This channel is wildly underrated, you deserve millions of subs. Driven and boated by this so many times never to truly appreciate it's history. Great story telling and filming. Thank you!
I just dont understand how your channel only has 29k subs. i live in mass and love your channel man. trust me when i say you will blow up soon enough. i can see the amount of work and time you put into these videos. thank you for sharing them with us.
Hello, Rhode Islander here, i want to say thank you for all your work dedicated to our state! Ive learned a lot about the place ive lived all my life that i would have never knew otherwise!
Having grown up in Fall River, MA, I have been very interested in the local history here. I just learned from this video about the remains of the steamer Mount Hope still in existence. Almost every book written about the Fall River Line mentions the Mount Hope, and how much it was loved by the locals. Thank you for teaching me something new. 😊
I remember year ago, listening to BZ as they gave there traffic reports of the Mount Hope Bridge, one time on my way back from the casino, I got to a detour, ended up going over that bridge, well there was an accident in front of us, I sat on its peak for some time. Two narrow lanes , very high and steep, so the ships could past under. Freaky!
Wow Jason, you never disappoint…..this video is fantastic! The extensive research and presentation preparation makes this one real special. It has been a bit, but the wait was well worth it. Big time thanks Jason!
As a life long Rhode Islander I always look forward to your videos.Love your blend of history mixed with a bit of humor. Keep up the great work Jason 👍
Nice, been waiting for another video, so happy to see this one!! I have always wondered what those old structures were. I had always assumed that they were docks, but wondered why some were in the middle of the water and not attached to anything. I had no idea that they were mainly shipwrecks! I can't wait to see what you do next!!
Great video Jason. Have you ever heard of a steamship named The Larchmont that sank off the coast of Block Island in February of 1907? Dan Harrington a Providence Journal staff writer gives talks on it. Saw his presentation this past Tuesday at the Johnston library. Fascinating story!
This channel is awesome man! This could be on Discovery channel or National Geographic or something. Top notch I appreciate you and all your hard work man Truely amazing You deserve a slot on network television.
in bellingham mass, off 126 going to mendon there is a factory deep in the woods hidden on box pond...please do a piece on that place, entrance is on same side as a old bar called petes blue bird...right after bar you see hidden road.
I walk this path on India Point Park every day with my dog. Born and raised on Jamestown. Thanks for this piece of Info that I should have already known!
As a Rhode Islander, I really like your videos. The content explains a lot of things that I have been wondering living here . Do you have any content about the building of the statehouse? I’ve always been interested and intrigued by that structure. Thanks
I have lived in rhode island for 57 years Jason and his teams vids are absolutely amazing they are beyond thorough his research is the best I have ever seen Jason if you read this message me i have some interesting places I think you might enjoy exploring
anybody scratching their head at just how many things can be abandoned in total crap hole 40 miles wide because it’s a portal to hell . i mean even the tallest building was abandoned long ago
Great job, I run the marina there in Providence. We have a tour boat company or 2 there that bring tours by there. Nice dig at the 195 debacle too haha. Theirs a couple sunk boats near there too.
Enjoyed this video very much Jason...I've driven by there many times with no clue that these wrecks were there. Not being a native to the area, there would be no way to know without being told...thanks for telling me! 🙂
Great video! Loved it and subbed! One small insignificant point: these aren’t shipwrecks. They didn’t run aground and wreck themselves on a foggy night when the captain & mate were both drunk. In maritime parlance they’re called derelicts because they were abandoned to rot.
Fascinating history! I’ve actually come across those ruins while walking in that park before, but I always assumed they were just old docks or piers… crazy to think that they were shipwrecks, and one of many! Dope video!
Hey! Fellow Rhode Islander here. You do such a great job with this. A lot of people comment how wildly underrated this channel is, and I agree. I’ve been to most, if not all, of the places you’ve covered, and it’s awesome. Taking my daughter for picnics at India Point Park and talking to her about the shipwrecks is a great memory. Keep up the good work.
