Different mutes for different toots. Another great library for sound-painting, and with the discount the price is a no-brainer. Love your boundless enthusiasm, Troels.
Thank you!
Yet another beautiful instrument. Thanks Troels & all Soundpaint developers! A splendid presentation too.
Thank you!
Great sound again and great library. The wizard of sound did it again 😁😁🤩 thank you so much for this fabulous library.
Awww - Thx Maliki!
@@Soundpaintmusic Just downloaded it :) Thx again :) greetings from Belgium
Just another reason why Soundpaint is my "go to"!
I also appreciate your comments about having to really play with the instrument. It's one thing to buy it, it's another thing to really exercise it and put it through it's paces. It'd be great if you could provide some guidance in the Discord on how you'd recommend someone really give it a workout, with the intention of learning what it's capable of.
Thanks, Troels!
Thanks Ken. You know … I think a part of it is to our ears with that we wanna learn. There has been studies done on this and the brain picks up a lot of stuff - even when not fully focused. What I mean is … if you wanna learn Trumpet … Listen to trumpet … watch youtube videos and see how they phrase. It’s individual for each instrument - like every human has their own voice, language, accent and dialect. I have never had an hour of any formal training, so to me it’s all about the h(ear)t. ❤️❤️ Cheers Troels
Always amazed at the amount of work that goes into these libraries. Looking forward to this one.
Thank you! It really is years of efforts, but in a strange way this rebirth in Soundpaint makes it all worthwhile.
That Bright Synth patch is pure gold. What a box of treasures.
Great demo! Sold me. Just got it, and looking forward to building some shimmering walls, and other world melodies!
Thank you! It really is sweet and delightfully rewarding to use. Natural emotion in the samples.
Exactly what I was looking for. Soundpaint's instruments are so great!
Thank you! 🙏🏻
Considering the fact that I've got plenty of various libraries with good trumpet instruments, this dedicated library sounds very realistic sounding. The first muted trumpet sounds very good as well. Great library.
Thanks Kappa!
Super sweet sound!
Thank you 😋
One of my favorites of the Century series! But I gotta be honest, it really pains me to see libraries I've invested hundreds upon hundreds of dollars not long ago, now being sold for the price of a McDonald's meal. 😔
It is a bit jarring - although I did buy my Century Library on a steep discount when it was on sale
It appears 8Dio is slowly moving their catalog into SoundPaint and perhaps eventually won’t do any Kontakt instruments. Which would explain why they’re not doing anything new right now. The dev resources are focused on moving existing assets into SoundPaint. Not a bad move IMO, but eventually they have to come up with something new. They can’t keep re-using old products in a new plug-in forever.
Gorgeous.🎺👍
Glad you like it!
Sounds awesome. I was planning on buying the Kontakt Century Brass bundle. Will the whole bundle be available to purchase via Sound Paint?
Yes, indeed. Century Solo Brass will be fully converted into Soundpaint over next couple of months and then the Ensemble will follow.
@@Soundpaintmusic wonderful. Will there be a bundle price?
For real no cap this goes hard
Thx U Good Job !!!!
THANK YOU TROLLS FOR THE HARMON MUTE!!!! The wait has been worth it. While you're on a roll, how about a CHROMATIC HARMONICA ala TOOTS THEILMANS and GEGOIRE MARET ?
I love that idea Craig. A really nimble Theilmans style Harmonica. Putting on the dream list! Cheers, Troels
thanks especially for the harmon mute - I wish you guys had done some crazy sounddesign patches with it to really explore some Miles vibes, but hey - we soundsailors should be capable of doing stuff like that by themselves now...
Our pleasure!
I would love a big band horn library with this technology
I agree - and we are working on it! Cheers, T
@@Soundpaintmusic please can we have the wah wah plunger mute, that is playable?
Dame I want this
That`s the REAL Solo Brass! One question. Can I delete unwanted preset / sample folders inside the "parts" folder without running into problems, because I don`t have enough place on my HARDdrive?
You should be able to, but maybe take a backup before you experiment. And remember to do a full rescan after any modification.
@@Soundpaintmusic Thanks, Troels! Yes, this is my plan / concept too, to make backup from all. I wish you a GREAT weekend!
Wait, this was recorded in the Czech Republic? Now we have another company recording in czech.😂
Congratulation for this wonderful new release in the Sound Paint family... Just a little observation, I am wondering why you have decided to leave out the flutter tongue articulation. Best regards, MaxT
The Trumpet does have flutter tongue articulation. You can see articulation list here. soundpaint.com/products/century-solo-brass-bundle
@@Soundpaintmusic Thanks for your kind reply and apologies for my oversight of the flutter tongue articulation. Best, MaxT
Does the trumpet have a breathiness control?
At 2:50 you mention there are 127 dynamic layers in this instrument. How many were actually recorded?
Great question. It depends on the given articulation. But we max out about 5. But Soundpaint has a proprietary format called RTS, which stands for real-time samples. The engine creates new samples from existing ones - offering a more fluently sensational of fidelity. So for example if we have 4 dynamics on the sustains - we now get up 127 variations as the engine will create new samples of those on real-time depending on what you do.
@@Soundpaintmusic I anticipate a yt comments answer may not do this justice, but how do the "RTS" samples approximate the timbre of the trumpet at different dynamics, given that far fewer than 127 have been sampled?
Is it possible to emulate a mute on the legato? Maybe create a program for that.
Yes. It is to a degree. To emulate a muted trumpet using EQ and filter on a trumpet VST, try the following:
1. Go to Effects > Filter > Ladder > Low-Pass. Apply a low-pass filter around 3-5 kHz to reduce high frequencies.
2. Go to Effects > EQ5 > Boost the mid-range frequencies around 700 Hz to 1 kHz to emphasize the muted sound.
3. Go to Effects - Choose a Filter and apply a gentle high-pass filter around 100-200 Hz to remove unwanted low-end rumble.
4. Go to Effects > EQ5 > Modulate EQ5 EQ to tame any harsh frequencies that may appear while playing. I like assigning to MW.
Cheers T
🙏 your awesome!
TUBA soon?!?
Yup! Scheduled for July.
@Soundpaintmusic YES. Thank you, fine folks.
Nice but guys we have so many choices in that direction.
Please do more pop oriented products. In your face, jazzy, BIG BAND, fast and PUNCHY
