    Thanks for this. I just added an a7IV to my arsenal! My FX3 and FX6 have Tilta cages, but I was debating on trying the original SmallRig cage for this...but then I saw this slightly more expensive Rhinoceros, and you showed me everything I needed to see. I'm getting this one instead!

    There was already not too much space in between the camera's right hand grip and a lens but now with this cage there's even less space in there, my fingies don't fit there too well😖. Otherwise its not bad at all!

    Its really good and solid cage but it has one big design flaw. It is advertised as it would directly fit Ronin RS arca plate. It does, but it fits wrong way - from right to left which means the motors will get on the way and you have to remove the Manfrotto->Arca plate from gimbal to attach the camera.
    On regular Ronin Arca plate you can slide it on the gimbal without shifting the balance.

      @EricBartolo ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah one of the biggest reason why I bought it is specifically for this and I was super let down to find out it was mounted the other side :(

    • @guywhitworth5764

      Is it just the little spring loaded catch that's preventing the camera cage from sliding onto the plate left to right? I'm just looking at the original Arca plate that came with my RS2, and it has a little groove that allows it to slide past the little catch when approaching from the left side, as it's obviously designed to do. Looking at the underside of this cage (timestamp 4:50), I can see the groove is only on the left side of the camera cage. Could a solution be to file a small groove into the right side of the cage, next to the battery door? Or is there too much that would get in the way? I'm interested in getting this cage for my A7S III, but not if it means having to rebalance the gimbal every time I remove the camera.

    Super Video. Danke dafür. So wie ich das verstanden habe, hast Du Dir den neuen Cage gekauft, um beim Fotografieren etwas an Gewicht zu einzusparen. Aber wenn Du lediglich 14 g einsparst, (ohne Top-Handle und Sidehandle, die Du ja beim fotografieren nicht brauchst) macht es doch gar nicht so viel Sinn, von dem bisherigen viel günstigeren Cage zu wechseln, oder?

    I were finding a L-Plate for my a7r5 but I saw this video and loved the sleek design of this cage. It makes me considered a lot. Should I go for this cage (I mean the base version without the handle bars, I just rarely record some videos for fun only)? I know it makes the look of top camera becomes so bulky a little bit, but it's quite impressed me.

      it's a solid cage I mostly use this one for protection and if I shoot mainly photos 1st and video second since it's a smaller cage and the hand grip of the camera is "more open" so to say

      Glad to hear it works well with the RS3. One of the other commenters has pointed out that you cannot slide the camera onto the gimbal plate from left to right, which means you have to remove the plate from the gimbal in order to slide it on from right to left. This requires you to then rebalance the gimbal each and every time you remove and reattach the camera. Have you found this to be an issue? Do you think it would be possible to file a small groove into the right side of the cage base, near the battery door area, to make it possible to slide the camera on from left to right, as DJI have designed their plate to do?
