Ally’s on route 2 was iconic and a staple enroute to the beach from inland…but frankly, I always preferred Dunkin Donuts. Not sure if Ally’s is there anymore.
My wife is a Castiglione. Her Grandfather was the owner of Cobb's Restaurant in Providence. Her great grandfather was apparently successful in real estate as well. They sold the Rock point property 3 weeks before the 1938 hurricane !
R.I. truly is a small state, seems we all have family or friends who knew someone, who owned someplace,or hung out at a beach,or Rocky Point or some other favorite hangout, anyone remember the nickname for Federal Hill? Or Silverlake? We use to call Federal Hill..Federeal Heights and Silverlake was Silverlane😀
These videos not only bring back all of my childhood memories but are also extremely well put together for the amount of likes and interactions. Well done!!!🎉
Beautiful spot. Thanks to RI gov positioning sewage waste treatment plants in the worst areas possible- ie near here and all the way up the bay in EG RI has some of the murkiest waters. My father grew up here in the 1950-60s - says the water was clear . And the amount of litter and graffiti on these ocean beaches and sites is pitiful
Grew up in RI. Know that spot. Never knew the history of it. I am really glad that the state purchased this property. Would be a shame if Scarborough was condos and hotels. Beautiful drone video.
@NE Dronalist YES, PLEASE! Question, what drone do you use and what would you recommend for first time purchasers? My family travels up north a lot and we would love to start using a drone for personal use. Thank you!
@Jason Allard, sadly, there are a lot of no parking signs on the street. I believe there is a very small place you can pull off without getting ticketed, or towed.
Even though this was one of your shorter vids...very entertaining! Someone in Rhode Island invented painkillers, no way!! Btw, major sarcastic intent there. 😂 Even the horses were high! Maybe that's where the expression "high horse" comes from, originally... 😁
I’m from RI, but my daughters and grandkids live in MO. So I’ll probably will stick to my annual summer trips to my beloved land of my nativity, East Providence, RI.
Been there many times- the ruins are haunting, but a bit more grown than what I last saw., and there are some really cool tidal pools nearby. Nicely shot/edited! (I've subscribed.) Btw, because this is RI; regardless of what one is seeking, folks always "know a guy." Need a plumber, electrician, councilman,... we know a guy.
From 1967 till now I'm still there, many changes I dug that place in 1971 found a lot of artifacts from the past. Also do the areas on the, with irrigation you can uncovered some very intriguing memories of the past. I work such projects over stinky Beach discovery of pipe 3. Someone was dumping raw sewage there, for twenty years. The condo complex, has major sewer distribution issues.
I do love this spot and it’s cool now knowing the history and why it is here. Unfortunately it’s difficult to navigate with how overgrown it is but even more unfortunate that people have started to tag it. Great video as always.
Have always seen pics of this place but have never been. Didn’t realize it’s at Scarborough… going to the beach with my dad on Saturday and will probably talk him into going here now! Love the video as always!
I really enjoyed this video. I was an RN and once I left its is when I really studied pharmaceuticals. We also visit RI alot since moving to Seekonk. Thank you for such an interesting info.
We used to call it the house....drank there when we were young...,the locals.....the foundation for house is there...I remember going there w my uncle when it was open.......
Always loved those remains At Scarborough- right across the street from where black point bar and grille was at rhat corner if you kept Walking straight towards the beach you’d hit that ruin
I went here a couple of times with one of my ex girlfriends. It's a really beautiful area. One thing I love about the state are the beaches. They are lovely.
It's funny, saw the ruins from the boat many times but never, not once ever have I been to Scarborough Beach! Too crowded, too much traffic! Lived in RI from birth till age 35. but my aunt and uncle had a waterfront home on West Beach in Charlestown RI. Not far from the Hitching Post. Best chowda & clamcakes in RI! BTW, most of the folks in the city think that the state ends at Scarborough Beach!
I've been to that abandoned house, it's not that far from great island where my grandmother lives, I always thought the place was hundreds of years old
Spent years hanging out with friends at Scarbouro, never knew this place existed,TX for info about the history.if I'm not mistaken, wasn't the original formula for Coke soda, cocaine? Glad I found ur channel, will be checking out all ur other videos,as a life long R.I resident,I'm sure I'll know all the other sites, lol
Hi my name is Kevin Joseph King what about the abandoned homes in Hayward, California like in the hills and whole city of hayward, ca. Hayward, CA do not get talked about that much just a little just like Castro Valley, California.
Do campground recently renovated the sewer system built new homes pipe # two on the Scarborough Beach is runoff from the neighborhood, recently the pipe was exposed a piece broke off, the runoff is expelling closer to the shore. The treatment plant nextdoor Scarborough South expels solvent. The neighborhood in the summertime there's over a million and a half gallons of sewage in one season. Rsin more than three-quarters of an inch of rain the waste treatment plant can't handle it handle it so it looks like go out raw for floods. The South Beach gets closed North Beach remains open my tests have proved the ocean water is contaminated. I have recently moved the smell in August this southern breeze forget about it. From a child I was as an adult won't go in the water stopped eating fish and shellfish. I'm disgusted with the d e m the EPA coastal Narragansett fisheries the whole ball of Wax go dive around the areas where I used to go dive back in the looks like a cesspool. That piece of land you speak of was a lookout point during the war signals was sent to Jamestown in Newport get your guns ready like the boats on fire push the wooden boats out into the water and burn them suckers. This morning's tree in the Jamestown library on Scarborough then any other museum in the world. Enjoy
Just out of high school (EG) I went to the carriage house (converted into a home) with two friends one of whom dated the girl who lived there at the time (71' or 72'). We didn't get to go into the house just talked to the girl at the door, I really don't remember much but maybe we dropped her off there, those days were hazy. Anyway this story doesn't tell you much about who were the last people to live in the carriage house..................but yea I remember going there because it was on Scarborough beach and not the ruin you now see.............Steve Z.
OK Pain Killer is cool but where are the best donuts in Rhode Island?
Ally’s on route 2 was iconic and a staple enroute to the beach from inland…but frankly, I always preferred Dunkin Donuts. Not sure if Ally’s is there anymore.
@@deebsbeekeeper5058 sure is. “Allie’s”
If not Allies, PVD donuts is pretty bomb too.
On Maine land ally’s but on block island Payne’s killer donuts r the best

