- This model train video features seven G scale model trains running on a layout through my house, with a focus on Thomas The Tank Engine. This video is geared towards children. You can safely allow your kids to watch this video. Totally kid friendly!
On this particular day at my house, Thomas was hoping to be the first train called by the dispatcher with clearance for a run on the layout. But one by one, each of the other trains got their orders from the train dispatcher, and Thomas seriously had to wonder if he would get to run on the layout today at all.
Had the dispatcher forgotten him? If he blew his whistle, would it get the dispatcher's attention? If he blew off a little steam, would he feel better? And if none of that worked, perhaps he should just throw a good hissy fit!
Thomas & Friends is incredibly popular with children, so this video was made with kids in mind. But with so many great G-scale model trains in the video, it should also appeal to train-loving adults, too.
The scale model of Thomas is available from Bachmann Trains. Also featured in the video are trains by LGB, MTH, and Piko. There are steam trains and diesel locomotives, and a very special (and BRIEF) appearance by my Cocker Spaniel at the 9:08 mark.
Oh, by the way, the engine sound effect at the 8:39 mark is my idea of a little joke. To those that know trains, this is obviously the completely wrong sound effect... which is why I thought it was funny... and also why I kind of buried it towards the end of the video. Enjoy!
The 3-8 year old crowd really seems to be wild for Thomas The Tank Engine, so I bet if you have a toddler, preschooler, or elementary school aged kid... they will love this video.
