I know some players manage to get news before its reported, from what ive seen in my extensive 5-6 years of watching football a lot closer and interviews here and there, most the time they dont know until the news is reported by one of the main reporters like Ian Rapoport or their agent/team calls him to let him know, like it depends on how much communication you have between yourself and the building, same way like at a 9-5 you dont know there is a new hire till you show up, dude can outwork you or replace you, or yall both perform and in real life yall jus split the hours and continue on, in the NFL they gotta pick 1, just 1 and move forward, but yeah, players dont know before unless they are real close with like grunts/assistants in the front office which is a rare case bc youre gonna be closer with players, coaches, maybe some random workers like a security gaurd, janitor, so you really are out the loop
also yeah if daniel jones was healthy, its not like he was gonna do worse than his first game vs dallas, it was growing pains, which isnt tolerated in a 5th year qb ik, but not every QB is the same and he already signed his contract, so he played but only had 1 game wit AT, Waller, Saquon, and hyatt barely had snaps wit jones in, those are our best players, the play calling and o line play all got better the more reps they got in game, you can see, if DJ didnt get hurt we'd have a shot to make the playoffs for sure, that last games vs the divisional rivals were close and i think we beat the eagles so, yeah we had a chance if DJ wasnt hurt
With the rebuilt offensive line and the addition of a WR1 to the offense it remains to be seen if Jones is our guy. He probably is not but this is a make or break year for Jones and the jury is still out. Is Jones our guy this time next year? Probably not.

Jones could have a 20 plus TD 10 or less INT, 3,000 plus yards season, leading the Giants to a an 8-9, possibly 10-7 record. IF.
The management severely underestimated the capabilites of the Oline, and then injuries to those already overestimated players and AT. Jones can carry this team the same way he did before against the majority of NFL defenses. Every team that just drafted a QB, and likely a handful of other teams would've had interest in DJ if he were available, yall need to stop.
