Appreciate this guide man! Been stuck in Plat 2 almost at 3 with Luke and had to come back and watch what I'm not utilizing with him. His St. MP I finally started using as a poke properly but that frame trap in he corner is God like. Also that spacing trap is hella useful. So I'm definitely gonna practice this going forward! Thanks!
St. MP can also be a sick spacing trap in neutral (not in corner), or is that what you were talking about? Anyways, if you hit it from nearly max distance, you will be too far away to hit so you can counter with St. HP for huge damage if they mash. If they don't, then you get free pressure.

Whatever is easier for you, DP gives a better knockdown soo it technically is better.
Good vid w frame data, was lookin to optimize some more things. Have the perfect knuckles down 80% in matches now and it’s so satisfying. The corner air knuckles r a lil tricky for me still.

What purpose does Luke’s forward medium punch have in his kit? I always just accidentally hit it, like you said.
Can combo off of it after a drive rush. also good for getting the last hit kill if the opponent is low hp since they have to block it standing.
I'm learning SF and Around 4:30 you said something about flash knuckle keeping the 3 hit string safe was that a fully charged one or a perfect

Good guide. Luke seems fun but I went into training mode and tried learning how to perfect his specials. I can't get it down. Not gonna play a character I can only hit perfects 30% of the time.
Its called practice and experience. The more u try it, your brain will get used to the timing
From personal exp it's just trying over and over and over
His hand flashes when it's the right timing, but it is still not easy to land consistently

Obviously this is parry drive rush after a wall bounce or a launcher. In fact, if you are having trouble with perfect medium knuckle, I suggest using charged light knuckle instead, then doing parry DR into whatever, it leads to nearly the same damage at the cost of one bar or drive meter, but it is way easier if you struggle with the perfect knuckles, or if you know it will kill and have the drive bar it's simply the safer option, even pros miss perfect knuckles.
Luke is the best character in the game that no one plays. I never face luke, but man there is a shit ton of Marisa and Manon

honestly i hate playing luke. Ive been trying to give him a try. But he just feels so bad to me. It feels like all his jabs and pokes are slow as fuuuu. I feel like he always throws out his hurt box before his hit box. I feel like i cant get in close easily and all his buttons get outranged. like man bro i hate him. i haaaaate him so much lmao. its so funny how salty luke has me. But then i fight another luke, and their buttons seem way fu&&ing faster than mine. so luke just hates me. like im so pissed lmao

Bro it’s just you. I felt this way for an entire day of playing him but stuck it out and he is just so good. I play ken but trying the other shotos and of the 3, Luke seems so damn strong.
He is strong af. It doesn’t seem like it at first because he has to play solid to get hits. He requires IMO good fundamentals. He has no weaknesses and a great matchup chart.
The character also makes best use of the games mechanics which is intentional. You want the poster boy to be strong and well rounded and he is.
Feel kinda bad for ryu, he’s good too but luke and Ken are significantly ahead of him.
@howdydoodydoo3631 I've been playing luke from day one and I still think he sucks lol. I don't really understand how everyone is saying Luke is better than ryu. Idk if it's cause I've been playing ryu since I was like 4 years old back in the 90s, but I definitely favor ryu over Luke.
I have Luke in master rank now but I still hate him. My ryu is In diamond rank. But I've had a significantly easier time working my way through the ranks with him. And definitely don't feel frustrated while playing him. Gonna pick up Ken when I get ryu to master. I'm sure Ken will be the easiest time of my life lol

@@EclairTwyeah that's actually extremely accurate lmao. Character is extremely easy, just camp while throwing projectiles, flash kick when they jump. You're now a master guile player.
Be helpful if you actually say or write what your showing in the tutorial. Learn nothing from this unless you already understand the character
