Back when I was 42 and had been running for 20 years, and didn't care about distance only how much time I had to run, 2 -3 - 4 hours, I enjoyed it!, About then, I left running because of an injury and left running for cigars, and eating. About 1 1/2 years ago, after a life changing event, I decided to come back to my first love, I stopped smoking, lost 30 lbs. and never looked back, and now, Anton's my inspiration. Thank you and have a long and happy life...
My first mountain ultra will be Ouray next month and watching these videos has not only made me all the more excited about it but have helped guide my training. Thank you, Tony snd all those who help make this possible.
People like Anton really inspire me. I'm not an ultramarathoner, or even a marathoner for that matter, but just after watching this video I ran 8 miles. He does more than that before actually running..haha! But, he's said it before, there is something beautiful, primal, and free about running. Your mind is set free. In this day and age, I think we all need that.
Idk when I first saw this video but TH-cam recently recommended it to me again and its such a trip watching it again. I wanna be like Tony when I grow up
This is always the issue nobody talks about - do what you love all day...who is supporting you? Even living simple costs money. I would be interested to know the details on that, with everyone who is living 'the dream' that I consider a dream. Until then, like you, save & plan it is.
This was my first thought too. I love my work, but if automation kicks in and we get a universal basic income I'd love to run like this a few days a week.
@@kellymrottenbucher7777 hello Kelly and everyone who put it on that terms. Once I use to run up and down the trails, I loved mountaineering and climbing, big walls at the highest level in my country, a tiny one. Effortless. Full of joy. One biscuit, bite of chocolate, cannot describe the feeling ending a big wall in a calm sunset... Is not about of being young and free, is another life. Same me, another setting. What means free? Doing that, I felt genuine freedom, that freedom lived, not explained in some stupid scientific terms. At that time I managed to find the money for that, not a penny more. Thinking through an elder age, I dare to say that I was blessed to live a perfectly ballanced moment of life. Some weeks ago I met a friend, 15 years younger, living his life as profesional mountain guide, in Chamonix, French Alps. I look at him as being me, same me still climbing hard. He was the perfect mirror that helped to see who I am now, and the thoughest thought that I still have the same joy in my life. My wife said he is addicted, I replied to her no, adiction is vicious. Therefore they are two different lives. Cannot pay for one and live the other. Sorry for this long story, I am not s-o good în English, btw I am Romanian and I love Carpathians. Use to run 2 or 3 ultra 100k or more per year. My wife use to say there are elite category and those to pay. I am a mediocre payer.
In addition to the MO10s he is also definitely wearing the MT 110 for much of the mountain running portion. It's not a winter shoe but it has a more robust upper, New Balance describes it as being similar to a soccer cleat. It also has more aggressive tread and a rock plate. Still on the minimus last though.
wow I just loved watching this film....so inspiring...such freedom....I was trying to picture myself running those trails....ahhh so breathtaking, what an amazing release from the world you must get....as a woman I would never contemplate this alone...but with a partner how amazing this would be!!
You don't know how terribly cold are winters in Russia... I need inspiration to go out every morning for my run, cos it's constantly about - 11 C degrees every damn day! I found my motivation now. Wish me luck.
@SuperKrazyKyle It's "Scotland" by The Lumineers. If you guys liked this, there's a cool movie called "Indulgence: 1000 Miles Under The Colorado Sky" that follows Anton Krupicka around as he runs and trains.
Very inspiring individual. Keep up the great work, Anton! You are an inspiration to many and hopefully when I graduate from college I can move up to Boulder, Colorado to meet you, Fernando Cabada and Sage Canaday. Greetings from New Mexico.
Green mountain everyday. I was visiting out there and ran green mountain. It was tuff. Very tuff. My family and I were coming down green mountain and a guy passed us. It was very cold and this guy was wearing long tights and no shirt. It sure look liked Tony. I didn't ask him. He was so involved with his running. The guy was like a machine.
as a baseball player, i rarely ran but when my running friend showed me this four months ago, i started to run probably the best part of my morning every morning
It's gnarly cold in Omaha this weekend; this makes me feel so pumped to quit making excuses about how mother nature dealt so few fall runs and just go!.
@TheGreatAristo snow is slippery, so your foot slides over rocks easily, you never roll the ankle enough in snow to injure it. Also the snow packs the gaps between rocks, so the trails are smoothed out. It is damn good ankle training though, come spring I always get braver on rocks between the
i am training for my first 5 km running race. quit smoking 10 months ago and walking, running and boxing was the reason that i made it.... 19 years of smoking but with running i think that never smoked before. greetings from greece
Just go out and run, I used to keep holding myself back from running outside in the Winter with excuses like "it's to fucking cold outside" and "I'll start running once it's warm" but one day I just said fuck it and gave it a try, now winter running especially in ravines ( I live in a city) is something I enjoy almost as much as summer running.
@faulkner24 Breaks are OK too. If you love running, you will be fine. Tell your parents that if they won't let you run in the snow, you will start doing stuff ordinary high school kids do. That will scare them into letting you run. They should know that it is actually safer to run in the snow in terms of potential falling on one's face. More cushion. Just get good gripping shoes or a pair of these detachable spikes (whatever they're called).
I would break both my ankles running in the Appalachians here in Maine during the winter time. Skate skiing for this guy. Great video for running motivation though
Winters in the Front Range and Utah are why I have always wanted to move there. Great Lakes winters are just "The Suck". Can't ride one's bike, and running in 18" to 30" snows from Christmas to Easter is for sasquatches. I mean, yeah Nordic skiis, but that ain't running nor cycling.
Great job on the documentary. Can you tell me what camera(s) (GoPro?) you used and any other equipment, ie maybe a little steady cam? If not then great job on the moving shots.
I want to run in the snow but my parents wont let me. Im young, a freshman in highschool, but ive been told im a really good runner for my age. My 5k time is 18:23 and my best mile is a 5:15 (i ran that last year in 8th grade). i need to run everyday to get ready for track but we are having a pretty bad winter :( i love running so much!
Anyone tell me what black top he's wearing, i'm trying to build my winter gear for the season, may as well copy this dude, he's got a beard that's all i need to know

