Hello everyone, Ako si Yuta kuramochi.
Thank you so much for the response. Most of all, I am so happy that Filipinos have seen us so much. And thank you for making us feel so welcome. Some of you have commented why did you leave the wonderful Japan and come all the way to the Philippines? As you can see in the video, there are many wonderful places in the Philippines that are not in Japan. But Japan is also a wonderful country, so please come visit us sometime. Finally, I would like to thank Chie for making this wonderful video. And I wish you all safety and health! saramaaat kaayo!!

I am Shon Sato, Japanese living in Philippines, I feel the freedom living here, not everyday feels like I am on cloud 9 but I have enjoyed living here more than my hometown in Japan. I still love Japan more than any other country in the world, even I am here in the Philippines, I still support Japanese products, sports, movies etc. The summer in the Philippines reminds me of staying in a convenience store in Japan at 1PM while enjoying my Mitsuya Cider.

They can put up a Japanese restaurant and if it clicks, they can stay longer. Filipinos love Japanese food, especially if prepared by a Japanese chef/cook himself.

Their story reminds me my family's 4.5 year-long life in Dumaguete. We moved there for almost same reason like them. We had to return to Korea for the pandemic but the wonderful memories will last forever. By the way, Japanese community was growing and I saw many of them move there for English education before the pandemic. I made some good Japanese friends from my son's school then. Wish a good luck to Kuramochi family:)

In Dumaguete, as well as in various places around the world, I've been treated very kindly by Korean people.
Wherever I go, the first friends I make are usually Koreans.
Actually, my husband is Korean too. We met in Dumaguete.
I was thrilled to hear that you interacted with Japanese people in Dumaguete; it makes me happy as if it were my own experience.
Please do come to Dumaguete again sometime!

What a lovely family! I am happy the Philippines is treating you well. Filipino people are very nice and welcoming to foreigners. I honestly think this is one of our biggest "selling points". Isn't it just lovely to be welcomed and made to feel at home? We have such a laid back attitude that must really baffle many foreigners who come from a very hectic and stressful way of life. I can imagine being in the Philippines is such a breathe of fresh air. I am Filipino and have not explored my own country enough! Thank you Yuta and family and Chie for choosing to live here in the Philippines. We Filipinos have this impression of Japan as an advanced, organized, clean, and safe country. But many of us are not aware of the price Japan had to pay to attain this. My Japanese friends told me how stressful and demanding it is to live in Japan (karoshi culture). They would happily trade all of the conveniences just to have a chance to live in the Philippines. Our country might be poor and unpredictable, but we still have a society and way of life that are welcoming, friendly, optimistic, and caring.

This couple can open a restaurant. It will be the best since it's authentic Japanese food and the locals will love it. In the future, the husband can apply in construction firm in Manila but do work remotely. The wife can also open a beauty parlor and hire and train some locals. I'm sure it will be a success.

I agree and disagree at the same time po. I’m living in Japan now. I agree na cheaper ang prices sa Pinas, but I think kung sweldo ang basehan, maraming pilipino ang maliit ang sweldo kaya hindi lahat afford bumili ng masasarap ng pagkain o kumain sa labas. Sa video po ang dami nilang binili like vegetables and meat, masarap yung pagkagawa ng lunch or baon which is hindi afford ng karamihan yan. Matitipid po almost lahat ng Japanese and I believe marami pong ipon ang family na to before tumira sa Pinas. Just my opinion po.

Japan is my homeland, but to be honest, compared to the Philippines, I feel that Japan can be less tolerant towards foreigners.
I feel saddened by the closed-off aspects of Japan, which can sometimes cause difficulties for people with roots in countries other than Japan.

I hope your life in Japan is filled with happiness.

@@dial11Honto ni arigatou gozaimasu for your advice I will keep those in mind. Struggles? I think it’s the lack of interaction with actual japanese people but overall life here is amazing, the transportation, konbini’s, food everything is really convenient. I was just so amazed that in my homeland a japanese family is having a great time and have already adjusted to the environment and culture although I know that there are slight inconveniences but despite of those their facial expressions are so genuine that this video inspired me to really immerse myself together with my wife on our new life here in Ichikawa City. By the way I am from Cebu City which is relatively close to Dumaguete. Please do continue doing these type of content.

The Philippines is my families home, I was born and raised in the US and the more I think back to the Philippines, nostalgia hits me... Your opening shot of your video gave me chills, because that's exactly what I remembered 20 years ago and I remember how it gave me goosebumps the first time something so mythical like this. The Philippines had it's issues but that's everywhere in the world. I can never forget the unconditional love I got there. I hope to one day return and hopefully, when I'm near my end would love to be buried there next to my grandparents.

Was born in Baguio and worked in Metro Manila, and going to Dumaguete was the 1 of the best trips i had in my life. Now my family is here in Japan since 2017. The people , food, infra, govt are nice here and everything is too convenient. Somewhere deep in my heart I want to retire in the Philippines, and live the island life, have my kid grow up with her relatives. The only problem is A LOT OF PROBEMS - healthcare, the PH government, politic, crab mentality , less opportunities, taxes which just get pocketed. A lot of aspects are broken in PH. So far the only problem I have here in JP is lack of family and friends, the language barrier, loneliness sometimes, but that's it, can't think of anything else. I feel like the gov't is somewhat taking care of its people here. People here are honest, respectful, disciplined... But I digress.
Dumaguete, I hope to come back there some day and eat that oh so good sans rival. Bike around the beach, and have casual chats with the tourists and locals.
edit: i learned Yuta is in construction. My dream some day is to have a Japanese inspired house in the Philippines. Maybe Yuta san some day you can help me to construct that house!

As a Filipino hearing foreigners impression like those foreigners who do actually try to see ordinary life in Philippines and its culture, it feels very fascinating because many Filipinos dont really find things here amazing and we always look outside and find other countries so cool and better than ours, so hearing like just a casual conversation about how they are attuning themselves with ordinary life is honestly a nice thing too see and know. I hope the family enjoys their stay here and be happy! Stay safe nd happy y'all and also to the comments section.
