I used to live in Gordons Bay and I must say taking the R44 through Gordons Bay to Hermanus the views are spectacular. Must be seen to get the real appreciation.

Very beautiful route indeed, although not the most scenic in the world or even SA. In fact, it's only the 3rd most scenic drive in the Western Cape, after 1. Chapman's Peak Drive and 2. The Garden Route. Nevertheless, it's a spectacular route, of which you've shared some wonderful images!
As far as you are concerned as far as I am concerned and international rating its the most scenic. It is a subjective thing but theres many reasons It is rated better than the ones you mention and I mention it. It travels through the worlds most diverse floral kingdom. So how on earth can any other route beat it.
Bru, im a saffa, ive travelled 114 countries and seriously, the whole garden route to saldahna is over rated. You obviously havnt been anywhere else. Capetown is is nice because of table mtn. Ive always he eard sa is a world in one country. 😂😂 Get a life. Moenie kak praat nie.
