I just plugged my new one in and I LOVE it! But I didn't even know where the "ice compartment" was from the manual, so your video helped me IMMENSELY, thank you so much! (don't you HATE when you ruin something when you guess about such things?)
Lol ya the only thing after using it for a long time is I wish the ice area was deeper so I could fit say 20 lbs of ice in it so it lasts longer. Those fell freezer packs don't do much after about 10 min
Question: Does this unit do anything to cool regular water? Because it feels really cool just with tap water, I haven't frozen the ice packs yet. LOVING THIS! I bought it for the garage to play ping pong (super hot here) but am realizing it's so quiet, it will work great in my guest room. My house AC is STRONG in the master bedroom while my guest bedroom has only ONE vent...grrrr, what was my designer thinking? Everyone wants their guests comfortable!
Thanks for this excellent video tutorial. I am just learning how to use my huge portable one. I believe it is the same brand as your larger one but mine is quite a bit larger with a water capacity of over 10 gallons. I am having a hard time wrapping my mind around how these work.
I live in NM and I love the dryness here and this turned my room into Florida in short order. I didn't understand that you have to open some windows. I still don't get how hot air from inside will run outside when it's over 90 degrees out there. I just don't understand the process on a scientific level. I have watched another video that focused on that part but I need to learn more.
One thing I found I was doing wrong was I didn't have it level enough to have the water trickle over and go down all 3 sides where the filters or pads are. I had one pad that wasn't getting any water. I need to monkey around with this but it's got a ton of water in it right now and I can't really budge it. It will have to wait.
I have to give this time, I know. But to me, an air conditioner works so much better, whether you're in a humid environment or a dry one. Sadly, my RV ac hasn't worked in almost a year and my portable ac unit up and died last night.
me too, but mine is a 5 gallon one
ok i see the bigger one has the two pads on side i have the smaller one think im gonna grab the bigger one
It has 3 pads it works really well. There is one on the back one on each side and a larger area for ice to add extra cooling
My husband just bought me the bigger one. I live downstairs in the basement area at my daughters and the ac does not work so to keep me cool he got it for me and to keep electricity bill low. He couldn’t get a window unit because of the kind of windows they have. I’m not in an in closed room it’s all opened up and opened to the stairs also. I’m sure it’s fine to use it down here because my son in law set it up for me and he is very smart when it comes to things around the house. I want to look up this video so I would know how to maintain it myself. My Question is 🙋🏻♀️ what is the mode button? What do I use that for? I looked in the manual but didn’t understand 🤔
@SouthernAngelsStamping the mode button switches it from fan to cool. Also you shouldn't uses these indoors unless your in a super dry area. The extra humidity these give off will cause mold issues for you in the future. You want to maintain humidity below 60% to prevent mold growth
@@Self.reliant Oh great! Thanks for letting me know I will let my husband know this but he won’t be happy to hear it after spending money for it 🫤 Wander why they don’t tell you that before you buy them online. They have those smaller ones you sit by your bed and those are the same kind as this. Why are those safe to use?
@@SouthernAngelsStamping it still puts moisture in the air just not as much as the bigger one. Also it's safe to use in dry dessert locations just north in humid places
Mine leaks real bad
Was the drain loose on it or cracked in shipping.
