Hallo Stefan!! What is the instrument below the airspeed indicator and what is it displaying? It looks like an AIR Avionics display showing vario data.
Stefan, ich danke dir für die Veröffentlichung von Meisterkursen über das Pilotenleben bei schlechtem Wetter. Diesmal gibt es keine einzige bewölkte Straße.
Dear Stefan; thanks for your incredible videos; I’m a PPL pilot and I was interested to take a glider course one day; if possible, could you send me the contact details of some recommended schools? Best regards
Big fan from Worcester CGC, but I have to tell you that your Audio Vario is the most irritating set of tones I have ever heard. Maybe climbing in the rotor made an odd tune but I think it might sound better if it was tuned to a major pentatonic scale 😀sounds like it was tuned by an android🙄
Dude, I never seen a creator in more need of a 360°camera. I know it would be tricky to use, especially it's placement (since it would inevitably affect your's plane aerodynamical performance). But flying is an experience that needs to be shown in that way
Typical FES gliders, given the low nose position, have small propellers and hence are not as efficient and powerful as retractable ones behind the cockpit. There are some exceptions: Elfin by RX Aero (if it ever sees the light of day) and a small company is retrofitting FES to older Antares gliders, as its nose if higher from ground as typical gliders.
@@gliderpilot67 "Silent 2" also, because it was certified under a different set of regulations, to my knowledge. FES gliders uses a relatively safe voltage of 110 volts as opposed to RES dangerous 300-400 volts, especially if you need to use the motor in the rain.
Okay... is the continuous audio indicator necessary? You are up really high, you aren't going to hit the ground if you drop a few accidental meters. I would have to mute that noise and just listen to the wind. You already got rid of the worst noise; the engine and propeller, but you replaced it with an incessant "boodoodoodooodooooooooodooooooooooodbooboobooboobooboodoooooooodoooooooooooooooooo" can you not have a VSI (vertical speed indicator) like many fixed wing aircraft have? I'd rather glance at that than hear boodoopboodoopbodoooooooooo all day :) Just teasing mostly though omg it would get on my nerves eventually. Great flying and thank you for the video! EDIT: You have an altimeter right there, literally right there. It tells you all you need without that machine singing. :)
You're not looking for trends sustained over 30 seconds or so that could be monitored by glancing at a VSI, you need to listen for second to second measurements in order to stay properly centred in thermals.
In the vario settings there are many different audio choices and a pilot can choose his favorite. Did you notice the area traffic? Using the audio vario the pilot keeps his eyes outside. BTW I use the audio choice that sounds like a fishing reel. When striking lift it sounds the same as hooking the big one!
Stefan creates beautiful videos that I am glad to have the opportunity to see. You do him a great disservice with your ugly off topic and irrelevant side comment.

Well done Stefan. 👍
You are learning fast, how to explore the new possibilities you now have with an engine on board.
The Audio Vario sounds like when my daughter leaves the keyboard on in her room and make the cat chase a laser across it
Always fascinating, the new things you can learn by exploring unconventional conditions! Thanks for a fun video!

Hätte nicht gedacht, dass bei solchen Wolken was geht.
Kurzweilig geschnitten, danke fürs teilen!
Awesome looking panel you have there Stefan!. A bit more room for activities than the LS3 panel
not a fan of everything being a screen, esp the vario needle. that radio-transponder from air avionics looks amazing tho.
That flight is calming! *I wish I can have that one.*

Nice landing as usuale!!😊
Seeing these clouds, i thought better stay at home before we are getting wet. You did find the one only rotor wind for 50km around.👍🏻😊🇫🇷
It looks very nice.😊😊
Why did you make the super fast approach? Was it to get the rain off the wings?
Very cool!
Thank you! 🙏🏼

a very... veeery sad android. with depression. 😅
Would like to have two hepatic transducers on each arm connected to sensors on each wing. It would be like gaining another sense.
Was this a dangerous meet with the Small plane just passing under you ? I didn't hear the alarm FLARM
Wow, does the propeller make it less aerodynamic in flight? If so, how much?
The prop and motor retracts into the fuselage after shutdown ;)

Stefan, why you did not pick fes? I am trying to figure out which will be better. Had to be some reasoning behind your decision.
To my knowledge you cannot take off with FES (except with the miniLAK).

OK, to us glider pilots, the _boodoo boodoo_ is music. I set the volume to be so low that I can just hear it above the airstream noise.
The altimeter does not tell you the verticle movement of the air around you

That's not Soaring... it is anything else but not Soaring at all, with that motor standing by. I'd call this FAKE SOARING.
When I see a bird flap his wings is he also fake soaring?
Did anyone stop to think that if today were 1940, this guy would be flying for the Luftwaffe?

Underwhelming video. Sorry Sephan. Thumbs down, as a subscriber.
OK, that is unnecessary... I do agree it is not the most spectacular video - yet quite interesting
