    I'm glad you used your gloves! I'm such a mother hen! 🤣 Without doing any research whatsoever, using wallpaper to line a trunk feels historically accurate. People have always used what they had on hand, and people have always liked to make things pretty. 🙂 I've *finally* started work on my dolls' kitchen, but I definitely want to make one (or more!) of these trunks once the kitchen is up and running. The dolls are getting impatient about the kitchen, so I better finish that before I get sidetracked again. 😄

    That wasn't what I was expecting, but now I can't remember what I expected. While watching this video, I got an image in my mind of a trunk in my parents basement. I remember looking in it, and there might have been a scrapbook with black paper in it and photographs and news clipping. I seem to remember my dad saying it was his grandfather's . I'm not sure on which side of the family. He was closer to his mother. But didn't really live with her. He was shuffled around to different relatives till he'd lived in 19 places by the time he was 17. This is scaring me. I remember my own grandparents but not all 4. One grandmother had died so I never met her. And the grandmother I did know was on her 3rd husband. So I can't remember any great grandfathers. Is kind of scary that no one will remember me in a few short generations. My dad said his mother's parents didn't approve of her husband, my grandfather I never met. So they drove the couple apart.
    Anyway...the cover of the trunk I remember seeing was kind of strange. Sort of shiny, a sort of drab grey/green solid color. I don't think it was leather. There were straps and buckles, and a tray inside. I wonder if it was paper, or canvas, or oilcloth... Maybe it was a military issued Footlocker. Hmmmm....
    Sorry if that doesn't make sense. I was writing while trying to remember, and more info came to me as I wrote

    • @littlegretchensworkshop7665
      @littlegretchensworkshop7665  ปีที่แล้ว

      I totally get it! Many of the things I make or re-create are from fragments from my childhood memories. My dad had a military footlocker as well the green color. It had a Tray on the inside as well. I wanted it to look like something you would find in an attic or basement or even use for blankets or keepsake storage. These kind of project do bring up alot of memories.
