There is no need to create a black filled layer to centre something, CMD + A will select everything then you can use the move tool and click on centre vertically and horizontally.
Thank you PHLEARN and special thanks for Aron. Phlearn give us new tutorial to help develop our skill. I love Phlearn Photoshop tutorial. I hope next time we get new concept tutorial. Thank you Phlearn once again and I pray long live Phlearn .
DAMN AARON BACK AT IT WITH ANOTHER PHOTOSHOP TUTORIAL. for real tho.. the refined radius tool just changed my PS life. thank you for showing me that! i had no idea about it LOL.
You guys just always seem to amaze me, you make it so easy for a beginner to learn and in depth so a even a professional can follow along, Thanks for sharing guys.
instead of creating a new layer and fill it will black in order to center the image, you can actually select the surface in wich you want the layer to be centered (in our case the whole document Ctrl+a) center it and then deselect. it's easier because you don't have to create another layer and than delete it. Thank you phlearn for all the good tutorials.
Thank you for the tutorial :) just one note, the easy and faster way to center a text (or other layer) : 1. make a full selection "CTRL/CMD + A" 2. "V" for move tool, and in the tool panel use the middle button (or left, right, top.. what you need) 3. "CTRL/CMD + D" for deselect, it's done. (you don't need any added layer or fill..)
Aaron reminds me so much of David Spade . I have so much fun watching you videos and I have learned so much. I feel like I have turned a corner and am now making pretty good images on purpose instead of by accident.
Oooo I learned you can copy fx of one layer to another... so happy to know that, thanks Aaron... also slowly getting the hang of using layer masks this way so thanks for another tutorial showing their use.
13:45 instead of creating a new layer and filling it completely with black to center something you could also just: 1) select the layer you want to center 2) select move tool (V) 3) Select everything in the picture (Control/Cmd + A) 4) use the buttons at the top to center as shown in the video at 13:55 Hope it was helpful :)
To center images I just press 'Ctrl+A', pre 'V' to bring up the move tool and then press on the align buttons at the top - depending on what layer you are on depends on what gets centered.
Awesome tutorial, Aaron! :) Just one quick note, I've found that creating a new black-filled layer and all as a reference for Photoshop to center an element isn't actually necessary. All you need to do is pull out the box selection tool, hit ctrl/cmd+a to select the whole document, then you get the alignment tools that work exactly the same way.
Hi Aaron, I like very much your tutorials, but in this tutorial I see how you center the text on canvas is cool but I think is more simple to use another method: CTRL+A to make a selection with size of document and than with move tool center the layer(s) selected, in my opinion is more simple than create a layer and fill is. What do you think about this method?
Hi, could you make a similar video how to select hairy areas with the Photoshop CC 19.1.1 update please? The refine edge tool is different and confusing! Thanks so much for making these videos, you teach me things in minutes that (before finding your videos) took me hours to find out how to do!
I think that this is great Idea but the explanation is juat for beginners so why we go back and forth it's gonna be a great idea to take this for the next level and just explain the concept behind this great ideas !!!
hi, bro just wants's say I love your channel I had to learn so many things I thought that photoshop is so complicated, but when I found your channel I change my maid I found it so funny and thanks again.
Dude! Flipping through blending modes is HUGE!! Thanks! Also, how are you adjusting fonts without the font selected? I understand the layer is selected. But for me to change already typed font, I have to "CMD A" in the text box to highlight all the font, then scroll through changes. Aaron you are the only resource I use for tutorials!
i have a question if you can please replay , do the photographer tell (direct) the models or celebrities how to pose??? or they just do what they want ! and thank you for the nice videos it was very helpful ,and you are an amazing person !!!
I know how to do everything and I have experience with Photoshop but the only thing I have a huge issue with is the size. When I create a new file, I'm not sure what to use for the size. Something as simple as that is the only problem for me. I used a variety of sizes and I can't find one that works for both my computer and phone. I want the album covers to not only be good on my computer but good when I import the song to my phone. It looks completely stretched, blurry, or it will look too small on my phone or computer. What should the settings be set to? That's really all I need to know and I get a million different answers online that I did try and never worked so I'm not sure.
The one detail I was watching for, perhaps missed, was what resolution you were setting this up for, as it would likely be for Printing. It is nice to see Phlearn translated into Dog; I hadn't realized your audience had gotten so diverse!
Hey Aaron thank you for the tips. One question though. Can you tell me the measurements with bleed for a cover cd and cd itself? Also how to get the design ready for print?
what's the best way to save photoshop files for the best quality digital and print? I also have an issue with my colors not matching what's in Photoshop.
pls when i do any album art how do i send it to you so u can rate it

