    OMG. I grew up in this area some many moons ago. I visit this area generally twice a year except of course 2020 due to Covid. People born many years after cannot believe what we had growing up. No roads, no electricity, no water, and now many shops! Kenya is growing. Oyugis too is not left behind. Would be nice if they could build industrial units so the stuff such as sofas can move, and also for people to not walk on this lovely road. The side walks can be improved by the locals just giving up two hours once very month! Very impressive indeed.

    I am watching from 🇺🇸 and I amazed of how Oyugis has changed for the last 20 years. Geographically Oyugis has always had potential of growth given that it connects Kendu bay, Kisii and Kisumu. That was a wonderful job you did of advertising Oyugis and we appreciate your efforts of letting us see Oyugis from wherever we are. Do more towns so that we can compare and contrast the rate of growth of these places which were considered markets in the 70s and 80s.

      Hmmm, it's ok, but America is not easy. I think as Black Americans, we have become used to living in a fast paced world. I was interested in moving to Kenya, but the immigration laws are very strict. It's a little shocking that Africa, doesn't really allow Black Americans or the black diaspora into Africa, but Europeans, Arabs and Indians get to roam Africa, like they OWN it.

    Is oyugis most developed than HBay town

    • @Jarunda
      @Jarunda  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really, Homa Bay town is the capital of Homa Bay County. Oyugis can't be more developed than Homa Bay town.
      However, business is booming in Oyugis.

    Jarunda next time you are here, find us for facts. was a nice tour though japeng misled you in one or twos, Like the ultra New market isn't Akubas thing, but also the fruits of the handshake and two, A thousand street is not thug bound, it's simply one street with a thousand issues, a thousand problem, thousands of people, and a thousand things. We call it the Activists street. I was born here, lived here, interestingly "ajo mbuta lived here" and Oyugis shaped us. Karibu dala Jaluth!!!

    Nice video Jarunda but can you please make it clear and not say that the Oyugis market has been constructed by the failed government of Awiti aka Akuba. This is a World Bank/Africa Development Bank programme, who are also the ones responsible for the grading of the Migori to Ahero road. AWITI IS THE GREATEST FAILED GOVERNOR IN KENYA. Bure Kabisa, a waste of 10 years. Ignorant and useless kabisa.

    • @Jarunda
      @Jarunda  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really?

  • @silvanskodingo5221
    @silvanskodingo5221 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The dualling is okay but there are no service lanes on the sides thus most activities are on the road. The road in Oyugis should have been similar to what you see in Katito, Gambogi , Majengo, Mbale and Chavakali in Western. It's difficult to get parking in Oyugis as all bodabodas, tuktuks and vehicles park on the main highway will traders also taking up the entire space in front of the shops. This makes it difficult for people going back home to promote the local businesses since you'll not find parking around the supermarkets. The town is also full of youthful idlers doing nothing or waiting to be hired for various missions including criminal activities. Kenha should have pulled down the fronts of buildings too close to the road and created a service lane where vehicles can park as they load or offload. This would create a clean pedestrian and also free up the main highway to avoid several encumbrances and increase traffic flow.
