I've only had the time to listen to it once (gotta do some 2022 listening soon...) but as I expected, I enjoyed it a lot. Since "Under The Grey Banner," Olof has been busy with Amaranthe, and it may have coloured the music here a little. A must hear if you like (EU) power metal!

Also never heard of these guys- listened to a track online and now very happy to stream through their catalogue.

"Celestial Squadron" and "Through Galaxies Endless" are my personal favourites

I like this band a lot. But I can only take them in small doses. Astronomy is my favorite album of theirs. The opening track of that album is a symphonic treat. I would compare Dragonland somewhat to Epica but heavier on the sci-fi bent. Great review, Pete.
And fun fact: Olof is also the founder/guitarist/primary songwriter of Amaranthe, which is the female-fronted band I'd recommend anyone listen to. Amaranthe features the angelic vocals of Elize Ryd and clean vocals with Nils Molin who also fronts the power metal band, Dynazty.

Thanks Pete, also discovered this a while ago. Amazing stuff and I agree: they definitely have their own sound.

Thanks. One I may not have looked at if it wasn't on SoT!
I am definitely with the happy stuff as an option - some people aren't I know. Wouldn't listen to only this sort of thing. It is very good though
Plenty of metal and musicality - and sufficiently symphonic for me (I often don't like power metal dripping in background keyboards - either proper guitar based or proper symphonic)

Happy power-metal...ouch! That's not for me. I'll get the Candlemass instead :-) Cheers.
