight as I was about to start putting fluid in the electronics differences. Atleast I can pull the old pack.
based on this video, it seems the solenoid pack from my 1995's GOING BAD e4od wont fit into the 1993 e4od i just bought? due to plug being different? am i wrong.
Swapping out transmission in my 95 to a transmission from a 94 and it all fits but truck won't start or crank over would Swapping these out fix that problem
I have a 1991 4.9 Ford F-150 and it started shifting super hard into each gear. Would the 1993 solenoid pack work for my year transmission. Because I can’t find the one for my truck anywhere online
those are not resistors but diodes, just cut them with a plier and shall work fine. also can just solder them to make it work on older style. called general diodes nothing special. just follow the same direction of orientation mark on the didoes.
Hi using a good e40d 1994 transmission out of a 1994 idi for 1995 powerstroke for a a bad e4od for a 95 PS is this the only swap I need is this solenoid and selector switch?
Ford no longer makes th E4OD solenoid packs you have to buy aftermarket if yours go bad. Most are rebuilt in Malasya and are junk. I had my transmission replaced about a month ago and am on my 4th solenoid pack. It operates smooth as silk for 200 or 300 miles Luckily i have a 2 year warranty so the shop replaces them at no cost. I'm seriously considering converting to a stick.
@@jobetipsandtricks5680 I rebuilt and upgraded an E4OD that I swapped into my '79 F-350 it wasn't too bad. Parts are MUCH less expensive for an automatic than a stick. Automatic transmissions are also generally stronger than a manual box.
@@DaveMcLain That's awesome you were able to do that and have success 👍 For me and my personal experience automatic transmission fail way to often. Mostly due to lack of maintenance, people seem to forget that you have to service transmissions just as much as you do the motor. Manufacturers seem to forget that adequate cooling should be a priority. Honestly working at a transmission shop for 5 years only showed me just how unreliable automatic transmissions are and how much they cost to repair. The reason I say standards are more reliable are from the number of them we had to repair and numbers don't lie the number one failure for standard transmissions is the clutch and slave cylinder with the clutch being more like a transmissions service and not a failure but either way, less expensive than a transmission rebuild.
I'm swapping 89 f250 460 e4OD and Bronco 5.0 e4OD. Your video's answered alot of questions for me. Thanks

I don't even know where to begin... I just rebuilt the transmission with a level 2 kit. I replaced the pump torque converter and reverse sprag

If the plug is not in or making contact would the trans default to fourth gear? Or would first and second and reverse work fine? 95 e4od
how can I test those two things and correct it if that is the problem?
+Jobe odom tell me more about this vacuum thing? oh what I get in drive is the same as low 1 so that makes me think it's 1st.

Got 93’ f150 e4od trans. Won’t shift into 3rd. Park,Neutral,Reverse, 1+2 all works but won’t shift after 2nd.. any suggestions
I have the same problem In my 1990 5.8 bronco with a e4od what can I try I changed the vss sensor and position sensor already

Any idea why 1994 E40D goes Neutral on the Highway at Random Occasions then goes back into Gear on its own in a couple of seconds?

1993 e4od through 1997 e4od selinoid packs are the same I just installed a 97 into my 93 f250 and everything worked perfectly

I have an odd one . 96 7.3 PS. E40d . She likes to hang out in second for a touch longer than other gears on acceleration . Any starting point ideas?

Been trying to find something for the other way around 👍
I’m trying to do the same. I want my 93 solenoid pack in my 95 trans
I got a 96 e40d won’t go into 3rd or 4th no slips or anything happened after I changed the oil pan gasket oil and filter

It seems like it would be easier to just get a solenoid pack from a core transmission than switch to a stick shift.
@@jobetipsandtricks5680 Stick shift setups aren't necessarily a bed of roses when compared to an automatic. They have their problems too.

Well damn..I just took out my transmission 93f150 put in 95 e4od..my plugs don't match...huh
buy the plug conversion kit
