For words you don't know, it does not. But apparently there is some research that sound stimulus of things we already know can help reinforce the words we already know. How much it affects your sleep quality/REM cycle is not well understood.
if you are going to do sleep learning you need to have all of the words said normalized in volume not some soft and some extremely loud and not its not the translations being different its all this is utter garbage when actually being used.
