- Daniel and Aveil grew up together and were like family but after a shooting at a party, Daniel feels that Aveil betrayed him by leaving him behind during the frightening ordeal. Now, Daniel, Aveil, and their friend Brittany are reuniting to share their stories of that scary night. Can Daniel and Aveil return to the friendship they once had?

Nah dude the friend is dead wrong. Daniel isn’t asking or was expecting him to save him, he’s asking WHY YOU DIDNT CHECK UP ON ME! He made all types of excuses. Your phone dying ok cool but you could’ve at least came back. Daniel could have died and Aveil not know a thing until he got on social media since that’s the first thing he do instead of talking to his friend. It hurts Daniel so much because from the looks of it, he would NEVER do something like that to his friend let alone someone he counts as a brother. That apology was so dry and not real and honestly Daniel needs to drop him.

I went to a festival called Jouvert where there were thousands of people and multiple were shot. One person was shot in the head. I couldn’t find my sister. I stayed for THREE HOURS looking for her. would not leave without her. When I found her, we left together…. No man/woman left behind!!!
Though I understand how scared he probably was and didn’t want to admit that as a man. He could’ve and should’ve handled it much better, instead of taking social media so personally. Bc his brother took his absence extremely personal as well.

Must’ve been here in Brooklyn.. Am I right or wrong?? I’ve been in plenty of shootouts and never left nobody I came with, including J’ouvert.. One year at J’ouvert the police wanted to act like animals and start spraying and swinging sticks on the crowd for no reason.. I saw the chaos running towards us and grabbed my 400 lb cousin and ran until we couldn’t run no more into the side blocks.. The adrenaline must’ve helped me tremendously because as we ran I was holding on to her for dear life just so she didn’t stumble or fall or anything.. That same cousin has been with me through plenty of shootouts and brawls and I couldn’t imagine leaving anywhere without her.. Both her and I do the same things for friends also.. Idc what fear you have, ain’t no fear strong enough to have me disappear on anyone in that situation.. I agree with Brittany that he’s fake.. I definitely wouldn’t want to be his bro/bestie anymore, apology or not..

That happened to me and my roommate in college we got separated from each other for a short period. I called her and went looking for her until we found each other. Yes it's scary, but if she died and I didn't go looking for her or calling her how would I explain that to her mom? I'm not leaving nobody I came with in a life or death situation.

Even before this video, I know that if I arrive ANYWHERE with someone, I’m not leaving until I have EVERYONE I arrived there with. No exceptions. What he did was very inconsiderate and against the bro code. Like you said. He wasn’t a best friend. He was a BROTHER. He completely ghosted you and didn’t even call you. How the hell he get in a car and didn’t even charge his phone. Hell, everybody got a charger in their car. I got a charger in a car that’s at my friends house waiting to be fixed and the vehicle hasn’t ran for a year! Only thing was that I switched from android to apple so I can’t use it but the point is I always have a charger. Even if I had ran to the car, I’d be charging my phone calling everybody I was with and even the people I know that I didn’t even go there in the same car just to make sure they good too. But maybe that’s just me cause that’s how I was raised.
I've been in that Situation, and my friends stayed in the area till.we had checked to ensure we all made it out. His "friend" was foul as hell for leaving and not checking on him

My daughter lost a classmate in the Deadliest shooting in American history her friend was out and safe when the gunmen started shooting she went back in and got her cousin to end up losing her life trying to save her cousin but her cousin was already out i’m sharing this story to say I believe he was scared and he didn’t wanna to lose his life he just need to be open and honest and just tell the truth

Yes, it was messed up that Aveil left without his friends. However, let's be real. That is an extremely scary situation. No one is themselves or thinks clearly when their life is in danger. I agree that Aveil needed to take accountability for his action which was triggered because of FEAR not because he doesn't love his friends. There is a huge difference. However, I don't agree with how everyone is making Aveil look like the only wrong one in this situation. Everyone needs to show him a little more empathy. His bad decision was not done with ill intent. It was done to protect his life. I feel where everyone is coming from and I wish them all healing and growth from this.

I truly feel Aveil was scared, took the car and went home. His pride will NOT (at this time) make him admit to his friend or himself that he was scared. It’s easier said than done me and my best friend have been friends since we were 5 and I can literally feel when she’s going through something without talking to her so I couldn’t imagine leaving without her, but this young man feared for his life and he shouldn’t be condemned for it he just made a bad choice, and with time I think they can rebuild that bond.

There is *NO WAY* I would have just left my friend in that situation! The very LEAST he could have done is drive back through the scene to see if his brother was still there! I think he knows full-well that what he did was cowardly, which is why he turned his phone off, and was too embarrassed to check on his friends later. Then for him to say *”You told me you weren’t coming back with me anyway”,* uhh, dude, that was the NORMAL plan, but when scenes start getting shot up, “plans” have a tendency to change…real quick! His friend probably would’ve dealt with things a bit better if he’d just admitted that he was absolutely terrified, which is why he left.
