I'm lazy so I rarely make poached eggs by themselves, but I do regulary make them when I cook some spicy instant noodles because it's so easy with them. Just cook the water until it boils (can add salt, don't need to). Add noodles, then cook them for about a minute or 2. Then dump in 1 or 2 eggs straight from their shells and cook for 3 or so more minutes. At the end just catch the eggs + noodles in a sieve or drain the water and what you're left with is perfectly poached eggs. For some reason the noodles do a good job in minimizing the ugly parts. I dunno why it works like that, but it just does.
Also can fry chopped meat and/or some chopped veggies on the side quickly and at the end throw it all together. Then top it off with cheese (even better if you have a burrata) and you have yourself a delicious meal that takes 10-15 minutes in total (including cutting time).
