Enterprise environments generally are not comfortable with Chocolatey, just given the open source nature. Might be worth looking at a third-party patching tool like Patch-MyPC, Robopack, or a full Intune companion like zerotouch.ai
Hi Steve, Great Video, I would love to know if its possible when first deploying a brand new machine from the supplier direct to the end user, and using Autopilot, that you are able to wipe the machine before you then install only the applications that the company want you to install on it. A bit like having a blank custom image then deploying via MDT.
We use OSDCloud to do that. Wipe, install vanilla base image, then autopilot. branding script can remove inbox apps we don’t want, set defaults, apply updates…
Great stuff, but the start2.bin, how do you generate it? We get it from a W11 dummy station where we modified the start menu ? Thanks for all your intune stuff
Hi Steve, Unfortunately , This doesn't work for me. Must be I am doing something wrong. I can see the LayoutModificate.xml is copied to the right spot. All I want is to pin the Office apps. Is there a way to troubleshoot or manually apply the xml to check if something wrong with the xml. Thank you. .:)
Double check here: learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/configuration/taskbar/pinned-apps?tabs=intune&pivots=windows-11 Unfortunately, you can't use the "Import-Taskbar" PowerShell module, so it's either Intune or a provisioning package.
I know you have mixed feelings about this, but the defaults from MS are not good enough. Setting sane defaults is a great thing to do, and as you say users can change it as they wish later. I would not be locking it down with policy, but the Branding method is awesome.
I love your sense of humor mate! Don't change anything, your videos are really great! 😉
I really appreciate that 😊
Oh another great video. Applying but not enforcing. Love it.
It is enforced. User pins will not stay after a log off/restart. And the default layout will come back.
Can’t join member group from my phone. Seriously TH-cam?
Thank you!
I disable the Microsoft store in windows 11. But now i need to enable the microsoft store. Please provide any powershell script
good video , do you recommend chocolatey for enterprise environments?

Yes it's generated from a reference machine. I'll do a follow up shortly

I absolutely agree. If we can't move on from the mindset of changing it to begin with, at least let us set it as a preference
Can i push this profile to all windows 11 devices ?
Yes