Amazing as always and your edit skills and time put into these movies doesn’t go unnoticed. Much love.

This is a great spot for fishing and bird watching as well .

As much as I love the spot... we all know it is called "Stinky Beach" for a reason !...great video Great job !
I love this spot! It’s a great place to take creative photos. We stayed at the Anchor motel which is close by.
Oh cool! I've seen that! I took pictures in there! Had no idea what it was!
Sitting in Narragansett on vacation about three miles from the site and this pops into my feed…. Am I being monitored or is it synchronicity?
Thanks for filling in the gaps.
I always wanted to know the story of that building thanks
Nice video Jason, I always thought that this was a church that got destroyed by a hurricane. Thanks for the really good info.
I do love this spot and it’s cool now knowing the history and why it is here. Unfortunately it’s difficult to navigate with how overgrown it is but even more unfortunate that people have started to tag it. Great video as always.
Thank you for the info! I never knew the whole story behind this! Well done on the video and commentary!
I used to go there as a kid, when there were a lot less trees and bushes. I knever knew what it was though, so thanks for the video explaining it!
Excellent job! One of my favorite spots.

What a great video, thanks Jason!
The sea wall in front of it has been eroding away for years but I hope that carriage house stays for another few hundred years.
Love in RI and it’s an amazing pace to see

I’ve been here and it is beautiful, i did a small video on the ruins but didn’t know the history. Thank you
I went here a couple of times with one of my ex girlfriends. It's a really beautiful area. One thing I love about the state are the beaches. They are lovely.

You guys are talking about donuts and I am talking about treasure chests 😂
When I looked the ruins up it said it used to be an old casino. I hope this vid is right though because it's more interesting.

one day, i'm gonna go in with some tools and clean up that area to make it nice and usable again instead of totally overgrown.

I lost count in my mid-20s of how many pretty ladies I took behind that wall and I'll just leave it at that 😭
Nice spot,
too bad its
Stinky and polluted.
I mean it’s still at Scarborough…. It’s not THAT peaceful with all the bus loads of people in
My grandpa said it was a old firehouse
Do you have a grandfather or older relative who taught highschool English?

How is the hurricane treating you all?
Wind is ramping up
It's nothing crazy. On and off rain and high wind gusts.
Just got in from walking the dog
Yah, same here.
No power since 1030. Nice out now, no rain, still windy sky is brightening
