    This time of year is exciting but sometimes overwhelming. I have been teaching for 23 years and it’s hard work. Each year is a different experience depending on the group of students and parents. Thank you for sharing your great ideas. It’s a huge help!!

      Widalys Lugo - Yes, you are so right- every year really is so different! We really don’t know what to expect until we meet our new students and observe how they interact with each other and the environment we’ve set up. This is why I say to start simple and slowly add (or change) things while we get to know each other. Have a great year! 😊

      Teaching 2 and 3 Year Olds WOW!!! Sooo cool..... I just got back from The Goodwill store and purchased a nice big wooden basket to put my picture books in.... I will have it on my carpet area (where we have circle time) so my littles can read books when they are done having snack and get them ready for circle time.... Kind of like what you do with your basket of books..... I can’t wait to use your awesome idea...... ☺️❤️

    Do you pull the easel out or is it one child painting at a time?

      Ronnie Pearce - We’ve done it both ways. If 2 want to paint at the same time, we can easily pull the easel out from the wall. The last 2 years our children have enjoyed either side-by -side paining (we clip 2 sheets of paper on the same side) or they paint together on the same sheet of paper. Our 2 year olds especially love to paint together so we go with it. Sometimes there will be 3 of them wanting to share that space!

    So there is no structure or learning in your classroom? Not being rude I am just asking a question.

    • @Teaching2and3YearOlds
      @Teaching2and3YearOlds  5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hope Crump - Absolutely there are both! Structure = We have a daily routine and are very consistent. Learning = I set up my classroom with hands-on, playful activities that invite the children to wonder while they are exploring. I put great thought into every single activity I provide. I then observe how the children are engaging in the activities. This is how I determine what next to add to our environment. Thank you for asking! 😊

      This is simply center time. This is only a fraction of the day, an hour or thereabouts.
