Theirs something about the 2 lunger sound that. Is so so relaxing. I 1st drove an A at 7 years old with 2-14 dad was plowing with a Case LA with 4-14. Plowing some nights with the powerful 6 volt lights. Great memories that can never be taken away. That was the spring of 1955. No heat housers or cabs warm clothes and boots. It was a wonderful time in my farming life. Now we use 500+ hp 45 ft tools that does the driving Comfort cabs with all the trimmings. Even ref to keep you food cool. Progress ??? Sometimes I wonder. 🤔🤔🤔

Thanks for this well done video. I can actually hear and clearly see that good ole tractor working without all that background music and blah blah messing it up. My cousin has a 730 diesel and we love to hear it when he fires up that pony engine and brings that big popper to life, hooks to his 4 bottom plow and heads out to the gardens to turn that ground. First time I saw this tractor, my cousin (an engineer) was disking on his property and I'm out there yelling at him to give it some throttle because I couldn't believe what it was doing at just an idle!🤣
He just ignored me, stood up and reached forward, patted that ole tractor like it was his favorite horse, and sat back down.

Beautiful tractor!! I still have an A,B & G. My big tractor was a 720 diesel. Pulled 4 bottom plow for many years. Love these 2 cylinder tractors. Remember watching my dad when I was 5 yrs old run the G plowing. I'm 68 now & still have the G. Looks almost like new. Again beautiful tractor!!!

Awesome to see you work the equipment the way it was intended. Love that sound can hear it for miles. I own a 1959 Fordson Dexta, I was at our annual tractor show this weekend and we were talking about the new equipment and saying the new equipment won't be around in 63 + years

Nothing better than hearing a beautiful 2 cylinder snort a little while it is working.

I spent many hours on our neighbors 520 and 620. We had an “H” then an “A”. Love the sound of the two cylinders John Deere’s.

My Dad's 730 Diesel pulled 4-16s mounted. One of our fields was an easy working loam. One season he made a round with the plow in 5th gear just because he could. Sure wish I could get on that tractor and work her today.

Brings back good memories! Dad had a 730 diesel with a mounted 4-16. It required lots of added weight on the front and rear.

A common sight in my childhood but rare to see anyone turning ground anymore. The equipment in the late ‘60’s and early 79’s but a size or two bigger but nobody had the huge 4 wheel drives with big plows. That came later. I think the guy my dad worked for sometimes had a five bottom and farmed 400 acres. Allis Chalmers guy.

Sounds like home. We pulled 4X16 which the 730 played with. Back when they built stuff to last. How many of today's tractors with all the electronic gizmos will still be working at 60 years.⁶

Thanks for the great video! My brother and I just got a plow like that from a neighbor. Only it is a 4 bottom. We tried it out a couple of days ago with his 720 diesel. It had plenty of power but not enough traction to pull it plowing in alfalfa ground. That ground was even giving our big New Holland with 210 horse and 6 bottom 18" plow a challenge.

That’s a really sharp 730. I would prefer the diesel but who wouldn’t want to have a 730 gas that is that sharp.
I used to have a 720 diesel and pulled a JD 4-14’s pull type plow in our yellow clay hills here in n.e. Iowa. Handled in fine. A 730 would have been more comfortable to drive

What's wrong? NOTHING. A 730 can pull 5-14 under ideal condions but a smart operator will chose a smaller plow to do a better job with less stress. Using a 3-16 on a 730 means you have enough traction and power to get through wet spots and tough spots without having to constantly adjust plow depth, downshift or hitting brake of spinning wheel. Often you can run a gear faster with the smaller plow finishing field same time, and do a better job with less fatigue at the end of the day. Plowing an old Alfalfa field after second cutting you will be thankful you are pulling a 3-16 plow. Also that is the standard plow and not their heavy duty which has 5 lug wheels. Great video.

People forget its harder to find old plows nowadays than a tractor, a lot of plows have been torched for scrap over the last 50 years. Its what you have, what you can find. I would love to find a 4-16s JD F620 plow for my 730D.

No child on a tractor with no cab? Well then, I guess there wouldn't be anybody here. to watch. How do you think we learned to drive a tractor 50,60,70 years ago? Standing in front of dad or grandpa on the platform in front of the seat with a big arm and leg on each side of you. You weren't going anywhere. And no fenders either. Sober, common sense, paying attention to business safety.
