Even if he didn't have a firing rocket, Fett was one of my favorite figures as a kid in the 80's.
A tip : watch movies on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching lots of of movies during the lockdown.

You know what I got for a replacement for it? I got The power Droid and my Brother he got walrus man I still remember him calling me in 2010 saying there sending Rocket firing Boba fetts Such good memories with Kenner
This was a bit different from the normal videos. I really enjoyed that. I didn't know about the parade appearance so that was really cool to see. I would like to see you do more like this from time to time but with narration maybe? Great video Junkman.

Very nice video, especially the parade. I remember getting my Boba Fett in the mail in 1979. My brother was disappointed when he read the note about the non firing missile. I didn't care, since I just loved the action figure. I still have it.

If I had sent the figure back, and with hindsight, I would have got a vinyl caped Jawa and kept it in the package. I had one but really wanted the cloth cape one as it looked better.
P.S. I could watch those 2 looking at each other for hours and it wouldn't become less funny.
I've told a few people what I call my "Jawa story", and it's similar to your experience. In 1978 I was in a Lionel Playworld store with my family, and I had two Jawas in my hands- one with the cloth cape, and one with the vinyl cape. Guess which one I put back on the shelf!
17 years later, I was looking through a toy collecting magazine and learned how valuable the vinyl cape Jawa had become. If only we had known. I still think the cloth cape Jawa looks better. I have three of them.
@@seventiesfan717 I have now bought an after market vinyl cape and have him on display instead of the better looking cloth cape. How fickle us humans are.

Did he come with both a black blaster and blue blaster over the years? Was it random if he came with a black or blue blaster?

Love the info and images. Especially that original Star Wars card back logo with the "worm" W. I don't know why, but that gets me whenever I see it. I remember actually being able to peel that sticker off the back of an Obi-Won card back and seeing thd rocket firing photo. This didn't happen until after 1980 when we'd already had a released Boba Fett. Therefore, I never forgot seeing the differences in the shape of his helmet, the colours, the rocket shape, and the finger pushing the button. I see at least two new cosplay ideas for the Mercs! Kit-bash Fett and rocket firing photo Fett.
I know you deleted your reply, but the worm W is where the top left of the W curls to the left as part of the double stripes that also connect with the S, R, and final S in the worm style Star Wars logo. NASA also has a worm style logo that's a bit different as the letters do not connect.
Best Star Wars figure ever, even without the firing rocket.
Plot twist: if they released the rocket firing boba fett the one with the sonic welded one will be the new prototype

Did the Kenner Boba Fett come with different colored blasters? I always thought he only came with the blue/black but I’ve seen people selling or displaying him with the blue also

Cool video. By the title I was hoping to see a mention about the large size Boba Fett. I still have my large Kenner Boba Fett from the late ‘70’s, but it’s 12” and I’m having a hell of a time getting info about it. Cool video nonetheless…

Not really a lost film its all over youtube and place. And Parade was Sept 1978, the Special was in Nov 1978. Both covered in the video here.

Personally, as a character in the movies, I think Fett is completely overrated. He is hyped up to be "the most feared killer of them all," but we never see him take any action to confirm this.
The action figure, on the other hand, is legendary!

No. They hit stores mid year.

6:24-It was shipped,to my friend chris. I was upset,as we both received our fetts on the same day-I got the basic figure,and he got the J-Slot! Yes he did,because I remember breaking the fragile J-slot firing mechanism,as it was very small & fragile...I lost a friend over it. I also received an extra figure,and a message saying this is for the mis-leading production of the rocket firing figure,that you did not receive. I believe I received a free c-3po or darth vader,as a bonus in another box a couple of days later.
The crazy thing was,when I sent away for my fett,my father actually threw it away,as it didn't state jr vs sr. I was a little kid,and didn't know what the hell I was doing.
The good was,I asked if he checked the mail,and said something was in a tiny little box address to him,but he didn't recognize the shipper's address...He said,its right there at the top of the garbage... He stated,I needed to learn to put JR. at the end of my name,and then I was sent to my room,for a stupid mistake...Hell I was cool with that-I got my Boba Fett!
The rocket should have been able to come out, even if it didn't fire.
Oh, right. They discontinued it because it was a "choking hazard". But so was the gun. You don't give toys like this to babies who will try to swallow it.

I "Felt" something was a little off with this video...
Junk man or anyone else reading. This . I went to a toy and comic store in my town ask to see the boba fetts in the glass case , all of them where in the plastic container holders .four to be exact all priced at 150 except for one that was for 100 , so I’m looking at all of them some complete with gun some not , and the one that was marked 100 bucks had the small firing rocket by his feet . I turn it over and there is the J hook design , can clearly see the spring inside with the red plastic base to hold the rocket in . Also I need to buy his gun , what color was it ? Black , blue or black/ blue gun .? Anyone think that this is real thank you. Ps I can send pics if you want. Dank it sorry , and it doesn’t have a country of origin stamped on it

This video is due for an update. There's a lot of information about this project; interviews with the Kenner staff and such. The image used for the card was taken at a Kenner Party. Anyway, terrible video Junkman, go back to the drawing board. Make it proper.