Tip: You can create photoshop actions to center layers and then assign shortcut keys. I have created two separate actions, one for horizontal and the other for vertical. Saves a hell lot of time when working with several layers. Aaron must have done the long way for tutorial purpose.
Great video Aaron, as I was watching I had a question I needed to ask but then in less than a minute you answered it lol. Recently moved over the a new 27" iMac and missed the ability to flick through the layer styles, then you mentioned V + Shift and +/- which is exactly what I needed to know. Great video once again bro. Thank you
Hey Aaron and the Phlearn team. Thank you very much for all this tutorial it makes me better on photoshop. I just want to say if you can make a photomanipulation tutorial to phlearn more about :)
A lot easier and faster way to center something is to select all (Ctrl+A) and then use the move tool. You don't have to create a new layer then like shown in this tutorial
Awesome video, cool thing to (ph)learn! I'd love to see a tutorial of how you change the resolution of an image to a better quality. It would be great since I have not found any recent tuts telling you how to do that within the latest content of Photoshop.
You always know how to pick the right type of tutorials to get everyone's creative juices flowing. Another great job, thanks Aaron!
Your enthusiasm is a huge part of what makes this show awesome lol.
I'm at 3:54 and I have to go - but I just learned how to do something that's been a problem for YEARS. Can't wait to finish this. Excellent!!
Man these key/mouse shortcuts are golden. Keep 'em coming!
They are useful :D
It was confusing before, since hes using mac :D
Yeah

DAMN AARON BACK AT IT WITH ANOTHER PHOTOSHOP TUTORIAL.
for real tho.. the refined radius tool just changed my PS life. thank you for showing me that! i had no idea about it LOL.

icic5 hey bro how did you get to work doing covers for artists? I want to pursue a job like yourz 👍💯
Simple and professional. colors, textures. very good!
That refine mask tool was truly the best thing I learned. I didn't realize that's what it does. Awesome!
You guys just always seem to amaze me, you make it so easy for a beginner to learn and in depth so a even a professional can follow along, Thanks for sharing guys.

***** Hi I saw your video but I have a question how do you write the tracks music on the back cover?
Phlearn I'm just tuning back into you. I have been healing for 5 months. And I love your tutorials. Thank you!!
Thank you for the tutorial :)

Every day you learn something new you are already a wonderful person
I will try and apply the lesson I send you the result
Aaron reminds me so much of David Spade . I have so much fun watching you videos and I have learned so much. I feel like I have turned a corner and am now making pretty good images on purpose instead of by accident.

Thank you for taking your precious time out of your lovely day to teach people about making album cover arts! Great video, thanks a lot!
Wow wow wow Aaron, slow down! You just showed me something mindblowing! I have to watch it again to understand! :D I love Phlearn!
Apart from the method, I find it’s really helpful to listen to the music when doing this, so the album cover fits the theme and meaning
13:45 instead of creating a new layer and filling it completely with black to center something you could also just:
1) select the layer you want to center
2) select move tool (V)
3) Select everything in the picture (Control/Cmd + A)
4) use the buttons at the top to center as shown in the video at 13:55
Hope it was helpful :)
To center images I just press 'Ctrl+A', pre 'V' to bring up the move tool and then press on the align buttons at the top - depending on what layer you are on depends on what gets centered.
This was so informative! My photoshop class just finished our album covers!
very nice , the effects blend in perfectly

Another great episode - thanks again Aaron, I always (ph)learn so many cool new tricks I can't wait to try out!
I think you can also center the text by selecting all with Ctrl+A and then using the align tools
OMG, I need you here. Awesome.
Beautiful as always, instead of creating a new black layer isn't simpler to hit CMD + A ?

Wow, awesome video!
11:04 i was making notes but from here on i just stared at the screen nothing went in, gone back now to try again xD Wish me luck
To align the middle I use the selection (Cmd + A in the Type Layer) and then the alignment buttons.
Awesome! I'm a novice designer and this helped A lot! Thank you!

for the aligning of the text .....isn't it faster if you just click ctrl(cmd) + A to select the full screen and align it?

You make Photoshop look easy
I need the project files
A lot easier and faster way to center something is to select all (Ctrl+A) and then use the move tool. You don't have to create a new layer then like shown in this tutorial
Important question for Aron why do you don't use smart objects?
Liked & Subscribed, good video man, I'm sort of new at this & this vid gave me something to work on.

Hi Aaron, you making very good videos, I learned a lot. But you have to give more frequent Shortcuts screen.

Noah price what graphic design is this
Just at the right time, I need a flyer for a friend's local gig :)
Awesome video, cool thing to (ph)learn! I'd love to see a tutorial of how you change the resolution of an image to a better quality. It would be great since I have not found any recent tuts telling you how to do that within the latest content of Photoshop.
Hi Aaron, is there an alternative to the refined radius tool in Photoshop CC 19.1.1 update?
Is there a way to duplicate effects and stuff from a photo in one layer and apply them to another quickly without doing it manually???
Thank you for your awesome videos!
what is the keyboard shortcut for grouping layers
