This was a literal Switcheroo, in many ways, LOL! The fact that it's celebrating when the show switched from NBC to CBS, the switching Drew's position from host to contestant, the switching studios, and even the switching current items (which Drew likely has seen so often he has them memorized) to the '72 versions, and of course, the name of the game they did, too! Thats pretty damned impressive, I'd say!
What? They left out the Rice-a-Roni, the San Francisco Treat??? I LIVED for game shows in the 70s. That was my favorite part about having the day off school for snow or whatever - watching the game shows! And Rice-a-Roni, the San Francisco Treat, was on nearly all of them, nearly all the time! The Kal-Kan was a nice touch though, and the console TV from the Spiegel catalog!
@@MaryAnnNytowl Totally. It makes me sad to see Drew stuck there for life. He has SO MUCH TALENT! Some people are born to be great game show hosts - Bob Barker, Monty Hall, Allen Ludden, Burt Convy, Pat Sajak - and Drew is as good as any of them, but Drew can do anything! (Except maybe sing?) I've never liked seeing him there. I hope it's a career that makes him happy. If so, then I'm happy for him :)
Drew Tried...Shows how stressful it can be to be a TPIR Contestant 😊 I grew up watching it hosted by Bob Barker 💗 & have watched w)Drew too...This also shows how special TPIR audience is, bc this audience was no help 🤣 It's fun to have a lil fun 😊
Well I will wager that he didn't miss his opportunity. It's not like it's not taped, anyway! They'll just cut to a commercial when Drew leaves, and start up again when he gets back. Not complicated, LOL!
I found a video on you tube when Amber Lancaster I think was the model at the time actually gave a car away by mistake by revealing the right price of the car when she was pulling cards of an A Frame and the contestant was suppose to guess the cards of all the wrong prices of the car. Because of her little major booboo I think the price is right was forced to give the contestant the car in the end.
Yeah, like derdin8 said, it's spayed, not spade. Spade is either a type of shovel, a suit in a card deck, or a card game. One spays one's female pets. They don't play Spades with them.
Poor Drew being kidnapped by James Corden right away when the contestant came up on stage to play it's game and getting only 1 price right and then doin it over and then all of the prices wrong I felt bad once James stole and stopped Drew from hosting and especially in the middle of it
In today's real world hell the price of almost nothing is right. Obviously if you're paid mega-showbiz salaries the price of anything never really matters much does it ? Paul G
Well, I do agree that James is the best of the late, late show hosts, and maybe even over Steven Colbert, but I wouldn't say the rest are that bad. I catch the clips of them all on here, and enjoy them all.
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (Luke 13:5) Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. (Psalms 51:1-4)
Maybe it was, and we just didn't see that part. 🤔 And, duh. Of course it was _planned,_ as it IS basically an advertisement for the _Price is Right's_ anniversary show, after all.
That's a really ignorant question. Like the other person here said, Drew does thes games day in, day out, and has done for years. He knows ALL the prices - by heart, no doubt. That would have given him a HUGE unfair advantage. This makes it fair, AND it ALSO indicates how long the show has been on CBS, too - two birds, so to speak. That's really, really easy to figure out!

That was wicked. I haven’t watched the Price is Right for about 10 years now. Those theme songs never go out of style. Love it.
That was an absolutely GREAT bit! I love both Drew and James! 15 years? Wow, congratulations Drew!
15 years for Drew, 35 years for Bob. But I remember watching it in the 60's with Bill Cullen. He hosted The Price Is Right from 1956 to 1965. 9 years.
I learned something new from you
Thank you
5:59 audience laughing at the bell as 1 😆🤣
There are levels of adorable, this one just broke the scale 💕
It'd be really funny if he came back to his taping still holding the Stroganoff.

I'm over 25 now, and i still remember the first time i watch the price is right here in the Philippines and its Drew Carey!
Wow fifteen years. Loved the awkward pause in the elevator.
Congrats, Drew!! Been watching this guy for over twenty years now.
So what did Drew win
Drew Carey looks GREAT!! Drew Carey is sooo humble and so happy to be loved and receive a standing ovation in James Corden's studio.
In case anyone was wondering, the one price Drew got right the first time was in fact the stroganoff. 🤣
Drew was so worried about leaving the contestant hehe
Hey, the timing was perfect. He just found out he'd be playing for a brand new car! (Nice one too!) He can wait :-P
I was thinking the same! What a seemingly nice guy Drew is. 💙
@@psa921416 That's what made him such an amazing comedian and comic actor. Everybody LOVED him because he was so damn nice!
James is the best late night host, PERIOD 🤣. His skits are impeccable
Craig was better. James is a terrible interviewer.
WHO'S THAT AT THE DOOR!🐎
😂 love both these two guys 💕 been watching Drew since I was a kid 👍
Has anyone else not seen Drew Carey in ages and found him unrecognizable? 😬🤷♀️
The audience is laughing at the buzzer from the price is right 🤣😆 6:56
James Corden price is right switcheroo awesomeness job game
That was great!
That elevator really does take forever just to go up one flight, that wasn't exaggerated!
the audience just did not know how to help him out no matter how many times james asked them to lol
Yeah they just kept clapping lol. I don't think they watch The Price is Right 😂
What a treasure to have Drew Carey. He was a Sergeant in the Marines. He is a veteran and a tv icon.
AMAZING work
Loved this 🤩
Funny seeing him doing his own show
This was just plain fun! I liked it.
alexis is so beautiful.
now they need to do it where drew hosts the late late show and james is the guest
James Corden is a hero! He rescued that contestant from having to play Stack the Deck!
The old switcharoo
The elevator bit was the best
Drew looks like James' older brother
Drew was close on the dog food and beef stroganoff. :)
He had the stroganoff correct first time, I thought.
I love how in the elevator when everyone is laughing u can also here someone vomitting
I love the price is right 😊

Where are all this weeks shows ?
0:11, Isn't that the same light border used on TPIR'S 1986 specials?
I remember pre drew Carey. Bob... Something.
Barker, contestants still mistakenly call Drew, "Bob" to this day 😆👍🤦♂️
Yeah, look Jonny said, it's Barker, Bob Barker. So... you don't remember much of the pre-Drew days, LOL!
@@JonnyDIY well, ya gotta admit, 99% of them watched Bob's _Price is Right_ whenever they were home sick or when there was a snow day at school!

Pretty good don't know when you sent it Jim just ran across it and gave it to me. Fun
The price of that car was around $20,000
I thought for sure James Gordon would have told that guy don't worry we're gonna give you the car.
It's a C. His name starts with a C, not a G.
What if on TPIR, the prize for this game is for a motorcycle, trip, and also stroganoff for life *$10,000+*
When did Drew Carey turn into Matt Groening?
Um... we age, dearie. It happens to all of us. It will happen to you, too. Trust me.
Is Drew Carey related to Dilbert?

That's so funny how they pretend this is all a surprise even though you can clearly see Drew was already miked up for sound on James' show's feed.
did this air, or was that edited in post to not air?

Not sure which is worse as a prize, toilets or dog food.
Don't think a toilet was ever a prize...

Good thing Corden got Drew away from the show for a bit - before that guy on stage likely loses in Stack the Deck..
Does anyone else feel like this show has too much schtick and too little talk since they came back to studio?
Nope.
This was obviously staged, because the STACK THE DECK game is never shown before the car is revealed.
