To point out: The Garlic did cost 1 gold, you froze it when it costed 3 gold, the next turn the squirrel reduced the price. You left it frozen, so the squirrel reduced the price again to 1 gold. You can refrigerate food until the squirrel makes it free even if you don't have a higher level squirrel.

RCE 13:31 you can actually give pets, with food atached to them, other food like cupcakes and apples. it doesnt affect the binded food

Quick tip: consider the opportunity cost of freezing. You had a squirrel badger and seal frozen for several rounds even though you were unlikely to get all 3 to tier 3.
This meant you had less chance of rolling a cat or anything else that would have helped your team.
This is the most addictive yet the most frustrating game and I haven't even won once yet.

Just do an early level 3 tier 1 card let's say mosquito or fish depending on your luck and then get a bison, ez win, or if you get lucky and get an early tier 6 dragon use him and boom
The key is maximize your currency
So don't roll 3 times in a row please
Use the highest tier as much as possible
And get lucky
If you don't gain levels you have no chance
In later game you
Must
Have stuff that give you continuous growth

There's no 1 meta defining mandatory way of winning
Except I think only the fact that you need supporters that makes you continuously grow

Generally the mushroom works better than honey with a badger, as it keeps the badger’s effect of damage upon faint.
Seeing him prefer a tier 1 honey more than those tier 6 mushroom really made me uncomfortable

Badger damage on faint is based on attack damage, so a 1/1 badger after mushroom is most of the time not worth the 3 gold. That late into the game i'd rather put the mushroom on something else that needs it or just roll 3 times
"We could use the cupcake but then we lose the garlic armour" No... Thats not how that works. Cupcake wudve given your seal temp 6/6, plus two health from bunny, and permabuffed two more pets by 2/2 cuz of bunny.
When you freeze 3 animals but reroll, aren't you reducing your chances of getting a refresh of an animal you want?

Almost similar, thought I'd check if you can get it on your phone and play a few games. About 3 hours later I was still playing when I should have been asleep at that point.
Don't put the bee behind the horses. You lose out on the buff
Yeah so annoying the see the horse going first before the bee. Not sure he understands how the horse works at this point 😂

I really want to eventually have a game where I just spam hedgehogs so as soon as one faints, it knocks out the other four to instantly kill everyone on the board, then spawn a bee after they're dead.
It's a lot of fun to do that but doesn't get very far unfortunately. Two level two hedgehogs plus a garlic armor pufferfish can get you to the end though and if you pair it with a whale most games will end before anything can attack.
I hate you for introducing me to this game lol. Been playing prettty much non stop for 3 days now and just last night finally got my first 10 trophy win. But it was so unsatisfying because my team seemed terrible and I just got lucky with matchups. So now I have to keep playing to do it satisfyingly!
Its fun to see you winning in this game. I found it before it became so popular and Im happy to see all these youtubers and streamers play it.
You should put the mushroom on the badger. It's like having honey but you will still get the addition damage after both deaths
This cutesy game requires way strategy that I would have ever guessed.
Little tip, Matt. Using the cupcake does not get rid of your garlic/melon or any other active effect. It's just a passive bonus for the next round. I've been able to stack 2 cupcakes on top of a boar with steak on it.

You mentioned ox not being good late game, but I believe most folks, including myself, find it to be one of the best animals to get early and keep through to the end game.

The cupcake doesn't get rid of the garlic or anything like it. It adds 3/3 for 1 turn.
Honestly the mushroom should just bring you back with halved stats, so it isn't overpowered but isn't the same as the bee

You had so many 1 cost 1-ups which you could use on the badger which means that instead of dropping a level 1 1/1 bee it would drop a level 2 1/1 badger which is just adds an extra 2 damage when it dies. I think this is an overlooked part of the game where people don’t realize that 1-up is just a better honey.
its possible to create a build that’s ‘worse than nothing’ with a rat in the front, a badger behind, another badger behind, *another* badger behind, and a whale behind. Full credits to Keenoe for creating it.

if you freeze a food for two rounds, the (level one) chipmunk will discount it one gold per round. so a normal 3 gold food will be 1 gold! (one more round would be free i believe). Also, after one round + Chipmunk, a pill will also be free. hope this helps!
also you can totally use a cupcake on a garlic'd pet, it won't override it :)

@@Drakonus_ as far as I can tell, the second animal pack just gives you a whole different set of pets, and you only get matched with players using the same pack. It doesn't make it easier to win. At least that's what I get on the Android and browser versions.

Giving the badger a mushroom instead of honey is even better, adding first the damage of a level 1 badger and on top of that some extra damage if the badger faint, so if there is something like a weak penguin or monkey at the end of a team, a bee would be easily killed off, while a badger could result in a draw or even a win.

