One of the beautiful voices of space. Met him in 1989 in Holland with Crimson Glory. Mis the wonderful voice and warm personality. You may proud of him
Like peteranton said: speechless ! I miss that guy, damn it´s sad, never gonna make new mucis to my ears again. But we can listen to the old music and never forget that feeling he had in his voice. RIP :(
Met the man himself in Edinburgh in 1987 (along with Crimson Glory). He was a nice guy and he even bought the beer! Great singer in a great band. In fact they were all pretty decent guys. Those were the days!!
I now realise it was actually 1988, not 87 but all else remains the same. It was the Venue I saw them in too. After the show Midnight, Jon and Dana accompanied myself and a friend for a few drinks around Edinburgh.
always in the otp 5, when ppl, ask greatest vocalists of al times he is in there and ppl say wtf Midnigjht who is that and I point them to lost reflection or painted skies or dark places or dragon rules, 1. Midnight. 2 Eric 'Steel; lunged' Adams, 3. warrel 'the voice of heavy metal' Dane, 4. Geoff tate, 5. david 'the Lion' deFeis. it's about perfection range, and above all unique emotion, heavy metal has always been about unique emotion )
He died of multiple organ failure and stomach rupture from cirrhosis (he had a pretty long and pretty bad drinking problem). Same way Kerouac died. Either or, way too damn young to go, and definitely one of the finest metal vocalists ever, especially with the amount of emotion he put into it.
Dad I miss you so much. You've been gone 1 week and it seems like years. R.I.P dad. I await to see you dad in heaven.

I saw them in Edinburgh that year too at The Venue on Calton Road. They were really cool and signed my albums and T-shirt.

Damn good tune
No , he died of internal bleeding due to a stomach aneurysm. he was stubborn to go to hospital in time.
showmasterd I did see an interview of John Drenning confirming this.

I think abdominal aneurism rupture was the cause, but still...
