    Traveling on Christmas Eve, my alternator malfunctioned with just one hour left before the parts store closed. Fortunately, I came across your video, followed the instructions, purchased the alternator, and successfully replaced it the same night. Your helpful video made all the difference, and I couldn't have done it without your guidance. Thank you so much for posting - it was a huge help for me.

      Omg! Exactly. I saw one video that seemed to be great video footage, could see everything perfectly... But I couldn't hear a damn thing over the guy's loud porno music playing!

    My man, I have never done more than replace battery, wipers and flats. After I Watched your video (3x), I removed the alternator in less than 30min. Went to Oreillys and Alternator tested bad , as well as , the battery! Got both and Got er’ done in less than two hours for about half the price that Ford dealers were talking bout! Thanks for the vine!!

    Just changed the alternator in my 2008 F150. Super easy thanks to this video. The hardest part for me was getting the 1/2" breaker bar into the tensioner. Otherwise not too hard of a job.

    Great step by step. Thanks. To loosen the tensioner pulley you need a 1/2 “ ratchet. Not a wrench. Made it so much easier for me. 35 minutes. Done

    Thank you for the tutorial. It really assisted me in replacing the alternator. The air cleaner does not have to come off in order to accomplish this task, but the m😮ain tube does have to come off. The biggest challenge was finding a long enough breaker bar that had a 1/2" drive that would fit into the belt tensioner. Fortunately, I picked up a 1927 Bogs 1/2" drive socket set at a swap meet last year to go with my 1927 Model T. It fit!

    This was a life saver, man. Hardest part was trying to figure out the damned tension pulley. Once you demonstrated that, it was off to the races. Many thanks, Aaron.

    Thanks for your help, Aaron. This vid is just what I needed. Took me a couple hours, but most of that was pulling stuff off to get to the alternator (and putting it all back on again.) Jumped started my pickup, and then it started charging the battery. You saved me some serious coin, my friend.

    When you remove the slack with the Pully.. does the serpentine belt automatically fall out of order, or can you just rest it and slide it back on. Pretty much, do you have to re do the entire serpentine belt once you give it slack?

    • @ninjasancho6711
      @ninjasancho6711 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is old. But , when I removed the belt from alt. Pulley, i kept tension on the belt with my hand as I released the tensioner , then used a Bunge (attached to hood)cord to hang the belt out of the way. Belt stayed lined up

    No need to take the entire thing off. You can remove bracket and bolts from alternator to bracket off as well as the lower alternator housing bolts. Take it to the left while manipulating the upper radiator coolant hose out of the way. I just did our 06 Nav in under an hour.

      Lol that's pretty funny, I've got the opposite problem I'm too tall and top heavy and end up with massive back pain 5 minutes in, the solution is just laying a piece of carpet on the lip of the engine bay and just flopping down on it like a walrus.

    Dude , always start by spraying down the engine with purple shit, waiting 10 mins. Gingerly rinse away all that grime , sometimes repeat process a few times. Wrap up with blasting the engine with a leaf blower to dry it out thoroughly and instantly... then begins working on engine.. it just helps so much in soo many ways ... try it out next time
