I think the bigger problem was him stopping the carriers in the wrong position. Had he flew them beyond his ground army the vikings wouldn't have been able to snipe them so easily. Also I don't think Stats was winning. Cure's army was very well capable of taking on Stats's 4 Carriers. I'd say they were quite even until the last fight.
Great match in this one. Usually I don't care for Stats, but he played so outta his mind I really wanted him to win. A bit careless in those late games though.
Stats forgot you need Storm to deal with mass viking/bio... Castors were hardcore stroking Stats only for him to lose to right clicking on a saturated planetary. What a huge, embarrassing blunder. Well deserved Toss loss.
Man, Stats just threw that match at the end. Oof. Quick question: Why don't Terran players use Liberators against Carrier Interceptors? Not the Carriers themselves, but the Interceptors. Feels like they'd be perfect at taking down tons of them.
It's cool to see Stats in form after watching him struggle for a year. It's also cool to see Protoss advancing to the finals, which has not happened in forever. I agree with were a bit biased though.
Stats final attack against the PF may have ended the game but wasn't that deciding. The armies of Cure and Stats were quite even at this point and this happened due to Cure killing almost all that carriers in the fight before. In the first fight vs. the Carriers of Stats Cure recognized he had way too little vikings and pumped out 27 of them in a really short time. He lost almost all of them vs the carriers but after that Stats couldn't recover his carrier army and thus had to fight with a force that was managable for Cure. I really wouldn't consider this a throw by Stats but a win caused by really quick tactical reactions by Cure.
He decided to fight in range of the PF though. He might have lost anyway but this decision by Stats secured the L. That's not to take anything from Cure though. He was incredible.
@@ZCasavant I don't think so. He decided to attack the PF. The fight in it's range was forced upon him because Cure attacked in this moment. But that attack of Cure wouldn't have been as successful if Stats' carriers wouldn't have been poorly positioned. They were an easy target for Cure's vikings.
@@georgvonrechenberg2217 Yeah. After watching a few more times, I agree with you. he was more or less forced to fight there. Still, I maintain that he made choices that put him in this position. He could have won this. He knows it too.
@@ZCasavant Yes. Until the last fight the game still was undecided. Stats misplaced his carriers in that fight and attacking the PF probably wasn't the best thing to do. Cure's mass viking play before that last fight made the game even again but with better scouting Stats may had been able to counter the vikings more efficiently.
Cry about it? Protoss looks so strong right now and Stats played like an ape and deserved the L. When you constantly lose bases and probes without anything in return, you deserve to lose when trading equally.
I mean if you compare him to Artosis (which is unfair) no he doesn't do as good. But if you compare State to other casters like Wardi, State is doing great.
Love it how all game they were basically going on about how stats is playing flawless and how good he is doing blah blah blah giving Curl 0 credit. Stats doesn't let a drop land oh he is amazing so good wow then when he flies a full warp prism with at least 1 DT if not more and gets 0 dmg losing all the units they just make a little joke about it and keep going on about how amazing he is playing. Going about how the vikings have 0 armour upgrades and wow carriers will melt them. Erm the vikings have +3 air weapons they will also 1 shot the carriers.... Biased as hell commentary was so happy to see stats lose the series
The reason they are hyping up Stats is because he has very recently played much worse. Today he showcased his amazing defense of old. It wasn't biased. Stats played amazing. Not sure why you're hating so hard, lol.
@@ajaydillon4759 Go and have a watch again and hear how objective their commentary is. The job of a good caster is to be neutral on the players. If you would listen to the commentary without any picture you would expect an absolute 1 sided beat down yet he loses the series. Not mad at stats at all more about the casting. I was actually hoping that he would get through

@@ajaydillon4759 There is a difference between losing a series and getting through in a GSL tournament. I was hoping for both Cure and stats to go through and got what I wanted. The fact that made me glad that stats lost is nothing to do with his gameplay and everything to do with the casting.
Spoiler block
Not all heros wear capes!
Fucking hell, Stats going for the planetary there at the end of G3 really cost him.
I was rooting for him hard. That hurt to watch.
Yah thats unfortunate that’s basically exactly how you’d expect Protoss to win a late game and he just threw against the mass repair

The graphics are on point this season, GSL forever
Cure might do pushup after every practice game😮
25:42 LOL, nice Artosis Easter egg there from tasteless! XD
DANCE ALL DAY! XD
lol immediately scrolled down to see who caught it
Cure jacked
Congrats to [player with bangs]

Wow what an ending
Great series! Stats absolutely should have won game 3, unfortunate that he attacked into that planetary
music: Get Low ...Damned anthem
Amazing game
am i crazy or is cure YOKED from that endgame interview???
Commentator clearly supporting Stats
Tasteless and State are both Protoss players
Plus it's very exciting to see him back into form
maybe because he is the underdog and everybody wants to root for him? ever heard of that or do you live in a cave?

It was quite annoying.
"Yeah and the economies are equal *Teran income 3.2k, Toss income 1.8k"
Yeah, we get it casters, you like Toss. Calm down...
@12:19 ironic because stat really do that (i think?)
Mala decisión!
Le costó la última partida :(
Fue mejor, pero lo arruinó
I just don't understand why I never a sentry around disrupters
stats play really well but mistake attacking PF cost him the game.
Cure is very underrated
he has literally won 11 premier tournaments, he is NOT underrated, for anybody who knows him.

As soon as vikings are out it's a loss for protoss. TvP is such a joke right now.

hes doing great imo