OMG Mr Jason i had no idea that area was a graveyard for shipwrecks I've been by that area a zillion times never knew there was sunken ships there i thought they were old rotten piers WOW that is mind blowing .. Do a part 2 when there is a Moon low Tide .. Again Mr Jason you are a national Treasure of Good Old Rhode Island you are a breath of fresh air for this State .. If you are looking for fresh ideas do a video of the Nike Missiles that were in Bristol RI .. I am giving you a Hundred Trillion Thumbs up from Tiverton Take care Mr Jason you are the best of the best
I love how they lit up your favorite ship one last time before it laid to rest. Also loving that map layout of where each vessel is located under the water.
During WWll my grandfather was the vessels navigator, steaming some 18 time circumnavigation around the world. The Atlantic by summer and Pacific by winter.
That’s so cool, my grandparents used to tell me stories of how it used to be in Providence just how important the port city was! We are from Riverside RI.
Nasty Narry's are what we called Narragansett Beer, especially if warm. But now we miss them. Grew up in Millbury, just over Stateline in MA. Right along the Blackstone River, one of early America's most important.
There is, indeed, something extra creepy about shipwrecks. You should document the barge on Green island next. ( before it - and the island disappear).
I’m glad I came across your channel; this was a really cool video! If you’re okay with feedback, I did wanna mention - the additional audio in the background with bird sounds(?) was really distracting for me & I had to turn on subs to follow along with the story… I’m AuDHD tho, so this might be another ~me~ thing. Either way, new subscriber earned!
Eeeeee... The map of the ship 🚢 under the water next to the pier was unexpected but exciting to see. Had to rewind this video 15 times just to get a better look at it. 😅
Hey Jason, I'm not sure if it's still there but a scou barge sank in 2017 in the bay a stones throw away where Sims Metal Management is now in Providence. I know it had been there for years
I live in Fall River, grew up in Assonet, and either have been to some of these sites, or plan to go to them because of your channel. Thanks for opening up history on all the old places that are currently aging away to dust.
I covered that wreck in one of the videos on my channel - it was sunk during the last naval battle of WWII, The Battle of Point Judith. Incredible how much history is around here.
I live near the big gas tank by the freeway in Dorchester. All through the harbor and into the Neponset river is full of rotting piles sticking up through the water. I don't think anybody around here now remembers what it used to be. Not too far from Providence. Probably no shipwrecks though.
@@shaolinfox30 If the water is so polluted that it inhibits the decaying process of these ships, I'd be a bit hesitant to eat any fish from around there. Having said that, I suspect that fishing there would probably be pretty good. Those derelict ships likely provide decent breeding grounds and good protection for fish to thrive.
The same thing for me had no idea those were shipwrecks. been by that area a zillion times I thought it was old rotting piers and never knew RI had a ship graveyard

Nice job Jason, love the work you do here in New England!

Can you please do one with Rhode island Lost Lighthouses.
Very excellent presentation….great work🤗
I'd seen these wrecks since childhood and always wondered what page they occupied in our history books. Very informative as always.
Out of curiosity, can I just put my kayak in the water and explore these wrecks from above?

Driving on 195 everyday to go to Fall River to work I always wondered what that wood stuff was sticking out
Now because of you I know
Awesome video man!
Great work Jason. I will be looking forward to your next one.
Can you do a video about the bridge that’s stuck up and caught fire a year or two ago? That’d be cool
I created a video all about it a couple years ago - it’s on my channel 👍🏼

Thanks for sharing this his this is awesome
Amazing! I plan on exploring that area in my little boat this summer. I’ll look out so I don’t become another shipwreck.
New subscriber your videos are great and very much underrated.
Well done!
Every time driving by I always thought that was wood that has been dumped into the bay!
Keep em coming.

wow that was great! I drive by that everyday! I had no idea.

I have a pretty interesting abandoned mall in Massachusetts that you might be interested in! There's really no information on it.
It was nice to see the 195 bridge open and working back when you recorded this. Great video as always.