Squirrel is actually still incredibly powerful even with only affectin start of round food (and is rly strong in a team where you want to faint stuff as it gives you free pills at lvl 1).
One gold less for each food means you can buy the first two foods that show up and still have 6 gold to buy any pets rolled (or look for more). Two gold less is even better and almost guarantees you can get four food a turn easily. Three gold less means you can get five food a turn.
However, you have to just buy any food whatsoever prty much; just for the on food purchased effects. Buying cupcakes may seem useless bcuz temp buff... But with your team that cupcake wud still give 2/2 to two pets, and two health to the seal. Which is only two less permanent atk boost than feeding the seal an apple with your build. Oh, and it gives it 6/6 for a single turn which is quite high.
A good play is adding the hedgehog at the end with honey. similar to honey badger as the honey secures the win, but the hedgehog attacks any remaining pets when it's died. So here's how the hedgehog could secure the win: when there's a one-on-one battle at the end, but the enemy has something better and kills the hedgehog, the hedgehog will then attack after its been killed, killing the enemy, than summoning a bee to secure the win.
Unlike the badger, it attacks every enemy, so it could be useful early game.

Congratulations! Hopefully one day I can get my 10 wins. As it is right now, I'm more working on getting tier 3 on more animals. Also, I try and keep my team names stream-friendly if I ever show up as an enemy for you.
This build is fun when it comes up:
random trash / no food || Level 2-3 Dragon / any food || Scorpion / mushroom || Scorpion / mushroom || Scorpion / mushroom ||
Just roll in the shop for any tier 1 animals you can get, buy them and sell them straightaway (the otter, beaver and pig are especially good for this purpose), and then try to get something that's halfway good at level 1 in the last slot each round (eg skunk, deer, swan, monkey, turtle, another scorpion, etc. just anything you can find that will do something)
What you end up with is four buff ass animals, three of which are scorpions (without peanut) that will each summon a 1/1 scorpion (with peanut) when they faint.
Try it and see how you get on.

i downloaded this game the other day on my phone, and have been adictied to it since
So, at 4:00 You freeze then roll. Its not a good habit. The sleeping pill I can kind of understand, but the hedgehog freeze is bad, either just buy it and accept the loss of 2 coins (since it refunds 1) or just roll over it. By freezing it first, you're just reducing the chance of seeing something better.
That’s exactly how my addiction to this game works. Once I win one I’m good but never satisfied until I do lol
Quick tip. Try to make triplets (level up a pet) on odd numbered turns.
Long explanation: if you level up a pet, you get a pet on the shop that is one tier higher than the current round tier. So if you level up on turn 3, you can get a tier 3 pet on the shop. If you can level up on turn 4, its better to freeze and wait, so you level up on turn 5 and get a tier 4 pet on the shop, which is massive that early on.

Mushroom on last spot badger is actually a significant increase compared to honey on them. That mushroom means you get a 1/1 badger that, in your case, deals 2 dmg when it dies. This can be the dmg needed for a tie and also it still trades with any bee users as its still a 1/1.
Probs were that shines the most is if youre using a rat tho as the dirty rat you spawn will be killed by your honey badgers death splash dmg after it trades with a bee.
I tend to always go for a food build find those actually best. Though instead of seal I tend to go for dodo + pufferfish. This build allows an extra squirrel though (which I often ignore/throw away in favour of a penguin).

A swan is in most cases a better squirrel. If you're not using BOTH of the discounted foods, a swan is simply better. Lower tier and the gold can be used on pets as well.
as far as i remember the cat also doubles the effects of the turkey.
Squirrel makes the first two items in the shop -1,-2,-3 gold based on level of squirrel 1,2,3 respectively. If you freeze something then next turn it will be discounted again. You can get free items if you hold them multiple days but it's usually not worth it

well my very first win was based on rabbit and cat, and that somehow created a team with two 50 HP and one 49 HP pet (with only one of them 50/50 though)
though if you could get a cat while tier 5, since the can food is also doubled, that could be a very sick build with many options (like once i tried a 50/4X scorpion)
and with some tries with the cats, i feel like though LV3 cats gives *4 for food, the LV2 (*3) is already enough, and you can just freeze the cat or chocolate in shop before you are really going into LV2, or the resource gap could likely to cause you one win

Every time I try a food build, there's always a team filled with either A) scorpions, or B ) an immortal hippo that should have died from any of my 4 other 40/50s, but never does for some reason.

and also, there is always that scorpion user in the end game, so putting the strongest pet to the front is kinda risky I think

you should put the melon ontop of your strongest pets, since it'll negate a scorpion and also you'll probably attack at least twice with that much damage which is better than twice with a weaker animal

Why doesn't anyone mushroom the badger? Instead of creating a 1-1 bee you'll create a lvl 1 badger that again attacks if it faints.

if the squirrel's ability didnt only activate at the start of a turn, it would be OP at level 3, because you could get up to 20 peices of food in a single turn
