Don't know if you saw the news, but Borussia Dortmund just loaned a player from Nürnberg named Nischalke. Which tralnslated from German basically means Never Schalke. His shirts selling like crazy and he's already labeled by Fans to become a Dormund Legend. I find this an amazing busniess deal for them and maybe you can use this for one of your FM stories.

A team can afford to pay 50 million for a player, due to the fact that if they pay that, he will make more than that just in jersey sales.

For added reference, the team currently is pretty good sitting at the top of the table so you can argue its in part a way to get him locked down so if he leaves its on a transfer and not a free instead of he is about to get regular first team minutes, but kid has been tearing it up in the Academy system where over two years he is averaging about 0.8 goals per game, which included playing in the U-13 team as an 11 year old.

It would almost seem unfair to his adult opponents. Imagine a 25 yr old centre back going up for a 50/50 header against a 13 yr old. If I were the CB I would be reluctant to go 100% because I would not want to hurt him. It's common to clank heads in such a scenario. Not worth a concussion to a 13 yr old if you ask me.

Thank you for the repeated reminders of how far away Alaska is to the rest of the United States. It is almost unfathomable to Europeans the size of western North America in general. How a 12 hour car trip is normal is some thing they can't get a grip on for some reason.

His Mexican heritage which he probably grew up around and used as a getaway in Alaska where I assume there weren't many like him around. Or, if he feels more connected to being American and everything else that comes with that from growing up in Alaska to moving to Seattle and being given a chance by an MLS team and the youth USA teams. Either way as a mexican american I'm happy lol bc at the end of the day I can relate it isn't as simple as "oh im from the US" or "my family and the culture I grew up around is mexican," bc he's both.

This is why, in FM, it's annoying when players under 18 don't want to sign 'because they want to continue their development' in their home club and then you can't get them in time for the homegrown player thing to kick in later down the road. That might be true for some Man City U18 guy, but I swear that if you offered a 15-year-old from Serbia a chance to go play in England, he'd throw his own mother under all the trains he needed to get there just for the opportunity. And his father would help. I hope they fix that in future versions.

I'm very curious where you found out that he played for Rush. As a Rush alumn who grew up training in sessions with this kid, I find it funny that there's basically no information out there about the fact that he actually played for Alaska Rush most of his youth career and only spent 1-2 years at Cook.

Of my parents didn't keep me from club/academy soccer I'd be in the MLS. Also the High School team rejected me because i wasn't in the Academy team the varsity and JV team coaches were part of

Native Alaskan means Alaska Native (i.e. ancestry that is indigenous to Alaska) which Obed does not have. Other than that, real good video Zealand!

Bro it’s so cool for him but I can’t stop wandering like brother made his debut and I’m not even in an academy and not even in a city where there is an academy I got to do 30 minutes of bus just to go to high school😢

    From the Arctic? Snow way....
There's a serious point here: Players who play so much football so young have a track record of either failing to live to their full potential, or, in the case of players like Michael Owen, get some horrific injuries as they become marked men and their physical disadvantages as they are still essentially boys makes it real easy for the league's hard-men to put them down. Or they simply retire young, either because they get jaded earlier than other players or the injuries pile up sooner.
I actually think there should probably be some law at the level of the football governing bodies that prevents Under 18s to play more than a certain amount of first team minutes, with perhaps an increase in allowed minutes between 18-21 before fully taking off the training wheels and allowing the opposition to be fully unleashed upon them.