ive watched this like 50 times now.
me too 😆 my winter running inspiration for the past 6 or so years
Same. Used to watch this a lot 11-12 years ago maybe. Now I'm trying to get back into running and I'm watching this again

I ran 22km yesterday in Québec, it's cold and a lots of snow but very nice!
Very much inspired by this man... He is now the reason for my training for long distance runs.. and quitting smoking... God bless Anton!
@later6 The song at 3:50 is by Paper Bird and the song is Lost Boys. I was lucky enough to see them play in town after moving to Boulder.

Let's all quit our jobs and become ultra runners. A dream.

I’m running ultras and I work in bicycle food delivery to pay the bills. So bicycle ultras for work and running ultras on the weekends

Cool video guys! Nice scenery and really cool tunes. Rock on Krupicka!
Covered something like 500 miles this winter on the trails. It's a great experience.

The black top is probably NB Performance Fleece Pullover or the NB Emissive. Both around $ 50

Nice vid! everything worked so nicely - the subject, music, camera, editing - Lovely. And wow it looks beautiful there.
excellent quality ; really captures the pure runner;great job, thank you
they are! green mountain at night is amazing.
You can see that Anton simply loves being "in the run". Nice Video.
Got that Paper Bird song on my iPod too!
Tony is such an inspirational runner. I have total appreciation for his attitude about running.
Its our first snowfall today, thinking of taking the brooks out for a run
It's a shame for the very low resolution, the video is great!
I think that the bad quality adds something emotional to videos. Almost like it's watching something real. Shah I dunno just a vibe I get

Actually they're they're the prototypes for the mt110, the new version of the mt101

What is Green Mountain Trail round trip? Looks pretty, not unlike here in Prescott, AZ
1:16 what is he doing with his foot there? Putting on an invisible sock or some kind of a rubber band, this must be some pro runner secret trick
what was the third song that was played? later in the vid? the lyrics are something like "i will not go there, something something control"

We are looking to use some of your footage in a news segment, may we use? Thank you,

do you know what type of tights he is wearing?

wat is that song at the begging

I hate running in winter because my throat gets dry very fast and my lungs hurt like hell. Love how he consequently runs every day of the year though.
what song is playing at 7:45 ?
I wonder if he has ever seen anything paranormal being in the woods and mountains for the amount of time he has.
