Must have played this 100 times today. Can’t get enough! Am so very grateful I discovered it Thank you singers, accompanist and conductor for serving up perfection! Want this piece to soak into my DNA!!!!!❣️
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. So well conducted. Every singer is fully engaged and watches the conductor like a hawk, as they should. The result is clear. Wonderful dynamics and execution. More! More!
Excelente formación coral, voces excelentes y bien trabajadas y un estupendo y magnífico compositor de música para coral, Dan Forrest; del cual escuchamos este precioso canto.
Jason, it does not matter in the least that you are black and not a Mormon. I am not of the Mormon faith. We are all sheep and he is the Great Shepherd, who came to earth in human. form so that we might be as One blessed by his unconditional Love and our love for one another!
Nothing on the composer's website to suggest he's mormon. danforrest.com/what-i-believe/ So if any mormons want to sing it, great, focus on the message and seek for the truth.
The group is the University Singers, The concert hall is the Libby Gardner Concert Hall, School of Music on the University of Utah Campus. All are welcome. There have been great concerts here. Great Hall for singers and the audience. I was actually at this concert. Still makes me cry too.
I can only dream that you will continue recording these beautiful songs, they are so lovely, the very best versions I have ever heard and the choir is so accurate and focused, it is wonderful to see and hear!
my choir is singing this for competition and to be honest this wasn't my favorite song. hearing it all come together and so beautifully done turned it into one of my all time favorites. the tenor part is so amazingly beautiful and the dissonance is amazing. 3:17 made me tear up, not kidding. I'm going to have to go all OCD on the tenors in my choir, because they BETTER make it sound beautufil O.o Anyway, well done to all of you, and kudo's to the director C:
This is totally awesome!!! Is there anyone who has an idea about where to find the music sheets for this choir version? I would love to try it out with my choir!!
My choir teacher sung this to us and I cried... But after that I pictured her singing it as a solo on Christmas and then right at the end my band teacher (they have a secret relationship) would finish her solo and propose :) that is my dream
I'm so impressed with the University of Utah! I kind of wish youtube would prompt you for why you "like" or "dislike" a video. I would be quite interested to see who and why this was disliked.
Funny story(I know this was 9 years ago) but yesterday, my choir director was showing us this song while reading along and at the top of the music said that it was Commissioned for our rival school, which had my director shook because the rival school sucks:p
Awesome accompanying. Her musicality adds to the performance of the choir.
I love this!
And, coincidentally the baby’s gargles in the audience adds so much ambience and weight to the performance. It’s magnificent!
Great choir. Great piece. Great accompanist. The piano part really spoke without covering up the singers.

A true choir can make even the simplest song sound complex. Well done. :)
