Dancing with the Leaders of the Inland Empire

Dancing with the Leaders of the Inland Empire is a 2023/24 Creative Corps Inland SoCal Arts Project that engages the community with civic leaders as well as addresses social justice through performance. The culminating project included dance workshops in West African, Caribbean and Jazz Dance. This 15 minute documentary is a compilation of the final performances in Victorville and San Bernardino which showcase "Dance Interviews" with Inland Empire civic leaders as a springboard to a dance production based on their traditional and contemporary dance practices.

The project and program is a choreographic collaboration with Makeda Kumasi of WE 3 PRODUCTIONS in San Bernardino, Joy Wilson of Caribbean Joy Dance Company in Riverside, and Monique Williams-Randolph of Unity Dance Studios in Victorville.
