    I'm learning french with Pimsleur right now and I'm really happy and satisfied with the results, almost at the second unit, I highly recomend it, Might be boring for some people for not following Duolingo style of lessons but I feel is effective. unfortunately Dutch which I was super interested, and many other languages, have only 1 unit.

    Thank you very much for the video, agree with your picks since I've used these apps myself. Rocket French is a solid allaround program, the dialogues may seem a little dry compared to frenchpod101, but still very good. I have completed only level 1 for now and enjoyed this program. I find Frenchpod101 lessons much less organized in structure, I can't see a logical flow from dialogue 1 to 2, from 2 to 3 etc as it is present in Rocket. There are additional examples for every new word learned, but many times they use phrases or complex tenses that were not previously explained. The dialogues themselves are very good indeed. Another good point in frenchpod101 is your personal teacher with premium plus subscription. I have purchased 1 year membership with teacher assistance for 154$, I think this deal is great. French grammar is not easy for me and I like that all my questions are answered and many details are also provided in these asnwers. Answer time is around 24-48 hours, so it's not instant but worth waiting. For me, dialogues and teacher availability is the most valuable resource in frenchpod101. But if you like structure from A to Z, Rocket will suit you better. I have completed Pimsleur 1 module and do not want to continue with this program for now. It's 100 times more slow paced than any other course I've seen. One learns about 5-7 words and 2 new sentences during eahc 30 minutes lesson and then just repeat, repeat and repeat. Grammar is not explained at all. I would also recommend to check out Coffee break French and Speakly programs, they are very good too for learning French.

    Do you think combining pimsleur and rocket french is effective? Or would it be counter productive?

      @loistalagrand  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess it could have some benefits, but doing both is going to be very time-consuming. In addition, there's going to be quite a bit of overlap.
      My advice would be to go for one of them only.

      @@loistalagrand would pimsleur be good for 3rd graders?

      @@robryggs2857 Yes. It's very simple. But I don't know if a third-grader would have the discipline to complete a Pimsleur program.
