    Ive been away from home 🇵🇭 for over a decade and i thought that living abroad can make life comfortable and happy but I live in a world full of hatred and prejudice. I realised that living simply and humbly in the Phils is what I really want. I took my kids back home for holiday and they were happy and enjoyed every moment. For my kids' wellbeing, teaching them how to live simply help them appreciate small things and be contented. Watching this video makes me wish I had the opportunity they have.

      @mikrobyo1790 lol, you don't know since the end of WW2 Japan became respectable, yes Japan made some mistakes then but, that doesn't mean they won't change, at least they learned something, let's respect the change ,anyway the first
      as we notice the mistakes more than the right ones, we don't appreciate the Right ones anymore,those are the ones you call naive, those who don't know how to learn like you are,.

    This is one of the best perspective I have seen in TH-cam on foreigners living in the Philippines. How their views or principles in life changed because of living in the Philippines like not giving to beggars or taking a break or "pause" from activity or the flow of life-work-play. This family observed how simple the Filipinos live but are always cheerful. These foreigners' observations I have witnessed or experienced but did not notice. Now, I appreciate Philippines and Filipinos way of life more. Thanks Dial Eleven for this interview!

    As a Visayan, and after one year of being a working immigrant in Japan, this video really resonated with me. It's like looking at a parallel universe that's completely in reverse. But coincidentally, working in Japan made me realize the strengths of my Filipino culture.
    The Life-Work-Play connection is really something I missed. In my previous work in PH, I was very productive yet I was fooling around with co-workers and we treated each other like family. In Japan, you can't do those things, your Work-tribe and your Life-tribe are always separate and the former is always the most important one.
    I'm not saying there's a 'good' or 'bad' in any of these situations as I'm aware that Japan's work culture is also the cause of their insane economy and productivity. The infrastructure in Tokyo is insane and only people who are 100% dedicated to their jobs could accomplish that. Still, there's something to be said about the cheerfulness and community that's in the Philippines, because even after my home got decimated by a Supertyphoon, we still managed to be cheerful and I actually got closer to my local community. We really have an uncanny ability to laugh and smile at simple things.
    Anyway my point is, living in another place really gives a lot of lessons!

    • @stuka80
      @stuka80 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The family and community atmosphere in the PH is something you appreciate when you live in another country, especially developed nations like Japan or in my case the US which does not have this community culture, you are strangers even with neighbors that have been living nex to you for decades.

    Thank you for sharing . This is the best experience that parents can give to their young children living overseas & especially in developing countries where life is simple, stress free and much closer to nature (beach , tropical forest & trees; exotic fruits ) and animals ( free range chicken , picking up fresh hatched eggs,etc), learning another language. Proud of you as parents & you are good ones. Beautiful experience as a family . It is lovely for both parents & children. Very rich experience in terms of nice experience to share & your children once they are adults they will always remember this beautiful experience to have lived differently and in another country . They (children ) may give their own future children same foreign living experience once they are adults . Keep this TH-cam channel . Great content . Arigato

    What a remarkable story, and a very interesting concept or idea that can be developed in to something to which other families may also want to try or experience, and do as a family. But I think it's going to be very hard or even impossible to replicate the incredible experience that this Japanese family had.
    I feel like this family's 6 months or so activity and/or trip is going to be one, if not the most memorable that all five members of this family will have in common.

    Having serious relationship with neighbors and friends even if you are a foreigner is the big difference between Japan and the Philippines. In Japan if you are a foreigner even after living for many years, you will not feel you have any serious friends and family unlike in the Philippines, you will feel loved by your neighbors and even the market after a few months.
    The family is very intelligent in their observations, smart people knows how to live life to the fullest.

    Another great video, congrats! The family is wonderful. I learned some new things. The parents are wise like modern day philosophers. The kids are very capable, probably more capable than a lot of adults I know. The family did meaningful things in just six months. I don't think many can do that in so short a time. I wish more Japanese and other like-minded foreigners come here. There's a lot of opportunity to learn and grow on both sides. I've met some Japanese graduate students on some remote coastal town in North Luzon decades ago. They were doing great interacting with the local community. One of them became a fixture in programs and parties. He used to sing a popular Tagalog song from memory. Regarding beggars, I chose to give some money to the old, disabled, and mentally troubled ones. I don't give to young children and able-bodied adults unless they ask for food. Lots of beggars in the main cities chose to beg because it's easier money than working. It's actually against the law to give but part of our culture is helping people who really need it. We just do what we can in that particular situation.

    いつか日本からフィリピンのダバオ市への直行便(全日空A.N.A)が利用できるようになれば、多くの日本人もここに住むようになると思います。いつか私がそうなることを願っています。

    It's good, they have a cacao farm. It's not really a problem at locals if you can't communicate in english or with their dialect. The important, you're welcome by the locals.
