It's hard to say because both Lemieux and Crosby were out of the game for long stretches due to cancer, retirement, and concussions. Heck, plus the Penguins declared bankruptcy in 1998 and had to trade a lot of players away, something that wasn't Lemuiex's fault it was the owners mismanaging the team. I'd have to see but I don't think either players were playing those full 11 years, especially Lemuiex since he was out of hockey a long time and Jagr didn't play with Lemieux for his first 5 or 6 years.
you have a valid point as far as success goes, the problem the other stats, points and scoring titles are mostly where you get rated by and Towes has more of a defensive role however he is more than capable of putting up great numbers I would like to see him more in an offensive role

With that said, they cover all major North American sports and spread themselves too thin. Their hockey knowledge is mediocre at best. They seem to think that the most telling and definitive statistic for any hockey player is point-totals.

I'm sorry.. he is not. In both Olympics yes he scored the most important goals I give you that but he totally vanished in the other tough games. In 2009 he scored almost all of his points in the early rounds and basically watched when Malkin and Fleury carried the team. Only in 2016 did I see him as the captain that lead by example and then you could debate that Murray deserved the conn. Crosby has won a lot but its hard to say that he is a better "winner" than perhaps someone like Toews.

The fact is Crosby's playoff stats speak volumes and he's the most dominant of his generation and he wins the cup this year I don't think there's anything to argue because back to back is an incredible feat.

He was dominante in some games, but he allowed way too many soft goals. We can talk about Kessel, Letang, Bonino or even Martin Jones, but not Murray.
